Hua Chenyu is the most unique and versatile artist I've ever seen. He is an all-round artist. Basically he is a rock star but he can handle so many different genres. Great composer, great singer and great stage performer all in one. His music has no boundaries with innovative thinking. It's hard to predict what his next performance will be. His emotional expression is extremely strong and always takes you on his journey. This song is one of his masterpiece. He has too many masterpiece for you to discover. Hua Hue IS an amazing talent. The performance that totally won me over was “I Am What I Am”. I needed tissues!!! Along with being a great singer, Hua is a fantastic actor.
I decided to watch your Hua Chenyu reactions from the beginning, it is clear from the outset that you "get" him I hope to see you react to his newest works (either from the concert or when he finally releases the music videos) songs like Airplane mode, Black/White Artist, I really want myself back, meet where the flowers fall... his musicianship continues to improve and the original new material is amazing.

Hua Chen Yu is really an incredible singer, performer and composer. I have never come across any artist as versatile as he is. I have heard easily at least over 30 of his songs to say this and they are all so different in genre and composition. Most of all, he is a singer that you want to watch him performing live on stage instead of MV or CD because his stage performance is forever so entertaining. He is a make believe singer where he plays the persona so well.

I love Hua Hua! He was on Singer 2018 and again Singer 2020 and came in 1st this time. He is now considered the most influential singers in Chinese music today! His concerts pack the Birdsnest in Beijing. Attendance between 75000 and 95000. Last year he had 3 packed performances for his concert! He’s a wonderful giving person who is concerned about the world. His persona reminds me so much of Dimash although his childhood didn’t include the support Dimash has always had! Such talent! You will enjoy following him! For a light look, I Don’t Care from Singer 2018.
I was numb for two days after hearing this for the first time - having the captions for the words added even more. As you gathered, he is extremely versatile vocally. He is a genius at composing and arranging, and invests everything into the entirety of each song. At least half a dozen more pieces are required to get a proper impression, but this is one of his masterpieces. This song was originally a folksy rock song, composed by a Chinese artist Cui Jian (hope I got the name right). You got the emotions and expressions spot on. Hua covered this song 2 times prior, all differently. This cover is darker. The way Hua expressed the lyrics his way is amazing. It is an expression of conflicting desires, of yearning for attention, going from north to south, from day to night in search but at the same time fearful of one’s inability to return the same. Something along the line. The first verse goes like this: “I want to go from north to south and from light till dark for everyone to see me yet not know who I am.” Thanks a million for your review of his performance. Hi FIL! I'm glad to see this reaccion. Many dears of Dimash are followers of Hua Hua, both are many in common although very different Styles. Hua is composer, multi-instrumentalist, he has total control of his voice, he has a special ability to mix differents Styles in the same composition. He is pure charisma on stage. NUNCHUCK is one of my favorites because It mixes pop, rock, rap and chinese opera in the same song and the result is spectacular. Dimash is my number one and Hua Chenyu my number two.
Nope, much as I love Dimash, Hua Hua is my absolute number one. Cred to Dimash though, if it weren't for him I wouldn't have discovered Hua Hua. The first time I heard this song I thought I was going to have a coronary. It still affects me profoundly.

@@rosareis8191 Oi Rosa. O Hua supreendeu-me do mesmo modo que o Dimash. É claro que o Dimash tem um instrumento vocal que não tem paralelo mas o Hua está num nível altíssimo. Só nesse sentido posso compará-los. No que toca à sua música e performance, não consigo eleger um deles. Mas o que quiz dizer é que o Hua transmite-me outro tipo de emoções, outros sentimentos pois como dizes, é como se fosse opostos um do outro. Saúde para ti e para os teus, também.
He is nothing short of genious. I actually started learning Mandarin so I could appreciate his songs better (and because I find the language beautiful). My favourites besides this one is Child, Ordinary Path and Nanping Evening Bell.

