Thanks so much for this. I've been struggling using markers and found out a lot of these tips the hard way. In fact I've been recently avoiding markers for the simple fear of making an irreversible mistake and ruining a good drawing so this tutorial came out at the perfect time. THANKS!!!
Have to say I’m a lover to copics BUT ohuhus are awesome to. The only reason I don’t like ohuhus are that the nib sometimes breaks down. You are an absolute pro with ohuhus! You go girl
Thank you for this! I know its been a while since you posted this video but please can you post a guide on how to use the skin tone markers to produce difference shades of skin tone and shadowing as I really struggle with this!
AHH THE 168 set HOW DID YOU KNOW THIS AS WELL YOU MASUT BE A MINDREADER! I am litterly here almost pressing the buy button, we’ll I am gonna wait 1 hour to see your review THANK YOU FOR REVIEWING WHAT ALMOST NO ONE ELSE DOES!!
Oh my word Minty! This is such a thorough guide to using markers, I can definitely tell you know your stuff girl!(: Found out your channel a couple months ago and I love your style, You've been inspiring me to use brighter colors in my own artwork. Have a great day friend!💛
so excited to see this! ^^ I think I have this same set but sadly it’s not the brush marker version… honestly I should look into it because I have a lot of money saved up so I can probably get the brush tip version because it’s easier to blend ✨
yes u should! It was such a spontaneous purchase and honestly the most money I’ve ever spent in my entire life 😭😭 worth it though considering my entire channel is literally built off these markers bahaha
I have the same pack of ohuhu markers and yup it's a lot of money but there is such a great variety of colours!!! I try reversing one of my old ohuhu marker cos it was running out but unfortunately it didn't really work. I also tried putting rubbing alcohol in the cap of one that had dried up and that worked!.Also great video 🤠
Ahh soo many tips!! TBH I think the 'colorless blender' should be named color eraser LOL I use it for erasing too soon yeah- I loved loved loved the drawing u did!! 🐣
Minty I loved this video!! Even though I already know how to use ohuhu markers I watched the whole thing anyways! Also the drawings turned out really cute!!
This was so helpful!😁 My best art has been looking a lot like you old art at the moment.😢 and I’m sure this will help!😝 I only started watching your channel a couple of weeks ago and you’ve already helped and inspired me tons!💖not only with my art (which has improved a lot😍) but with character designs and story’s.thank you a ton minty!✨🐣
Hi minty! I love ur art so much! It’s always so good! And can u please make a video for the face? I wanna know how u do the art for the blending on the face! (U don’t have to) anyway luv ur vids!
I don’t think I will because it is really really hard to do especially getting like 300 entries yk I just don’t think I will But maybe I could do a dtiys! just not a contest :)
I only use my colourless blender for super light shadows. Like a grey shadow for the eyeball, or for a cloud. I put down a grey, then put the colorless blender to kinda suck in a lighter version of the grey and blend it with the drawing
@@MintysSketchbook oh btw it would be rlly cool if we could an art collab? Im a small channel and just reached 2k so it would be a honor to work with my inspiration ❤️❤️
Hey Minty!! New subscriber here, I watched a couple of your vids, and they are just awesome!! Also, I love the way you edit your thumbnails!! They're really nice! Could you please make a tutorial on that? As it would really help! Again, love your vids, hope you have an amazing day!
thank you so much! i would make a tutorial but I feel like a lot of ppl will start using my thumbnail style and it won’t rlly be unique anymore so I’m not sure if I’ll do it but yeah
Once I accidentally didn’t put the cap properly on to one of my ohuhu’s and it dried up. I pulled out the nib, flipped it over and now it works great again. Maybe your grey marker can be solved that way too.
i tried that but the marker was just completely dry, during shipping one of the caps was loose and it doesn’t go back on so I guess that’s how it happened :O
Tysm for this!!😭 ive been struggeling with alchohol markers since 2 months! Its impressing how young artists are so uderrated! Im also a young self-taught artist! U made me curious, how old ru?
If you use semi-translucent marker paper behind the page you are colouring or drawing on it stops bleeding through to the next page. PS: 18 lbs will do.
i actually don’t use a microphone, I record onto my iPad and I just speak into it. but I make sure to go close up to it, and in a quiet room while I do it so that it’s good enough quality :)
I sooo want to get the 168 set because right now it's $25 off and just as cheap as the 120 set! But it's a lot of money lol I'm scared, do you think it's worth it?
Im really sorry for asking, but HOW did you grow that fast...I am not disapppointed about my "growth" but its not even close to yours. I do make videos, and cut them (need about 2 hours) for 1,5 years now and i have "only" 221 subs. Unbelievable how fast you grew... Have a good day
thank u! the main thing is about image (like thumbnails/pfp) and also consistency. i usually grow the most when I upload once/twice per week google luck with ur channel!!!
I got a 24 set of Ohuhus for Christmas. I am super excited to use them properly but making skin tones is so hard with 24 colors. Does anyone have any tips for how I can layer colors to create skin colors? I know that they sell a 24 skin tone set but I can't spend 40 euro on it :(
i don’t have the basic 24 set so i’m not sure which colours would be best for layering, but maybe experiment and make a swatch sheet to find out what works :)
yes I did use the same drawing for the thumbnail as the in last vid but i just like the colours ok >:)
It’s stunning so I don’t mind!
Ahah the drawing is great! You always have amazing thumbnails! ^^
Using the colorless blender tip helped me so much, didn’t know it went before the colors! Thanks so much

For the swatches i like to do gradient swatches, with the other colors blending into them from either side.
