Such a shame to hear that some folks get concerned with the growth rate of their fish instead of just sitting back and enjoying them as they are every day. If they are going to grow they will...just don't get hung up on it. Thanks for this!
I have a 8 inch long Comet Goldfish and a 9.5 Inch Calico Ryukin Goldfish. Both are very entertaining with a Voracious appetite for insects, pellets, live food and veggies
I had a fantail for 5 years and it barely reached 6in, had it in a 400 gallon pond, sadly it froze and busted while I was at school and I lost him. R.I.P. Tubby.
I keep 4 in my 75 gallon. Frozen brine and blood worms with Hikari’s pellets are part of their diet, i also give them unshelled peas for extra nutrition.Ps love the content.
Very lovely and adorable fish you have... Also your aquarium quit bige enough to make you fish happy.... I realy love them...i want be friend with your fishes,
I accidentally bought 5 feeder goldfish and I have them in 30 gallon they are happy I have many filtration and I change there water every couple days so I cycle another 20 gallon to divide them but at the moment they are happy together I don’t want to separate the I wanna know how long I can keep them in the 30 gallon together.
I have 2 tanks a 55 gallon and a 75 gallon and there both stocked only with two fancy goldfish each I like to under stock my tanks both tanks have big fluval canisters on them and 2 big sponge filters each and my water is clear always but my fish are big there all 6 to 8 inches I feed veggies and sinking pellets think it’s ok what I’m doing
So glad to see that some do not always think that packing an aquarium is the thing to do...less is def more, especially with beautiful fancy tail goldfish to look at. Glad you posted what you do.
I own 4 huge fantail they are good pets but need alot of care they are very messy fish mine are in a 4ftx50cmx50cm and with 3 double filters and I need to do two 50 percent water changes a week.
Hey had a question about decor about my 80gal... It's mainly stocked with angelfish buuuut I also have quite a few plecos... My smallest is about 9.5 inches and have destroyed just about everything that I've put in the tank. I bought some spider wood pieces and with there massive sizes they just tore it apart. But I'm too scared to put dragon stone or really any kind of stone decor due to there sensitive mouths... Any recommendations on decor?
I have one that's 10yrs old!! He is 12-13in long, I came across ur video cuz I'm looking for some help, this is the first time he gets sick, and he is at the bottom of the tank, I DNT know what to do!😭 or what type of meds I should give him, can u give me sum suggestions
I’d say if your outside temps stay within parameters year round they should be fine. I’d just be worried about them getting too cold in the winter if anything.
@@TCS_Aquatics82 hmm southern cali does get pretty cold at night in the winter and sometimes it snows so would i just move them in during the winter or get a big enough heater?
Storm Person Me personally I would want to move them in for the winter because say if your pond heater failed they would die, where if it failed in an inside tank your would still have ambient room heat and they would more than likely make it.
Hi I got 6 fantail goldfish June 2021. 3 were little 1 inch fishies, 3 were 2.5 inches or so. The 3 larger fishies spent the summer outside in a half whiskey barrel pond and were brought in in the fall. They all lived in a 90 gallon unheated aquarium with some corydoras and live plants that they distroy and I replace lol. I do 35% water change every 5 days. Filtration with eheim 2217 canister. I feed them a variety of foods. Here is my confusion and I hope you can help me understand...One of my tiny 1 inch fishies has grown to be a big 6 inch fatty in just over a year. I had to remove her from the 90 gallon and put her in a 36 gallon by herself because she was trying to bite the eyes out of one of the other goldfish. I didn't know goldfish could be aggressive. She is double the size of the goldfish that were more than twice her size last year. Is this genetics? Growth hormones? If she is this big already is she going to be a monster?
I read that fish can become aggressive if they are kept in a space too compact with other fish, she mustve felt like she needed to fight for space cause she outgrew the tank
@Tanya LaPointe yeah. but there were 5 other fish, the recommended amount is 30 gallon for the first fish +10 every additional fish (idk thats just what I read)
Love these fish. Thinking about getting a Black Moor and Calico Fantail. Maybe in a 20 or 30 gallon. Do goldfish need a lid? Can't find a definite answer online.
they won't need a lid if you provide the necessary things that they need (adequate filtration, enough food, etc) if a fish gets stressed they may want to jump out of the tank. especially if the tank is too small, which is most likely a reason as to why they would want to jump.
Well if your gonna breed them i suggest you run out to the store and get some extra bins for all the new babys because you sure as hell dont want your fish ending up in this sorta fish tank ruclips.net/video/BkuDkG2_8-Q/видео.html
I just rescued a single fantail goldfish yesterday he looks in great shape! I need an Idea of what to feed him! Because I have not had a goldfish in years! And I feel horrible for him!

Its for breeding purposes mostly but i do want my goldfish to last long.
Indeterminate Growth, meaning that as long as they live, they will continue to grow

@@thoranda3469 we can just pray that he’s doing the water changes and that they’re still in their small stages. Maybe they’re thriving.
There are no species in goldfish. They're breeds. Breeds do not appear in nature due to selective breeding. Breeds are made for our aesthetics

Def for not too long.
Not too long bc they produced ammiona and nirates will rise up the bigger tank the less water changes you’ll have to do.

I have three "two fin" goldfish in a tiny pond outdoors that produced three fish one of which has a single tail...is that common?
Yes
Why are all the fish going after the orange fish in the first video ?

What size tank for two fancy goldfish
3:01 Fantail:”Stick your finger in the water, I dare you!”😁
40-60
40 the minimum and 60 it should be a nice size. The bigger the tank the better

That chasing and ganging up behaviour in the first clip of the various types. What is that? Mating? Bullying?
I've read that the males chase the females around, even push them to the tank glass, to try and release the eggs inside the female
Seem like mating. If bullying the goldfish would have scars and not as active and hiding.
Is swim bladder disease an issue with fantails?
Yes but feed them peas and veggies
