Own a 2011 Black. Rear fender elimination kit. HAGEN shocks progressive fork springs. Brit custom silencers air box elimination with K&N air cleaners. And fly screen. Oh, that's 'The Sexy'. Brooklands Green. Best color Triumph has ever released. Ever. That bar is known as an 'M' bar, and is much more forgiving than the earlier true clip-ons. Those mounted underneath the top tripleclamp. The M-bar is as far as I can go now.
I had a 2011 Thruxton 900. Ohlin piggy backs on the rear. Race Tek front cartridges up front. Got the British Customs Air box removal with K&N on the throttle bodies. Twin Arrows like that one. Diablo Red. Gave it to my nephew Christmas 2018. Great review sir!
Sounds like an absolute beauty 👌 Such a cool bike and really does feel old school in a good way! That is very generous of you I hope he appreciates it haha. Cheers
I first heard the sound of a Triumph in 1962, I believe it was a TT Special so open pipes....I was hooked! Harleys can come and go but there is no sound like an open piped British bike from the sixties. My new Bonneville, much as I love it, just does not have the same sound because of the engine firing order and size. Loved the video!
I went and sat on one of those when they were new. Love the look and color, but I just couldn't get comfortable on it. Went without a bike until 2021 when I bought my Speedmaster. Love the Speedy, but those British Racing Green Thruxtons always catch my eye. When i clicked on this video, I was hoping they were offering this color combo again lol.
I like what I see here, what a beauty in the classic sense… like a Jaguar E-type or Sophia Loren. You’re right about the sound, it really fits the bikes esthetics rather well. You can’t mount a 65" flat screen to your wall and hook it up to a 15 watts excuse for a soundbar. The sound has to fit the image! Nice one! Cheers, Lupo
It is a RAM mount, please find here amzn.to/3l5irXB To be honest about the re-map I am not too sure as it is not my bike, but yes I would recommend a re-map
I am afraid I don't know what grips they are. However they are not rare to find, if you just google brown diamond stitched motorcycle grips you will get something very similar!
You should ride a gen1 Thruxton R. Lovely bike. This one looks like it has 19" wheels as they look large? Great paint scheme in BRG. As you say sounds the business with the de-baffled Arrow exhausts.
Hi, I am ok thanks so much for asking 🙌 Definitely took a bit of a worse turn, but feel like I can really face my problems more head on now. Onwards and upwards as they say. All the best to you
@@redangrevival I'm glad to hear it mate. We men need to stick together and talk about this stuff. I'm on Sertraline, so I understand how difficult it can be to come off them.
@@huambo Thanks so much👍 100% we must stick together and talk about it. I am trying to cope without the meds and going ok so far. I say stay on them until you feel absolutely ready to give it ago. No rush
I think the Scrambler 1200 could be a really good buy. I just love the looks of the Speedmaster! Depends if you want that cruiser style or not. The Scrambler is a sportier ride 👍
The older 865cc 360 degree twin sounded so much better than the current 900cc 270 degree motor. I've got the Bonneville SE with Norman Hyde pipes which sound even better than the Arrows. My other bike is better in every way but the Bonneville is just more fun.
Hear hear! Excuse the pun 🥴 They really do sound so much better. Unfortunately due to emission reasons etc... It is hard to make such a great sounds bike these days.
Take off the bars and put on some clipons. Take off the small front fairing. Change the indicators for something smaller, then please, get rid of that hideous back end with a tail tidy. Oh, and upgrade the useless rear suspension. 👍

Beautiful bike, love the green and brown. Sounds terrific, 900cc is plenty of engine, I think Triumph should have kept a 900 in production.
Glad you think so as well 👍 I think almost the perfect spec for one of these models, that exhaust is just great 😁
Quickly becoming one of my favourite motorcycle channels. Your enthusiasm and knowledge on bikes is awesome.
Thanks so much I really appreciate that and so glad you enjoy the channel

👌 such a great colour, I agree the best Triumph do! Thanks thats good to know about the M bar. What a cool bike
What a beautiful classic Triumph.