Straight up Hua Chenyu is a god of musical performance. Great that you are just listening to this without lyrics. Experiential. Next time listen to the interview beforehand. Then watch him walk in barefoot. HuaHua is so very cool. He started playing flute at an early age so he has lungs. Switched to piano at 12 to compose. Child (the song) has a long note. Listen to how he sings Tengri's Heaven. I have been watching The Next and they have 24 hours to rearrange songs to beat challengers. There is more to Hua Chenyu than you can e en imagine. For the past few days, I’ve been watching Hua Chenyu’s, Pentatonix and Home Free reaction videos. It’s been quite a while since I’ve truly enjoyed an informative reaction like yours regarding Hua Chenyu. I did not appreciate how difficult it is for a singer to sing those notes until a vocal coach mentioned it. So when you were trying to explain it to us, I understood what you were trying to relay to us. Thanks.
Fil, you will LOVE the 2020 performance of Hua Chenyu’s song “Bull Fighting” on Singer. *Links in body of post* It is Epic. A PERFORMANCE in capital letters. The last one they did with an audience before they had to go into quarantine and do things differently for the rest of the season. In order to make sure you can turn on Eng subtitles, I had to list the link to the full episode, so I’ll list start and end times. This is too good to wait very long for. You will lament and beat yourself up if you let these performances languish at the end of a line. Start time has him speaking about the song for about 20sec. You need to do eng subtitles on this song to fully grasp how deep he’s taking you. And my God, whoever is in charge of lighting and staging on the Singer show deserves every award given out. His audiences are either on their feet losing their minds or they are silent and riveted to him. Often they don’t know what he’s going to do in any given moment, but they don’t want to miss a second of it. I know this because we experience the same thing at home watching it and feel privileged to have seen it, almost desperate to experience him live. The cover of “Fake Monk” in this video of yours is remarkable and profound. All of his Singer performances deserve reactions. I’ll give you three of the best. Besides “Bull Fighting”, you must see his cover of “Nunchucks” (his arrangement is brilliant and very different from the original) on Singer 2018, and...please God, you will be so happy when you see this next one, Fil,... his own song “I Don’t Care” performed on 2018 Singer. I love Hua Hua! He was on Singer 2018 and again Singer 2020 and came in 1st this time. He is now considered the most influential singers in Chinese music today! His concerts pack the Birdsnest in Beijing. Attendance between 75000 and 95000. Last year he had 3 packed performances for his concert! He’s a wonderful giving person who is concerned about the world. His persona reminds me so much of Dimash although his childhood didn’t include the support Dimash has always had! Such talent! You will enjoy following him! For a light look, I Don’t Care from Singer 2018.

I was numb for two days after hearing this for the first time - having the captions for the words added even more. As you gathered, he is extremely versatile vocally. He is a genius at composing and arranging, and invests everything into the entirety of each song. At least half a dozen more pieces are required to get a proper impression, but this is one of his masterpieces. Thanks for the great and perceptive reaction, you did not disappoint with your commentary - never have I reached for the play button so fast for a reaction video (and I have been doing that a lot this year...)
You got his name right 👍👍👍 and yes, Hua is Chinese and was 28 at this performance on Singer 2018. This song was originally a folksy rock song, composed by a Chinese artist Cui Jian (hope I got the name right).
You got the emotions and expressions spot on. Hua covered this song 2 times prior, all differently. This cover is darker. The way Hua expressed the lyrics his way is amazing. It is an expression of conflicting desires, of yearning for attention, going from north to south, from day to night in search but at the same time fearful of one’s inability to return the same. Something along the line.
The first verse goes like this: “I want to go from north to south and from light till dark for everyone to see me yet not know who I am.”

Hi FIL! I'm glad to see this reaccion. Many dears of Dimash are followers of Hua Hua, both are many in common although very different Styles. Hua is composer, multi-instrumentalist, he has total control of his voice, he has a special ability to mix differents Styles in the same composition. He is pure charisma on stage. NUNCHUCK is one of my favorites because It mixes pop, rock, rap and chinese opera in the same song and the result is spectacular. Dimash is my number one and Hua Chenyu my number two.

