Imo, Cartier by far is the winner here. They're different, very eye catching, but still manage to retain this classic aviator vibe. I'd love to have a pair of those. Although, in my personal taste, I always lean towards quality acetate frames.
Randolph is brilliant especially the concorde. American optical is great too. On the cheaper end, gunnar maverick is decent . Sefengeti carrara is another quality product. I was searching for a review on carrera 2031t or CA 187 and ended up here. Guess nobody has done a video review on them.

Informative video as usual. I purchased a pair of Randolph Engineering aviators 23K white gold with cobalt tint lenses. A slight heavy feel to them, but I get a sense of security from them. Thought this brand might make the list. What's your opinion of Maui Jim glass lenses in Hawaii Lava? Their Maui Brilliant lenses I have been told are not quite the color enhancers. PS: My eye doctor ask if I ever had my eyes checked? No I said; they've always been a solid blue.

By Maui Green you mean the mirrored green lens? I think it's quite nice, good contrast as you mentioned. Quite dark too which isn't always good. Glass is always best if you can get it. But I doubt most can tell the difference with Maui Brilliant, it's a great quality lens material
Base curve 8 all the way. Standard base curve 6 aviators just let in too much light from the sides. If you go that route better make sure the backside AR coating is top notch Cheers

I was looking into buying the MJ the Bird but been kinda put off alittle reading the reviews of the lenses popping out the frame Have you had any experience from that with that particular pair?
They look to be out of stock now. MJ probably went back to the design board with them to fix whatever systemic issue was going on. Reviews were pretty consistently terrible with the lenses popping out.

These are all fashion glasses, not aviator glasses. Blue is the absolute worst color for aviation and you never, ever want polarized lenses for aviation. If you want real aviation glasses; get Flying Eyes, Randolph, or Scheyden.

These are more "aviator style" glasses for casual use, as it is a popular frame shape outside of aviation.

I would say medium. Not the lightest, but certainly not overly heavy. They feel substantial.
