My grandparents didn't baby sit my brother or me. But they did love, support and spend time with us. They enjoyed their grands without the relationship turning into a job. You are right, you are under no obligation to babysit.

Grandparents should be able to keep grandkids when they want to. There should be no obligation.

Folk are going to do what they want to do, we as GrandP's shouldn't have to kiss their azzes to see our grandchildren!!!
Family is family. There should not be any requirements or stipulations to love on a grand. But you're right people do what they want.