Nope, much as I love Dimash, Hua Hua is my absolute number one. Cred to Dimash though, if it weren't for him I wouldn't have discovered Hua Hua. The first time I heard this song I thought I was going to have a coronary. It still affects me profoundly.

@@rosareis8191 Oi Rosa. O Hua supreendeu-me do mesmo modo que o Dimash. É claro que o Dimash tem um instrumento vocal que não tem paralelo mas o Hua está num nível altíssimo. Só nesse sentido posso compará-los. No que toca à sua música e performance, não consigo eleger um deles. Mas o que quiz dizer é que o Hua transmite-me outro tipo de emoções, outros sentimentos pois como dizes, é como se fosse opostos um do outro. Saúde para ti e para os teus, também.
He is nothing short of genious. I actually started learning Mandarin so I could appreciate his songs better (and because I find the language beautiful). My favourites besides this one is Child, Ordinary Path and Nanping Evening Bell.

beforehand. Then watch him walk in barefoot. HuaHua is so very cool. He started playing flute at an early age so he has lungs. Switched to piano at 12 to compose. Child (the song) has a long note. Listen to how he sings Tengri's Heaven. I have been watching The Next and they have 24 hours to rearrange songs to beat challengers. There is more to Hua Chenyu than you can e en imagine. Your reaction was so great. This is my favorite of Hua's because of his vocal acrobatics and theatrical performance. Hope you get to go back and see with Eng sub and the pre performance interview. I am so glad you are trying Hua. He is my favorite right behind Dimash. He can surprise you like no other. Try Nunchucks. However, if you want to see him do different personalities... he wrote and performed, ' 7 Personalities". and yes he starts with one and jumps to all the other until a incredible ending. He will hold your attention. That I can promise you. He also does a song called, 'Dad, I'm Home.' It is the most emotional song I have ever heard. I cried like a baby. He is such an incredible artist I thought it was his story. It was not his story at all!

For the past few days, I’ve been watching Hua Chenyu’s, Pentatonix and Home Free reaction videos. It’s been quite a while since I’ve truly enjoyed an informative reaction like yours regarding Hua Chenyu. I did not appreciate how difficult it is for a singer to sing those notes until a vocal coach mentioned it. So when you were trying to explain it to us, I understood what you were trying to relay to us. Thanks.

Fil, you will LOVE the 2020 performance of Hua Chenyu’s song “Bull Fighting” on Singer. *Links in body of post* It is Epic. A PERFORMANCE in capital letters. The last one they did with an audience before they had to go into quarantine and do things differently for the rest of the season. In order to make sure you can turn on Eng subtitles, I had to list the link to the full episode, so I’ll list start and end times. This is too good to wait very long for. You will lament and beat yourself up if you let these performances languish at the end of a line.
Start time has him speaking about the song for about 20sec. You need to do eng subtitles on this song to fully grasp how deep he’s taking you. And my God, whoever is in charge of lighting and staging on the Singer show deserves every award given out. They are consistently great, but they went above and beyond with this performance.

Every performance he did in the 2018 and 2020 seasons of Singer was fantastic. He is so goofy and sweet talking to people, yet he becomes an absolute God on stage. He rules it and is utterly confident on it. And he rules the audience, and they adore him for it. His audiences are either on their feet losing their minds or they are silent and riveted to him. Often they don’t know what he’s going to do in any given moment, but they don’t want to miss a second of it. I know this because we experience the same thing at home watching it and feel privileged to have seen it, almost desperate to experience him live. The cover of “Fake Monk” in this video of yours is remarkable and profound. All of his Singer performances deserve reactions. I’ll give you three of the best. Besides “Bull Fighting”, you must see his cover of “Nunchucks” (his arrangement is brilliant and very different from the original) on Singer 2018, and...please God, you will be so happy when you see this next one, Fil,... his own song “I Don’t Care” performed on 2018 Singer.
