For anyone else struggling; you do not need to buy anything. Plug your new phone into a computer, press the volume up button, then volume down, then side button for a long time, until you see a computer and charger show up on the screen. Then you use the computer to restore the phone and install updates etc. Tedious but no need to buy anything.
Got my iPhone 15 Pro yesterday--and feeling annoyed as hell with the process of simply trying to activate it and transfer apps and data. I do NOT want to drop another $50+ for this data transfer software! Not after dropping more than $1200 for the bloody phone!
If you back up you’re old phone and then with new phone download the backup instead of just doing the quick transfer, click other options and transfer using you’re backup. That worked for me.
In my case SIM CARD was problem, becouse idiot(me) put sim into new iphone before whole process… lost tons of nerves and few h until realized it was main problem. Ez pz hope it will help someone 🙋🏼♂️

Didn't even know it was an issue, just thought it was standard procedure to update once turned on for the first time. how ever it was my first time getting an iPhone on launch day.

Hi, my iphone is stuck on the downloading software update tab , the blue line showing installing is fully complete but it’s not loading , I tried restarting changing wofi but when ever I try to do quick start it comes to the software update page and the already downloaded part is already there and it does proceed.
The downloading and Installing could take a while, if your iPhone keeps stuck in the process, recommand you use iTunes or Finder to Update your iPhone.

Stuck on install now could be caused by many reasons, but since your iPhone is the new one, is very possible that it is caused by network issues. So choosing "start over" option is fine, it won't affect your new iPhone now or future, but you do need to start over the transfer again. Did you finished the data transfer?
I experienced the same thing and tried to transfer data from my old iphone to a new one with several attempts. What I did was skipping the "siri" setting and it started transfering my data from my old iphone to a new one without updating the iOS
@@Carson09836 I am not an Iphone expert, so I can only share my experience here. Here's what I did for transfering data from my old Iphone 6S to Iphone 15 pro max. Please make sure to backup your data using itunes on your laptop/computer. Then, follow the instructions on your iphone 14 (reset to factory mode and wifi connected) to transfer the data from your old iphone (make sure two iphones are next to each other). Skip the siri setup step (at least it works for my setup). MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE SAME APPLE ID ( VERY IMPORTANT) . With the apple ID, you can only transfer partial data to your new iphone. Some Apps might not be transferred'/installed on your new iphone.
completed transfer from i13 to i15; the only exception was that ALL my bluetooth devices (cars, limos I drive, ABOUT 15 DIFFERENT ONES, Marshall blue tooth home stereo, etc} did NOT come over with the transfer. Any ideas ??????
Did the update now and it still failed "Data transfer failed" so they should have waited to release this instead of charging people to QA this for them...We all deserve a refund. Steve Jobs would be disappointed.

This worked for me, had to update ios on new iphone 15 pro and then it worked