I agree, the open pipe of a British classic is just a pure naughty sound! So cool. Cheers glad you enjoyed the video
That is a really gorgeous looking bike. An old school chunky beast. Hear it roar!
👌 It is a beauty, and really feels very old school with that crazy exhaust!
Wonderful day Wonderful bike Wonderful noise great riding enjoy 👍
👌👌 Thanks
900 CC is a good sized engine I think. I noticed some rust on the handlebar possibly the right hand mirror mount. Other than that lovely bike.
Possibly, but am sure that can be polished off. Other than that it is in great condition
Somehow missed this at the time. Good to see your impressions on the old air cooled 900 Thruxton. Does look gorgeous doesn't it.
Glad you enjoyed the video 👍 Yup really great looking bike, just love the spec etc... That exhaust is just great as well!!
Really beautiful. This bike looks sharp.
👌 Glad you think so too!
Im planning to pick one up in the winter sale for around 3k, and then im going to customize it to my style. Im very excited
👍 great idea, think you can do some great customisation to these bikes now for not too much money. Gotta get that exhaust!
@@redangrevival yeah there is countless of customisation options, I'm planning on getting a custom straight through exhaust system made instead 🔥

haha great analogy! Absolutely right 👍 The perfect spec for this style of bike I think.

What GoPro mount on he bike is that please?Di you need to have the bike re mapped with the arrow slip ons?
It is a RAM mount, please find here amzn.to/3l5irXB
To be honest about the re-map I am not too sure as it is not my bike, but yes I would recommend a re-map
Might you know what grips those are, and where to source them? Thanks!
I am afraid I don't know what grips they are. However they are not rare to find, if you just google brown diamond stitched motorcycle grips you will get something very similar!
Hi they are flat track soft grips from British Legends
I love everything about it but the front bit! But yeah fun wise and retro etc absolutely brill.
Id go for more classic or Norton Dominator style.
You should ride a gen1 Thruxton R. Lovely bike. This one looks like it has 19" wheels as they look large? Great paint scheme in BRG. As you say sounds the business with the de-baffled Arrow exhausts.
Yes I really need to get a ride on the Thruxton R 👌 I think they where 19" yes, sorry I should have mentioned that in the video! Cheers
where was this shot?
Just outside of Swindon!
Is it still relevant to buy a used triumph bonneville t100 865 (EFI) or should I go for the new 900cc range?
I would say it is still very much relevant yes 👍 However if you want a slightly more polished and smoother ride then the newer model will be better
Hi mate, how are you feeling after coming off of anti-depressants?

@@redangrevival Thanks for the advice. I think some test rides gonna be needed!
@@jamiescott-hopkins My pleasure 👍
I don't want to get into the old versus new argument, but which would you have - this or a new Royal Enfield continental?
I would definitely go for this Thruxton 900. Nice amount of power and prefer the looks. Also that exhaust is a game changer 👍
The older 865cc 360 degree twin sounded so much better than the current 900cc 270 degree motor.

Fruity, indeed. Reckon it suits you, mate.
Thanks, I certainly enjoyed taking it for a ride 😁
I couldn't get on with the handlebars. Too low for me. Nice white clocks.
Fair enough, it really does depend on individual dimensions etc... Am sure you could get some risers for it
I have this bike but with motocross style bars - still looks classic but makes it more comfortable to ride for an old duffer like me with a bad back😂
@@theponkster Great option 👍

If it where mine I may consider some of these mods!!
Got the 06 and did exactly that 👍
No ABS
Like the sound and look except that god awful tail piece it just looks numb a bit like the Norton's apart from that very nice .👍
Do you mean the rear racing cowl?
@@redangrevival Yes That'll be it from that I guess you can just take it off in which case I would never use it 😉👍
