Been using it for around 3 years now as a compost toilet, utilizing double plastic bags and layers of sawdust inside the bags. When managed properly and cleaned out regularly, it works like a charm each and every time. I'd never dream of using any other sort of off-grid toilet, besides combining it with a Luggable Loo, with the same double plastic bags + sawdust formula, in the case of the Luggable Loo for urine only. (#1 and #2 simultaneously works perfectly well with the Stansport, but for #1 only, use the Luggable Loo and change out the bags more regulalrly, i.e. every 2 days, whereas with the Stansport I've found you can easily go up to 3 days). Toilet problems solved, with no stink as long as the layers of sawdust are added, and zero water wasted. This system REALLY WORKS on my off-grid/vanlife compound, and it can work for you too.
