      I compared LJ to LeBron in terms of body type and athleticism about a year ago and LeBron fans lost their collective shit. If I could view the down votes it would probably be hundreds. But at least I know now that its not just 15 year olds on the internet hypebeasting of their generation off stars. These kids don't believe anything great came before them nor will anything great come after them. Larry Johnson was the prototype for LeBron James. An unfinished test model almost. LeBron is just an updated version. RUNNING REBELS LJ WAS MONSTROUS.

      @jactrich 4 года назад +7

      Munchino H Hill what? You must be a 2000s+ baby talking trash. 90s was when the competition was at its highest. Most of these players are the best players those teams have ever seen and all played in that “garbage” era. Portland with Clyde, Seattle with kemp and Payton, Utah with Malone and Stockton, rockets with hakeem and Kenny Smith, Spurs with Robinson and Duncan, Hawks with Wilkins, Orlando with a young shaq, early 90s laker still had magic and worthy, same with the whole early 90s pistons squad. All of those teams gave the bulls trouble especially the pistons, the 90s just happen to have the best player ever to play the game. If you weren’t alive you won’t get it but this was the era that brought the NBA to global attention, this new weak era is the one killing its appeal.

    @ 7:02 FACT CHECK- He was NOT traded because of "friction" between him and Alonzo Mourning. Mourning was traded in 1995 because he couldn't get a contract extension. Larry Johnson was traded in the summer of 1996. So it was obviously not "friction" between him and Mourning because Mourning was already traded the year before.

    Larry's legacy in NY was a 4 point play to help reach the Finals but they eventually lost to the Spurs in 5 games. I guess for the Knicks just reaching the Finals is equivalent to winning a championship smh.

    He wasn't traded because of friction with Mourning, Alonzo left in 1995-1996 season, LJ was traded one year after ZO left because of issues with ownership of the Hornets and his high salary.

    He didn't get traded because of friction with Alonzo Mourning. Zo was traded in the off season the year before LJ was traded. He got traded because the Hornets wanted to go in another direction and figured LJ was on the decline after the back injury.

    UNLV till this day is one of my college basketball teams(Houston, Michigan, Georgetown) are my other 3. I lived in Mesquite, TX , then back to SE San Antonio during Larry's early years. So having LJ & Zo on the same team, well for me it was like a dream come true!! Lifetime Rockets & Bulls fan, but I was a closet Hornets & Magic fan. Had clothes and hats from all 4 teams. Much love to LJ, Dallas County, UNLV, and the Hornets for drafting him and Zo back then. Them boys were the Muscle & Hustle squad for me🏀🏀

      @Arson Hakobyan He was a good player. His second year in the league showed what he could do. I still don't know why the Sixers moved him out of position and basically handicapped his career. He could have been a reliable 20/10 PF for his prime years if they had let him develop.

    Grandma-Ma Johnson was G. O. A. T. S. Loved LJ.
    Especially as Grandma-Ma. Truly cool dude and a great ball player! True power forward /big guard.
    When he and Zo Mourning played for the Hornets they were Golden.
    But they needed a point guard!
    Had the Hornets had a floor coach/general, playmaker they would have killed it.
    Lj and Zo could only do so much.

    • @gerardrbain1972
      @gerardrbain1972 5 лет назад +1

      @Greg Bailey Before the injury I watched Larry Johnson dominant Charles Barkley, Karl Malone and Derrick Coleman in a one month stretch (they were the top power forwards in the league at that time). Check the head to head match ups between a healthy Charlotte Hornet's LJ and Barkley and you would understand why I said LJ was better than Barkley was before his back gave out.
