The only problem with these long videos is they’re so captivating I want to sit down and watch, as opposed to having it on in the background. I consider it a positive problem though and one I’m happy to have!
I was just thinking the same thing!! I love love LOVE the longer videos. I love the closeups of the cat and dogs, I love just being here with them as they do their daily tasks. I know it must be irritating to have to move the camera often as they must have to do, and the editing has to take a while. It's so smooth though! Great transitions from shot to shot. Just wonderful and soothing to watch, and I learn so much! Keep it up guys!!!
I’d love if you guys did a Q&A video one day. Like how do you know all of these skills? Did you go to vocational schools? Did you grow up like this? How did you guys meet? I have so many questions!
Yes! How did you meet? Education? What made you decide on Alaska? Are you working any part-time jobs for cash flow? What do your parents think about this?
Bandit’s “pond” has turned into more of a mud wallow that any hippo would be content in. All the animals seem to be just as happy and well cared for as you two (and the crops!)
Bandit at the peak of the mtn looking at your bagel was like "Dude, yes I had 10 eggs and a pound of Salmon a few hours ago but that was a tough climb and the carbs in that bagel are just what I need to finish this hike as your trusted guard dog/companion" :)
Yes, @Dean Johnson! I watched the egg scrambling/chum pouring thinking oooh no carbs. Then I watched him eye that bagel and it... well it broke my heart just a little.
I've been meaning to compliment you on the increasing and incredible quality of your videos! The nature vistas are amazing and your camera skills are a huge blessing to those of us who may never be able to see this gorgeous landscape
You two are living proof that if you have a dream and truly committed to making it work and willing to put in the hard work anything is possible...keep up the excellent work guys....

I’m hoping someday they will do it!! Maybe in the winter when they don’t have quite so much to do. 🤞🏻 It would certainly be a bestseller, this I know for sure!!!
I absolutely love how cautious, prepared, and intelligent yall are before going out in the Alaska wilds. Love you both and what you're all about. Stay safe and hope all is well
Friends. The first 30 seconds of this video with the music and the drone footage. Oh my. Please make this 2 or 4 minutes. Just amazing. And helps the rest of us relate to what it’s like up there.
I would really love to see a gardening book from y'all and also a cook book (and a canning book). I love to watch you harvest and prepare your beautiful food! I don't think there's another channel that does it as well. I also live in a tiny, off-grid house, but have terrible clay soil here and need a general tutorial on how to improve it, as well as the quantities that you plant for 2 people.
😂love the transition from the wild bird in the tree to “wild chicken” perched on the branch. Bandit is hilarious in the swamp! That hike was AMAZING!! Absolutely gorgeous... & love the music!!
You can definately dig out those wild irises and plant them in your flower garden. They will multiply every year to give you a joy. You need just a piece from the original root bulb to get started. Great video as always!
Loved seeing all the speckled juvie eagles on that trailcam. They only develop the full white head at 5 yrs old; then usually live for at least another 30 years!
Wow that Iris just out there in the middle of nowhere so to speak was a beautiful site. Sunshine and good greens and all the treats you feed makes for really healthy eggs. Rich colored yolks the best. Treat yourself to an Oxo good grips salad spinner. They are so versatile and you would love it. For so many things. Love the tailgate supper. omg that hike. So beautiful thank you for sharing. And so love how your bees love you and you love them. Bald eagles that is incredible. 44:23 was that a Wolverine? All of the wildlife cleaning up is just simply beautiful nature that you portray. And respect. And share with them. hugs
Your garden is amazing! It's even more impresive that you have created it in Alaska! All your skills you brought from Oregon and new ones acquired since moving there are definitely evident.
Bandit is like a little kid playing in the mud!! I will keep Bo in my prayers. Your garden(s) look great....you'll eat healthy this summer and have quite a bit to put away for the winter. Stay safe and stay strong.
I just love your channel. One major reasons is the fact that all the vegetables you use is so fresh. Just head out to your garden whips up some fresh salad, chop it up right there & enjoy it. That is so healthy and fresh. AWESOME, AWESOMME!!!
I just want to tell you I love your videos! Your love of life and doing all you can NOW is very important! At the age of 34 I had a disc slip and had to have spinal fusion. It took away alot of abilities to do certain things. 30 years later I still do as much as I can but no hiking or long walks or anything physically stressing. I think that is why I like your videos so very much, I get to experience so much through you guys! Thanks for your quality and fantastic content! Enjoy every NOW you can, because we never know what awaits us around the next corner!
Wow so much vivid, almost lurid colour in your garden right now. The contrast with the rest of the year is fabulous to see. Your chickens look even better than usual, which is quite a thing, because I have always felt you keep a really healthy looking flock; they look particularly immaculate this time. Great video as always. Thanks for it.
All reasons to have those ice coffees lol.. but the garden looks amazing. Wonder about your orchard, any fruits yet and are you planning to extend that part? Amazing views from the hike, you two are simply living your lives in an extraordinary way...love the food!!!
I’m watching again tonight…..your life is so amazingly ferocious….not in a bad way….you just live so much in the NOW…..so much in everything around you….the beautiful wilderness, the plants, the animals….your pups and kitty and chickens….the food you eat is so sublime and delicious looking…..I love my life, don’t get me wrong, but you show all of us the enduring beauty of this stressed out planet….I love how you love each other, I love how you love your life….you share that beauty with us and I can go to sleep tonight and dream of mountains and rushing streams and know that my world has the gifts you gave to us in it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️💫❤️
Best RUclips channel ever. Better than watching Discovery Channel. Watching ya all just relaxes me. I miss Alaska, Kenai Fjords, and the overall nature of Alaska. Wow and rare sighting ya see the top of Denali! Lol i was only able to catch the lower part always shrouded in clouds.
You guys are hands down the best thing on RUclips!! Loved the video today!! The hike! The cooking!! And the trail cam pics at the end!! Looking forward to the next one!! As usual!!

