I own the original A1 and now the mark II. I am a Sony shooter mostly doing studio work and I find this a great upgrade. The autofocus is a major upgrade for me and while I have a VERY long wishlist of features I’d like to see, I’m happy with paying the delta between selling my used A1 and buying the new. People keep on arguing and complaining over the R1, R5, Z9, A1. Those who need it know what they’re getting and 95% of those arguing in the comments have never tried any of these flagship cameras. For me I just see it as a win that there is finally competition and that the three leading brands are pushing each other. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone ❤
A1 still has the better hardware than R5II/Z8/Z9, but you pay a premium to eek out the extra bit. Thing is most people don't see the difference or it doesn't matter. Z8/Z9 is hailed as best value, but it also doesn't have a mechanical shutter. To some that is very important while others could care less. Cutting that hardware out saves money. R5II now has a stacked sensor but it's readout speed is 6.3ms vs the A1 3.7ms. Yup, it is slower but do people realize it? A wildlife humming birder would but everyone else prob not.
Great breakdown and comparison! As a current A1 owner, I am struggling to justify upgrading to A1II. Your video helps me feel content with sticking with my A1, until there is a more significant update from Sony in the future 🙌🙏
It’s about $1500-2000usd over priced since it comes with no firmware updates, but what a camera takes out Nikons whole mirrorless line up. Sony A7V hopefully will have this sensor with a lower price tag.
I am currently using the A7R V, and I find it more than sufficient for my needs. Spending $6,500 on the A1 II for what feels like a minor upgrade doesn’t seem justifiable to me. The A7R V already delivers exceptional performance in terms of resolution and features, and the improvements in the A1 II don’t provide enough value for the price difference.
@@Brider-o3c what are you talking about? R1 It IS comparable to nikon Z9 and sony A9III, that's their league. Meanwhile R5II belongs to A7RV and Z8 niche. A1 II is presented as a jack of all trades which is kinda a stretch considering it hasn't change much from the first version
Active Dynamic Stabilization is a big deal for me personally. I need to be able to take photos and videos while on the go - literally like walking around.
I don’t know about that. It’s pretty expensive, but go look at some of the flagship DLSR‘s from Canon and Nikon……… in the early 2000s as digital was getting better $10,000 to $15,000. 12 to 18 megapixels. Crazy times.
I hope Nikon Steps up with Z9 II that will eclipse this- inwpuld live for Sony to give us a Z8 competitor for $3000 😂 ok ok let me dream..as an A7IV owner i can't wait to see what i will see at CP+ this coming winter ❄️😊
Heck no. All that crap is overpriced. And as one checks the used and resale market, people can't dump the stuff fast enough when they realize that they've be suckered into over spending for the sht. After 6 months every single device sold new is already $600 cheaper open box. Some devices are $1000 cheaper. And they still make a profit.

Competion is always good for the consumer
True, often people arguing specs have never used the camera(s) 😂 that’s why we like to get the camera in hand and give our thoughts for creators
The problem start when you compare the A1II with the Z8 or the R5II and factor the price difference.
NO!
Yeah we wish this was $5,200 or even $5K flat.

Thanks for watching!
The A7IV image is a bit warmer
I noticed that too. Super interesting! Same lens was used for all of the testing too.
Have this on my radar, ty!

correction the a9iii was the first camera with pre capture if I remember correctly.
informative content.
I think pre capture was introduced with the new Sony S sports camera so not unique to this. Definitely wish my a7iv had that.
I'm here happy with my zv1ii but willing to swap if anyone is up for it
😂😂
Can you compare it with canon R5 mark ii
why? R5II is not Canon top of the line
@@joseqmeh101the R5mkii is a much better camera for less. The R1 is not comparable to any other camera. Straight sports camera.
Maybe at some point!

Great camera but overpriced imo
Definitely not overpriced but a little too similar to the OG A1
Super spendy
Hi
🙌
I think it is not only very expensive as a first camera but also expensive as a second camera.!
It’s spendy all around 😅
I would be interested to know, what the critics are missing in the A1-II? And pleases don't comme to me with global shutter and 8K 60fps!
Active Dynamic Stabilization is a big deal for me personally. I need to be able to take photos and videos while on the go - literally like walking around.
It’s true… like what is it missing in practicality?!
Cameras have just gotten too expensive. The tech is really good enough at a much lower price.

You never know! Nikon is killing it honestly with their latest cameras and they are relatively affordable.
That was waste of a drop
Don’t think this camera is worth it?
No.
What’s it lacking?
The answer is no
What do you think it’s lacking for that price?
What it 6,500 bucks no thank you 😅
Nope 🙂↔️
What’s it lacking for that price?
@ the price is my issue, as a small channel that’s way out of my budget.
The Answer is YES! For me, the A1-II is currently the best overall camera on the market.
It is amazing for sure
Nope!
What do you think it’s lacking for that price?
@@ThinkMediaTV. I’m sure it’s a great camera, but camera prices are getting out of hand. To each his own.
