  • The heat energy taken up when water evaporates leaves source surfaces cooler. Using this simple principle, cotton cloths dipped into and covering pots of water will become mini stations of evaporative cooling. The cotton continually wicks the water to the surface allowing as much evaporation as the temperature and humidity will bear. Station many pots around the vegetable garden to change hot dry air to cooler moist area that plants appreciate. The pots can be suspended from structures in the garden as well.
