Dude, you're a life saver. I just copied the custom dollie you made to get my nova 51 into my basement. I extended the back feet past the wheels so there would be no slip out with lowering. I used a chain hoist to lower the machine back down. It was just my wife and I, so once against couldn't of done it with out that custom dollie. Cheers Nolan.

I was really hoping to see how it was tipped to the backside to get the casters on the ground.

Nice Laser. I have a quick question for you. What benefit did you see by removing most of the doors? As I see it the doors would afford a measure of protection against damaging the electronics and circuitry. The few pounds advantage to make this machine lighter seems irrelevant.

Good question! All that metal adds up in weight. The more I have to muscle it around, the less control I have during the move. It’s hard to rehearse the tip onto the edge and the tip back flat again. I wanted to reduce the likelihood of loosing control.
I left the tube covered because it’s very exposed and one quick tap could be catastrophic. The doors that close in all the rest aren’t exposing delicate stuff right at the opening. For some of it, like the knife edge supports, they are only held in place by gravity. If I were to tip the laser up with those inside, they’d all fall out of their slots and bang around inside.
Overall, removing just the doors, lid, trays, grid, knife edge supports, and base reduced the weight by hundreds of pounds.
