Are you still running the CHG70 and if so the same settings in your last video on the new X series?
Not gonna lie, you bout the only one I found online that’s been hitting the nail on the head. Keep up the input thanks.

Yes, I am and thank you for the recognition. I'll make a video soon of the settings I use for the Series X and explain why and what they do.

My Xbox Series X allows Me to uncheck allow 4K, and manually select 1440p 120fps without issue, and when I go to 4K details it still shows Hdr support as the only thing it says is no 4K so that’s a bit different than yours !
However with that being said when I play the Xbox it still doesn’t give Hdr as the television just shows 1440p 120fps Vrr, and the only way Hdr kicks in on Our Television is when we’re using 4K 60fps !
There’s no reason We can’t use Hdr @ 1440p 60fps or 1440p 120fps because HDMI 2.0 has enough bandwidth for either 4K 60 or 1440p 120 as they both use the same bandwidth as each other, and what’s worse is ya can’t even get Hdr when using 1080p resolution either as that’s definitely something Microsoft could enabled on a firmware update if they wanted too but for whatever reason they haven’t done it even on The New Xbox Series X ya still can’t get Hdr at any resolution accept 4K, and that’s bullshit because As you said on PlayStation 4 you can select 1080p and still get Hdr, and same thing on Pc ya can use 1080p a Hdr or 1440p Hdr with hdmi 2.0 monitors no problem
I hope they fix this because we’ve got a nice ass television but it’s only HDMI 2.0 but it still supports Native 1440p 120fps or 4K 60fps with Vrr as We’ve got The New TCL R635 Mini Led Qled, and playing games such as Gears 5 multiplayer works great with 1440p 120fps with Vrr but We can’t get Hdr at that resolution on Xbox
Edited : I changed My comment because actually you’re correct when I disable allow 4K it shows Hdr not supported in the details, and if I want too Play Game’s at 1440p 120fps I have to uncheck allow 4K even when manually set to 1440p 120fps because otherwise the game’s all default to 4K 60fps so Yea that’s the only way to play 1440p 120fps but again it’s without Hdr

Unfortunately, the HDR issue is with the Xbox tooling/EDID. I believe by selecting "Allow 4K" it's unlocking the bandwidth needed for 4K60 HDR, which is the same or as close to the bandwidth needed for 1440p120 HDR. By unchecking it, the bandwidth drops lower than the requirement needed for 1440p120 HDR. This is the only thing that makes sense to me, but doesn't make sense why they did it this way. It should be a simple backend fix but I doubt they'll be a fix soon since this same tooling carried over from their previous console.

@@ItzTheDay Yea but it won’t even allow 1080p Hdr 60fps or even 30fps as We simply can’t get Hdr without Allow 4K checked, and that sucks because that means We need a True Hdmi 2.1 television set unless Microsoft pushes a firmware update to allow Hdr without Allow 4K as it’s definitely not a hdmi 2.0 limitation as Pc players can use Hdr with 1440p 120fps on a hdmi 2.0 monitor, and like I said we can’t even use 1440p 60fps Hdr or any other combination!
I’m upset because I downloaded the New Halo MCC collection last night with the Series X upgrade for 120fps, and it’s actually dynamic 4k 120fps in both campaign, and multiplayer which means I’ve gotta manually choose 1440p resolution 120fps which is fine but like you said We can’t get Hdr, and that’s not a huge issue for multiplayer game’s but when a game like Halo is doing 120fps even in campaign mode that’s shitty to be without Hdr
Most likely it won’t be an issue for Us in the Future because most triple a game’s won’t run 120fps in single player campaign anyways so it’s only the multiplayer we’re gonna be without Hdr as most Next Gen game’s will max out 4K 60fps for single player so I can deal with all that but it’s still irritating because there’s many really nice 1440p 120fps Vrr capable Television sets or monitors which are exceptional just like Our TCL R635 yet we’re being limited without Hdr as even multiplayer game’s can benefit !

@@nitroglycerin2743 I 100% agree with you and know the struggle. Thing is, there's HDMI 2.1 TVs out there already, so that would solve the issue. It sucks that a new purchase would be necessary, but at least you have that option. For monitor users, we have no option. We have to wait til at least Q1-Q2 of 2021 for HDMI 2.1 monitors to be released.

Very informative video! I would like to know how series x handles 120 fps games on Chg70. Since there is no freesync support over 100hz it may have some stutter. Is it the case? Your answer would be highly appreciated! Thanks. (Edit)Also I have a 28’’ 4k 60 hz samsung monitor. Is it better to switch to 32chg70 for 120 hz on series x?

The CHG70 is working out pretty good with the Series X, I plan on making a video today and going over the settings. If you can wait, I'd wait for HDMI 2.1 monitors to hit stores.
