I play vanilla on ps5 and they push ladders off all the time, until a man reaches the top its possible. But the other parts of this mod seems like good changes. Siege towers are to weak in base game unless you set up enough arty in the take out the defensive ones in the world map part of the siege.
What could help is taking control of an onager yourself. The AI tends to target the sparse archers, whereas with enough practice you can take down the siege towers or their contingents with relative ease
@user-rj8tr6sp7e I meant as the defender. As the attacker I storm the walls, I usually forgoe siege towers for ladders, not even taking a ram. Or I break the walls and go through the breach.
@@Polarisk2106 most efficient method is to break all their defensive weapons with trebushets then join battle and let ur onagers and archers siege before storming like 20 minutes in once everyone's super hurt
making ladders riskier than towers makes perfect sense to me, it is also more immersive since these crazy long towers aren't exactly the safest option to take up to the highest shelf in your room let alone in a siege battle. But the mod itself isn't that great after that. All it does aside from the ladders thing is make the towers sturdier and the gates stronger. An overall meh.
I think you'd be better off setting your archers to scatter. They will fill up the available arrow slit and battlement positions and most will not be idle.
Try getting the Scatter Around Expanded mod, and then setting your Fian individually where you want them. That battle was close enough that I think you could do it using that mod.
arrived due to Random suggestion from YT .. 14:56 and i just cringe about how archers often just stand in multiple lines in field and on walls with only the 1st row being the only ones to shoot ._. rip .. with even few being down on stairs on bottom left 15:00 completly out if sight of battle xDDD ... sometimes just praying for mod which would enable us to handpick and put archers on the battlements manualy spreading them out as much as possible to both increase coverage of area as of angles points on and to make all of them shoot ... not sure if they would then all of them replenish arrows from these arrow barrels and if they can be emptied out ... 🏹
Pretty sure there’s a better scatter mod specifically made for better ai choosing archer positioning I know they work in field battles but not sure abt siege attacks/defense

It's hard to hit defensive siege equipment, they're usually a bit protected by the castle

You have the scatter around you can choose exactly where to place your unit
Is there a mod where it has both Romans and Spartans ? I know there are mods for Romana only and Spartans only but i want both to be in the same mod
But pushing ladders was already im game
