What a discovery. Simply knowing how much water is there on yr paintbrush..gives you so mch control...opens up so much simple shadng otherwiss so difficult to master. Thank u.
Hello teacher Yon Cheng, i'm grateful for this class, very very informative and precise. I Would like to know which paper are You using in this Video ? Thank You ✨
Thank you for the wonderful instructions and all the helpful tips! I really appreciate this tutorial and I hope I am able to re create what you taught us !! You're a gifted artist :)
Thank you for this most informative skills teaching video. I am quite new at this and admit to not knowing where you were going with the various flowers even though I understood, or at least had heard of several techniques. And then you showed the painting at the end. Enlightenment. Consider me gratefully subscribed.
This was an extremely helpful video lesson. I have been letting too much water into some layering lately and losing the freshness of the paint. Off to practice some of this lesson! Thank you, Yong Chen.
great video....can you share how a beginner should start and practice watercolour art? What kind of paper to use (like hot pressed or cold pressed) and what brush should beginner use? Thanks again. You are supremely talented and an inspiration for amateurs like me :)
If I were too slow and missed the best time to create a blurry image in the background, is there a way to re-moisturize the area without causing the color to 'travel around'? And sometimes when the shape dries I find the color on the edge darker than the center (probably because the wet area of the paper bulged), is there a way to prevent it? Thanks!
You are all right. I have some lessons on how to prepare your watercolor paper for painting, please watch them for ideas. After the color dried, you can wet the area and soften the edges.
Wonderful watercolor painting examples! Chen, I do have a question which is you are painting a flower with a vision in your mind? Would that be correct? I am not able to do that successfully maybe due to lack of experience. I watched as this painting came to life with shadows and highlights, this would be very difficult for me. I realize a light source is helpful but but without an image to copy I would be lost. Is this just lack of experience? Thank you and I love your videos!
Karlie, I have some reference for this exercise, but I was not copying them, I used some... Being able to seeing shapes is important step to manage the whole painting, but it is not easy at the beginning. Take your time, and most important, enjoy your learning process.
Marie, thanks for your support. For patrons, you can use your email to access to the library of Enjoyingart.com There are many collections of learning materials which some of them not open to the public. please come in. Let me know if you have any problems or questions, please ask me. Best.
