    I was in the market for a gravel geometry with IGH and the only one I could find at a reasonable price point was the Apollo. I decided against it because the reviews of the Alfine IGH were pretty Meh to say the least. So I ordered the Priority 600 as a compromise because that had the King of IGHs and Gear boxes (in my enthusiasts rather than pro opinion) the Pinion. Imagine then, just as the 600 was en route and not yet delivered I saw the ad for the Gemini which had everything I wanted. Pinion gb, smart shift, belt drive, gravel geometry and all at a price point that shames all other mass market manufacturers. I quickly cancelled the 600 order and will get the Gemini instead. No brainer for me. Priority have been very helpful especially after I explained my remorse or compromise purchase of the 600 to them. Can't wait for this beauty to get here.

      I have ridden the R600 on thousands of gravel miles. It is a bomb-proof ALL-road bike! But it is not a competitive "gravel bike". You can ride the P600 around the world, loaded with gear. But a lighter, drop bar gravel bike will be 50% faster! The Apollo is better, but still more of a commuter or light touring bike. The Gemini is unique and a real bargain in the gravel market!

    Really a breakthrough bike. Always liked the Priority bikes except for the weight. Now the titanium is only 25.5 lbs plus the electronic shifting. Ticks all my boxes!

    This is the bike I have been wanting to get except I want a flat bar. I don't know enough about the Pinion Smart.Shift so I HAVE to ask... If I drop the money on a titanium Gemini, will I be able to switch it to a flat bar and continue to use the Smart.Shift? (I wish that was just an option right from the factory, it would be absolutely perfect and my dream bike. 😭) Thanks for any advice and the more detailed the better!! Take care.

      The Gemini is designed for fast gravel riding. Any drop bar bike will be faster than flat bars - always! Changing the Gemini over to flat bars would be like adding 10 pounds to the bike. It WOULD make a versatile SUPER commuter bike - if you were willing to invest another $300!

    Why oh why did I not find priority sooner? I shopped for bikes for almost a year without finding a bike I really liked. A couple of weeks ago I found a really good deal on a used but like-new commuter/fitness hybrid bike. It’s a beautiful bike, but it’s not what I really wanted. Priority has several models that are very close to if not exactly what I want/need. Dang. 😢

    WTB makes the most mediocre tires in the world, put any other tires on the bike that have low rolling resistance. Continental race kings/specialized pathfinder pros/soma cazaderos?
    Why does the bike come with 40mm tires if it can clear 50mm? doesn't make any sense.

    • @PriorityBicyclesNYC
      @PriorityBicyclesNYC  5 месяцев назад +2

      Sure it does- not everyone needs all 50. Plus, the value of the bike is awesome. You can change tires to what you feel is best for your ride and still come out with a great price for the features. Buy a few different options and the value holds up in a big way.

      @@PriorityBicyclesNYC I don't know, I'm not everyone but I'm 6'4 and 193lbs, go over 200lbs in winter with resistance training. Currently running 47mm tires, wouldn't go any smaller for comfort and to help protect rims. The trend with gravel bikes is still going wider, being able to run atleast 50mm and up to 2.3" would be nice. I'm seriously tired of derailleurs and strongly considering pulling the trigger on the bike. Why is black the only available color?

    The belt makes the bike very slow and you lose a lot of the power you put on the pedal. Gates belts are made for e-bikes and not for human powered bikes. Combine the belt with a 90 percent efficiency internal gear system (like the Pinion) and I guarantee you will not have much fun. Been there, done that. After exchanging the belt with a proper chain it becomes bearable.

    • @PriorityBicyclesNYC
      @PriorityBicyclesNYC  7 месяцев назад +2

      Sounds like you have a great bike setup. As riders ourselves, we love the Gates x Pinion system and this bike has been one long-requested since launching the 600 years ago. We are excited for what it will offer riders!

    • @metonyg44
      @metonyg44 7 месяцев назад +1

      I have a Priority 600 that I converted to drop bar two years ago. It is not the best comparison to my gravel bike running Sram Rival 1x but in my daily commute (6 miles each way) it is only about 1-2 minutes slower but it does weigh 8 pounds more, has a dynamo hub, full fenders, and 650x47 times (vs 700x38). I think that weight and dynamo account for much of the time difference. I don't think an internal gearbox will be as fast as a similar-weight traditional drive-train bike, but I also haven't experienced that much of a difference. Unless you are racing for money, many may prefer the belt and pinion for several reasons.

      If you are looking for a chain bike, then Priority brand isn't for you, because their brand identity is to sell belt bikes that are easy to maintain. It's like asking Cervelo to make a cargo eBike.