Some of my favorite videos is when you guys harvest your food..and the animals benefit from it as well..Between that and when you cook a meal is amazing! Eric and Arielle you two are such a hard working couple! Love your channel so much!
Loved everything about this video! fresh salad, awesome hike and beautiful views, bee keeping, chicken feed, and the photos from the camera at the end just absolutely fantastic love it you guys and stay safe😊

What a garden that is an outstanding production of different varieties of need vegetables, must be great soil. Your hike was very well appreciated showing the beautiful countryside. God Bless.,..,
I call them salmon burgers when I make them from raw salmon and salmon patties when I make them from canned salmon. Both delicious but different from each other.
Hello and greetings from distant Poland from Gdańsk. It is with great pleasure that I watch your Simple Living Alaska, the region in whichyou live is actually a beautiful land and I envy you the possibility of communing with such beautiful nature
Love these type of videos where we get to live vicariously through you. Wish we could also live off grid. Farm life is just too dangerous for us in SA.
Great vlog, thank you! We’ve had a heat wave in central Alberta, Canada, so my gardens got half burnt. Yours are looking great! Loved all the adventures & the yummy meals!
Now, that’s living the life! Great garden, delicious meals, cool honey bees, a couple that works together, has fun, enjoys each other’s company and gets to see absolutely beautiful scenery! Yep, that’s the life to live! Thank y’all for sharing!
I think I’ve watched nearly every video you’ve done. I’ve been watching since just shortly after you moved to Alaska. I still get excited whenever a new video drops. I really enjoy y’all’s authenticity and great production values. So much of RUclips is so fake that y’all really stand out. Love it. Really inspiring. Look forward to all your future endeavors.
I love when you share your bees with us!! I’ve always thought beekeeping was the most interesting thing ever! I haven’t yet been able to get over my fear of insects, but I love learning with you.Thank you for sharing.
Hi guys, I admire how you guys live. I live in the city of Amsterdam and I used to have an allotment but I had to let it go when my husband got ill and my spare time was nonexistent. But nowadays when I have feelings of getting back an allotment I just watch you guys and plant lettuce in pots in my small garden. Thank you for making these videos👍🏼🌻 Gosh you guys eat really well and what is so extra special, it came out of your own labour, I love that ❤️🍀
Your videos just keep getting better and better. The storytelling, the incredible landscapes and the perpetual rewards for your steadfast passion and work. You guys have created a slice of heaven out in Alaska and i always learn something during one of your adventures. I make my own bread now and am changing so many of my shopping habits to reduce packaging waste. You guys set such great examples by actions and never by preaching.
I've been a subscriber to your Channel since day one. It's been wonderful watching you learn and perfect what you are doing. I've lived off grid in Trapper Creek Alaska for 19 years now and I have learned so much from you in just the few years you've been here. I want to thank you so very much!!!! I truly love you young ones!!!❤✌🏻😊 I must let you know that I feel like a proud grandmother to you guys. Just know that I am so proud of you both!!! And your dogs! I just found this channel recently and I've been watching it everyday and loving it
I’d love if you guys did a Q&A video one day. Like how do you know all of these skills? Did you go to vocational schools? Did you grow up like this? How did you guys meet? I have so many questions!
If u watched all their videos you'd know how the met.
Yes! We have SOOOOO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!
I have watched all the videos except the giveaway ones and I also don't know how they met.
@@edwillnsimbini8816 I've watched all their videos, but I don't remember hearing how they met.
Yes! How did you meet? Education? What made you decide on Alaska? Are you working any part-time jobs for cash flow? What do your parents think about this?
The contrast between Bandit, jumping in his big mud puddle, and the kitty sleeping in the sun, was so spot on😊
The dog is the smart one sitting WAY out away from the hives. LOL.
Bandit’s “pond” has turned into more of a mud wallow that any hippo would be content in. All the animals seem to be just as happy and well cared for as you two (and the crops!)
Making bulk homemade pasta and drying them is a good way of using extra eggs and preserving for the winter :) (got the idea from Acre Homestead)
Oh I’d love to see you guys making a Homemade Off Grid Pasta Project. That’d be awesome!
It takes up a good deal of storage room so that might be an issue for them but maybe on their new property!
Bandit at the peak of the mtn looking at your bagel was like "Dude, yes I had 10 eggs and a pound of Salmon a few hours ago but that was a tough climb and the carbs in that bagel are just what I need to finish this hike as your trusted guard dog/companion" :)
🤣🤣🤣🤣 but so true!!
Yes, @Dean Johnson! I watched the egg scrambling/chum pouring thinking oooh no carbs. Then I watched him eye that bagel and it... well it broke my heart just a little.
The pure joy on Bandit's face as he digs in the bog - Priceless!!

I heard Eric say they were both the same age. I think Bo is just laid back and Bandit is hyper😊
Ariel’s artistic eye translates beautifully to the videos. So smooth and enjoyable to watch. Even if it’s a long video we’ve watched it twice.
