    It still amazes me the precision of these booster returns and landings.

    Got to see it in the sky. Something about a rocket launch that just captures the imagination.

    What puzzles me:
    Why doesn't SPACEX use the Falcon 9 to send a mini version moon landing project now and use the feedback data in the STARSHIP Project.
    This approach will be much cheaper and quicker to test the ARTEMAS 3 concept

      The falcon system does not possess the necessary delta v to reach the moon.

      Can use Falcon Heavy Falcon 9 does go to ISS fore and back as one hopes will soon be demonstrated imminently with Mission Success as for putting non human rated product on the Moon I think Falcon9 did this successfully for Japan. What I don't think can be done is a return Mission to the Moon *AND BACK* which is what Artemis has demonstrated as can do already. Starship to date has not been able to demonstrate a single working function for Space work yet😊

    What are those items flying off the booster at 33:00??

    Why can the Falcon 9 booster re-enter the atmosphere without needing heat shield tile? Is it just moving so much slower at re-entry compared with vehicles coming down from an orbit?

    • @kawkasaurous
      @kawkasaurous Месяц назад +4

      Not moving nearly as fast as something coming from orbit. Minimum speed for LEO is 28,000 KPH the falcon 9 only reaches about 9,000 KPH
