I love to see American patriots doing high quality work, so this is right up my alley. Also seeing your daughter working with you, brings back a lot of memories. I remember starting when I was 12 or 13 working on jobsites with my step-dad framing mostly. He didn't let me do much finish work until I was about 16 or so which looking back was probably for the better.

When lumber prices get to crazy.... just mill the wood yourself. Not sure if it's much cheaper, but it makes awesome RUclips vidoes!
That kid is on her way to industrial deafness later in life, unless a machine fails and she loses an eye first. 'Eyes and ears' is what we say here before the machine goes on to remind us to put on our hearing and eye protection.

Please excuse me if this is an ignorant statement but I thought true timberframing was using wood only, no screws, nails, etc, just dowels slots and grooves for the construction? Please correct me if I'm wrong, I just thought that was what timber framing was or is that timberframed colt houses?
The project is starting to shape up, it's going to look amazing once it's completed, it's crazy how complicated yall are making it on yourselves, glutton for punishment I guess lol bravo, can't wait to see the finished product!
Correct!! We are just using Timber frame elements on this one because of what it is. They call them hybrids 👍🏻. The trusses in the gables and porch will be Timber framed also the front porch and floor system, still a lot to go.
Oh ok I didn't know there was a hybrid TF house, I took a C.O.L.T.S. timberframing class back in high school years ago (the class before me actually built the workshop with true TF construction), it was fascinating to watch, I always found all natural TF houses just amazing feats of engineering, especially considering most full TF structures are still standing such as castles etc from centuries ago. I'm glad ppl like you and your team are keeping timberframing alive and not lost to time long forgotten.

I'm 71 now and long since retired but I kept the same relationship with my 'A-Class Control & Power Distribution Journeyman' ... Men of high moral character, well trained & dependable ... They were my family all those years. Looking back, I can't say that I ever regretted one days work in all those years ... After all, when you love what you do, it just ain't work!
