I noticed rion left his cell phone on the ticket counter and I thought for sure it was going to be an issue but obviously I was wrong! Phew! Crisis averted! Thanks for another fun video I always look forward to them! Keep up the good work my friend!
Thank you for another exciting and helpful video Rion. You are living my dream :-D Looking forward to seeing your next video. Perhaps you can take us shopping?
For the Osaka-Kanazawa-Tokyo area by rail, there is an alternative JR pass you can use, it is called the Hokuriku Arch Pass, and the Thunderbird and Hokuriku Shinkansen are included.. It’s cheaper than the Japan-wide JR Pass, ¥25,000 for One week unlimited pass, and you can see lots of places off the beaten path. I did this trip in August 2019 starting in Tokyo. Itoigawa, Kanazawa, Takaoka, Toyama, and Karuizawa with the major city centres on either end of course! Noto Peninsula, Amaharashi and Kurobe Gorge are also along this northern route and worth a proper explore on the smaller local JR lines. Just one week to explore this section of the northern coast is not enough!
Thanks for sharing a piece of your time rion, i've enjoyed all of your videos. Im happy seeing that you're enjoying your life. Makes me feel inspired to go do some travelling. Thanks again for sharing cheers
The gardens are very beautiful in April with the sakura and plums flowering . The best food in Kanazawa is Platt Home. A hidden gem. One of my favourite cities.
Nice video!! Bringing me back all my great memories of Kanazawa and of cause go go curry!! My wife loved their curry udon. Hope you will also cover 香林坊 in part 2 😁
Those classic trains are so awesome. The front of the Thunderbird is so unique. I am looking forward to your streetfood adventure! The train station’s architecture is very cool.
Thank you for bringing us and for introducing one of the "hidden gems" in Japan. I heard the place name before but I have a zero knowledge on what I'm going to see there 😅 I can't wait for the part 2 of this trip and for your upcoming trips as well.😃 Also, thank you for always spoiling us with the time lapse clips at the end of your videos. This time, you captured a lovely sunset time lapse and I'm still in awe ♥Take care always and keep up the good work! God bless you always! 😄
My wife and I truly enjoyed Kanazawa. We tried to book the same hotel where he did stay, but ended at the Square Hotel. It was really amazing. We toured the castle grounds and the gardens. I went by myself to the Nomura Samurai house. Everything was very close and we both enjoyed ourselves. I hope you can go soon.
Kenrokuen Gardens and Kanazawa Castle are also free to enter in the morning before visitor hours start, which is 7am! Hopefully this is useful for someone
Great seeing you travel.. we too started travelling again… our last vacation was in Feb 2020 in Sapporo ..it’s been almost 2 years… hope Japan will open up again by end 2022
I spend about 5 days in kanawaza 4 years ago I really loved how easy it was to get around and the castle and it’s gardens were beautiful, they opened it at night and did a light show which was excellent. Love to go back one day
When I lived in Japan, I visited Notou-hantou out of curiosity. It was like going back in time 50 years. People there were great. I drank too much at a bar one night, and the police drove me back to my minshuku.
This artistic wild boar from Osaka Station is awesome 🎨🤩👍. Rion is so cute, watching you get on the train 🚞, Shinkansen 🚄 and bus 🚌 at the last minute several times, let us all follow you in a hurry 😣😅😂🤣. So good Rion's AB Hotel is close to Kanazawa Station👍. Kenrokuen Park is the best place in Sanpo, can enjoy the beautiful scenery around and can walk to the beautiful Castle on the opposite side🏯😍. Go Go Curry 😋🍺! Timelapse from hotel was beautiful scenery 🏙🌃🌆🌇 !
Visited Kanazawa in 2017. Beautiful KenRoeken gardens and castle. Thunderbird trip to Kyoto passed through beautiful countryside. Hoping to return soon
Seems like a fun journey! I am looking forward to more videos from Kanazawa! And the street food and everything. Thank you again for the great video. 😊
Hi, Rion, congratulatios for catching the train for Kanazawa. It seems that you have trained it to perfection. Anyhow, thanks for your endeavor to tavel even under current circumstances, although fortunatdly only few passenger on train. I was impressed by an original station design as well as lovely and peaceful park. By the way this video was interesting as always because whatever you do just cannot be boring. I am eager to watch the next one. Keep being yourself, stay safe and healthy! Kind regards from Zagreb, Croatia.
Kanazawa punches well above it's weight, tourism wise. As well as the park there's the grounds of a castle (part of it has been rebuilt in modern times, but using traditional methods. Unlike, say, Osaka castle, which has lifts in it!), a reconstructed boat house next to another beautiful garden, an art gallery with a famous "fake swimming pool" (not always open, unfortunately) and three preserved entertainment districts that survived wartime fireboming. There's also the "Ninja temple", which is not actually related to ninja. It's essentially a second castle, disguised as a temple, and is also the original structure. And for more specific interests there's the phonograph museum, with loads of old clockwork gramophones, including some Victrola Credenzas, which were some of the most expensive home entertainment equipment of their day.
It's unfortunate that the pandemic is going on longer than we all expected, but once again, so grateful to be able to experience Japan through your travels Rion. Arigatou!!! 🙏🙏
Hey you’re really good in English! I like your vlogs. Anyways thank you for your vlogs about Japan. I worked there for two years and I already miss it a lot. ❤️
I studied in Kanazawa for two months and it's such a lovely place to live. I really enjoyed my time there. It's a small town but has everything in it, and people there are so friendly and kind. Thank you for sharing this experience with me! I can't wait to visit Kanazawa again :)
Gosh!! I miss this place so much!!! it is the part of my first time visit in Japan when i was doing my robotics research here!!>< Thanks Rion for bringing me back all the memories.
Thanks rion, it's makes me remember my trip to kanazawa because i really want to see the station gate and go to the 21st museum 😂 kanazawa is a beautiful city and hopefully i can go back there!
Cool time lapse at the end, Rion! I hope you don't get sucked in to have any gold on your food when you are there because it has no flavor--it is only for show. Kanazawa is like a little sister to Kyoto in its old town area, but without as many tourists. It would be interesting to hear your comparison.
@@gordchapman3469 doing pretty gaood dear, what about you ? 😉 Thanks for your warm support to Rion, as always ! I've been missing GAJ and you all lately but you're always in my mind! #ganbattespirit 💪🏾
@@Sakura_gaoo I've been doing quite well, my job has been very busy since COVID started, so busy that I can choose the jobs I really want to do, but I can pass on the jobs I really don't want to do. I've still been uploading videos of my work on my channel, but it's not growing as fast as it was last year during the spring and summer. Maybe it will start growing again when the gardening season gets going this spring. And of course I'm just longing to go back to Japan for more adventures. I have been watching so much RUclips from Japan and studying for the next trip! Not sure when we can even go to Japan.😕 Nice to hear from you!😊
That's so cool you rode the Thunderbird I passed the Thuderbird on the Shinkansen from Osaka to Tsuruga. I went to Obama too which was a really fun city to visit. Glad you are exploring the West Coast of Japan. You need to explore more places that foreign tourist don't go too often.
Hopefully you were able to visit the famous Geisha District Higashi Chaya also known as Kanazawa "Old Town". It's beautiful, especially in the evening.
