No. Gaslighting is a classic method used in order to get someone to question themselves. It's a form of mental abuse, and I am not sure how effective it is against a person with a schizoid condition. Some people do that in order to heighten the possibility of a desired outcome, plus they are exaggerating the severity of having a mental illness in order to scare people. I cannot say that this is a conclusion, but some people need to quit using stigmas as a way to scare people or as a way to make it okay to stigmatize others. "We're just trying to help!" Why so defensive? Well, if one was to insist on sharing sentiment with that notion, then yes, that would be indicative of either a perceptive disorder or a personality disorder coupled with an overly simplistic perception that leads the person to think that they can force someone else into accepting an erratic view.
This worries me, if people with schizophrenia can see what’s actually there as opposed to the illusion, perhaps we’re the ones who don’t perceive reality for what it really is. What if life is an illusion that we’re just pre-conditioned to perceive as “ordinary” or “normal” and people with schizophrenia can see past the veil and see the world for what it truly is. What if we, the neurotypical folk, are the impaired ones. What if we aren’t actually treating schizophrenia patients but are just dumbing them down to our level because we, the majority, are so self righteous that we believe we are normal simply because we don’t see or hear things that aren’t there. In summary, a healthy mind can experience deceit and confusion; a genius mind can determine accuracy and inaccuracy through its ability to study and make distinctions; schizophrenia struggles to make correct distinctions, if any at all. No honest assessment should have to involve seeing if you can manipulate a person into accepting confusion. The unsettling face is a distraction that produces an optical illusion; underneath it is an easier plane to follow that shows the true motion of the object. Once you notice that, then you can notice that the illusion seems to appear as if it's two separate planes moving in opposite directions. This is not a conclusion; it takes observation in order to understand the very mechanism, but honestly, as long as you are not chronically too certain about the things you observe, then yes, things are fine.
