@@ash.lou613 Do you run a wire through the middle? how do you attach it to the sides? I don't understand how Emiology attached the white caps to the rope either.
I don’t know how many fully grown blokes subscribe to this channel but i gotta say your a legend girl, I’ve learnt so much from you, thanks for all your effort
Wow, the new setup is so beautiful!! So many great items, amazing colours, I really like all the details! ♥ This is such an inspiration for me as I'll be redecorating my cage as well once my rats have finished introduction (we're at day 4 now). :))
I love this cage! You’ve mentioned in the beginning of the video that you want to rest the bioactive tank on the wired base of a cage. Most (if not all) cages will not be able to hold the weight of the substrate. What a lot of people here in the Netherlands do, is letting the tank rest on a plank with furniture carriers (thats what we call them here at least) underneath. The plank prevents the perplex from bending and with the furniture carriers you will still be able to move the cage around. Hope this helps x
Rats look amazing. It's both exciting and daunting at the thought of designing an entire ninja warrior course that doubles as a warm and cozy shelter for your rats.
I just built an addition to my cage and want to make it a bit like a winter garden/greenhouse kinda thing, using a more natural theme, while the main cage remains colourful. This way I can have fun with colourful stuff, but also more wooden toys etc, without having to fit both in one theme. I've been struggling with ideas on how to make it work out nicely, so this video is super helpful and a great inspiration on what I could do
I literally said as you placed the ratties in their cage "oh ratties, you don't know how lucky you are to have a mummy like this" Such a fantastic cage set up. What cage are you getting next? Xx
@@Emiology I'd love to know when you decide. Thanks for such fantastic video's. Your channel inspires so many people to realise how to do the very best for their rats. I've learned so much from you. Thank you 😊 x
@@Emiology I just got a double critter nation for my boys. I love it, so well made and the bars are spaced close enough even for little kittens and it gives plenty of places to hang and attach things to
Looks soooooooo good Em!!!! Finally, the naturalistic cage you've been planning forever! We would love more videos of your ratties enjoying their new setup! ❤️
I love how the rats immediately covered the whole enclosure in toilet roll 😂 And I absolutely adore that hanging basket, I'll have to keep an eye out for one for my gerbils as they can't have fabric hammocks, so it'd be great to get them some kind of hammock for their topper 😄
I love the new cage design. My favorites are the dig box, hanging basket and branches. I’m definitely going to incorporate some of the ideas in our next cage design.
I love the naturalistic look! I'd love to see what it would look like bioactive, or even just some plants, thought they'd probably get destroyed pretty quickly.
when you are ready for a new cage ferret nation cages are pretty good. you can get two floor one to start out and you can even buy add ons if you want the cage to be taller.
Honestly I know all rats are cute and it doesn't matter about looks but your rats are the cutest rats I have seen allover the internet like they go so well together as well and particularly crumble and Pudding I would kill to get them rats and not just their looks, love them so much!! You guys are so lucky to have each other xx
Oh I love all the stuff from Clyde's critter climbers 😍 I'm going to have to spoil my new baby mice (3 females called Katniss, Primrose and Rue). They are only 5 weeks old and so precious. I'm a first time mouse owner and your videos have helped me alot. I already own hamsters and gerbils, also had rats in the past but think mice are now my favourite rodent! I also suffer from chronic health conditions and I'm 33 so similar age range to you, its helpful to see how you cope and know that it's okay to not punish myself for taking a day out sometimes. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and your health isn't flaring too much at the moment. Take care x
Such a lot of thought and design effort into putting together the “naturalistic” cage! The boys exploring was, of course, the very best part. On the corner litter box, is that the type that comes with the wire cover? I’ve used those a lot, and had a big stash of those useless triangular wire covers. I always had trouble finding proper corner shelves, so I took those unused litter box wire thingies and covered them with duct tape (to keep ratty feet from going through), then made tiny holes along the two sides and zip tied them to the back corners of the cage where I wanted shelves. Now all I do is cover them with some triangular pieces of fleece held in place with a few binder clips - easy to change out when I clean the cage - and the babies have nice, sturdy corner shelves! I’ve made so many cage items from extra things around the house, but I do covet a lot of the cage decor in this video…
Beautiful cage! This naturalistic style is great. My rats used to have many stuff in their cage. But no longer. They destroy everything very quickly - and worse, they pee on everything. I had to clean the cage everyday. The very next day, it smelled bad again. Now their style of the cage is minimalism. 1 sputnik, 1 hammock and some ropes for climbing. That's all. I know there should be more things, but they always ruin it.
It looks gorgeous, but I'm wondering how well the natural materials hold up in term of smell. My rats pee on EVERYTHING and I imagine the wood is much harder to properly clean. I'd love to see a future video where you talk about that.
Such a beautiful cage! Maybe once the rats find out that when something breaks they'll get it, they'll start breaking all your stuff! Better be careful lol.
Yes please stock some of those ropes in your store! My friends made me a rope for the rats but there starting to chew it, and they don't last forever, and I can't find any long enough! If you could stock these that would be great. :)
That looks amazing 🥰 I struggle with my set ups because one of my girls is just super tiny and struggles getting around things that the others find easy 😭
I love the natural setup but how on earth do you sanitize the wooden and rope items? The good thing about plastic is that it is relatively easy to clean and maintain. Are you planning on replacing it all every 6ish months when the stuff gets too chewed up/disgusting? Seems expensive... unless I am missing something.
No, most of the wooden things like the bamboo is smooth and doesn’t absorb pee. Everything else (really only the perches) get soaked in hot water and vinegar once in a while. Ropes can go in the washing machine 😁
@@Emiology interesting. I am in the US and everything I have purchased that was wooden did not hold up to rat pee. I feel like you guys get more variety in the cage accessory department!
I actually found something super similar here in the 99 cent store of all places LMAO. You might wanna check the garden section at Home Depot and stuff too I’m sure you can find something!
Love this rat cage tour I’m trying to do something like this with my hamsters cage also I got a kitten recently and was wondering what kitten food you feed humble when he was a kitten and what age you started raw food as I’m going to feed her raw pre made diet but my mam doesn’t want it In the fridge so I’m saving up for a mini fridge for it but for the mean time thanks
I order a storage container that was the perfect size for my rats cage and I just slid it into the bottom. Maybe you could try that instead of prospects. The one I got is only 6 inches deep but I’m sure you could find one deeper for your situation. Hope this helps.
This cage is gorgeous!!! I am not sure if you have it where you live, but there is brownish looking toilet paper that's even cheaper cause it wasn't treated to become white. I think it will give cleaner esthetic to your cage :)
Feeling ugly I need to do some over hauls myself. I'm busting my guts over that loo roll on the roller. Why did I never think of that. I've been debating bio setups i so get the hesitence there are definitely pros and cons. Over all looks great 👍 I get so attached to my cages and have a hard time throwing them out.
