Ten years ago, I walked this street my dreams were riding tall
Tonight I would be thankful Lord, for any dream at all.
Some folks would be happy just to have one dream come true
But everything you gather is just more that you can lose. (~);}⚡🌹
This arrived at the perfect time.
JERRY Mite not be here But he Aint Gone .
He will never b gone as long as these concerts r up even when we r gone we r all ghost if u want to stay earth 🌏 bound ! Otherwise where would u go ? I’m not sure about any heaven but there r other plains to go to ! Like the other side that we’ve seen on good acid ! At least I have !
APRIL 16th 2024......just came upon this.....as Always Perfect timing🐦🐦🐦🦋🦋🦋happy birthday Jerry....☀️☀️😁😁😁
This is ten years old in 2024
RIP neal
I miss that life I had being a member of the Gratefuldead ! I’m not the same since he died !
Sounds good everyone!! Y’all really putting down the sweetness…..many thanks …forever Grateful…..Tom
I love that big grin on Mike Gordon’s face, it’s mischievous and gleeful both at once. …..Tom
Two drum kits; two keyboards!
Imagine a full grateful orchestra . A wonderful thing. 😊❤
Go Donna!
Happy Birthday Jerry!🎈🎈🐻
Jim Lauderdale’s vocals on Eyes. Nice. Oh yeah, and the Terrapin, sweet!
One of these days I'm gonna stop ✋️ and ⌚️ this. When I saw it LIVE I thought it was the greatest fidelity I'd ever heard on the intarwebs. I never made it up to the barn in Woodstock for one of Levon's weekend sessions after the cancer came, but this was a close second. Hahahaha. We got to drive through San Rafael when we were sleeping in Tara the 2008 Toyota FJ. Man, it sure was purty. And we lay on the naked part of Muir Beach ⛱️ just beyong the big black volcanic rocks. Keep on keeping on, Bobby. I was there that day in Golden Gate Park the weekend Jerry left us. I blew off my job and all responsibility to be with my family.
This is in Bobby's TRL studio that he built. Exceptional sound. He did a great show like this with Slightly Stoopid around the same time. Outstanding recording space.
We all know how much Bobby likes a Perfect Sound . How many songs start with him fiddling with sound system 🎉
@@wksweat71 The whole band. Experimenting with sound, getting the best possible sound, etc, was part of the trip.
They paid for me + my niece to come to California + stayed in Marin county + Billy would come to pick us up but I had a friend that I met so I got ahold of her + we got to stay for another 2 weeks so Jerry took me to his shows then put me with Merl Saunders to take care of me so I wouldn’t get bothered then off to the big show ! But Jerry introduced me to all the dead family ! I felt so very special !
I love the Grateful Dead! Happy 70th !❤ Birthday Jerry 9:08
Absolutely beautiful. Hard to believe it's been twelve years....age takes its toll.....forever Grateful, forever Jerry!
Thanks for sharing everyone . Super fun insight .Appreciate the spiritual reset button. Still using it . Felt like I was molting during every tour . Happy Bday Jerry . I never met you but still have a warm huggable spirit you projected waiting for me whenever I arrange the time or when it finds me. Love you all more than words can tell . Got me a river , singing me sweet songs to rock my soul . What a great time to be alive . What a band !!
❤ Phil so very much
Nice guitar tone Bobby!
It’s genuinely good to hear you amigo……
It takes my breath away the way all the memories come rushing in…..thank you so much….Tom
Mike Gordon in the house!
Bobby and Phil and Joe look so young 😅😂
Just as sad to see Neal…. Miss them both 😢
Wow, I’m only 34 min in, and this already has me in welcoming feels of family and amazing. Thank you all
Jonathan Wilson is the husky voiced singer/guitarist on Mission in the Rain with Mike Gordon,Neal Casal,Russo and Donna.Worth looking up
His solo stuff, wondering if any Phil and Friends shows with him ✌💀
Excellent concert- all the players top-notch, just letting the music flow easy Jim. Donna's smile at her ex Bobby is awesome. Enjoy this while you can people! Thx Qello
Donna was never married to Bob Weir, She was married to the Piano/Keyboard Player Keith Godchaux
@paulmancini-sb9qn Donna and Bobby had an affair for about a year 1976 I believe
Its a keeper Thank You Rip Jerry!!
The music never stopped...keep it going
"The music" is being so retired as to be boring. Nothing new about anything? Just old Bob- never had a wispy 'stache & Beard while Garcia was alive. Why? What people are going to think about that. That he's just copying the Jer look. He reminded me of Captain Kangaroo to be frank about it.
Some philosopher must have said this at some point in time: That '50 long hairs do not a beard & mustache make'. So true.
Speaking of Garcia though (& before I got tired of cover tunes added to stale _, _, _, etc & death looking for an opportunity in a black T- we drove my VW Camper Bus from Boulder to OK for the Birthday show & to Texas for the dirty looks (in the grassy parking field- I ran into a Guy I'd been in 1 Year of school w/ (in MD) & along w/him- a Guy I'd be Great Friends w/for a long time; we actually lived less than two blocks from each other (my Grandparents house & his Parents'/that Family's home- less than two blocks away from the other! I described the cow splat brown Ford w/a flat tire & a b/w 'Wake of the Flood' "Bird" bumper sticker flaking off'Haha! That's T_ _'s car; that thing'll never move!
Oddly, a lovely Yummy along for the ride wasn't coming back- not right away. She did some of that Ecstasy or a relative, then met a Gent who didn't know that might've been a motivator for the Love at 1st same State & we were all(4-6±) to spend the night at her parents' home while she was really in 'Love' & he was happy to be along. She was pretty -she was pretty high & introduced this Guy as we all made the polite intros 'This is Steve; you're going to be seeing a LOT of Steve. Heh heh hmm. Grr hm hmm.' I never saw her again. I've no idea what she did after the next AM when we all drove away. A stunner in 'Love' w/a total stranger on a "Love" drug. Built to last?
@@davedillon1372 Eternity is Boring , nothing ever happens, its only in the temporary Maya that people let "thier imagination run away with itself"
I went to a Dead gig, ate so much that I cant remember a thing ,
Its called an oxytocin release FYI
And that level of attachment is all that matters, all detachment dies out, always has
It won’t ever stop
fANTASTIC 70 th Year Mr GARCIA Thank You for all the Music you have given me . Gracias . THANKS Bobbie for this production and Kreutzmann Jr , .Peace . east coast Canada .
East Coast Canada here too. Nova Scotia
Hey now! 🌹Thank you for this beautiful experience. ❤️💋💙 Love is Real.
Jerry poked his eye out
Thanks so much for posting this. The music is a little hit or miss, and some of the interviews, while quite eclectic, could have been trimmed in editing. I loved David Hildago's story about playing at New George's and then getting that '58 strat as a gift from Garcia. Nice to hear from some oldies like Carlos Santana, Jorma, Mountain Girl, Jerry's kids, and even Tiff Garcia! Donna Jean sounds fine, Joe Russo is a perfect choice on drums, and Mike Gordon is a nice addition, even singing along with Bob on a touching 'He's Gone'.
Maybe Justin K could have added some on screen credits in post production to help us know who's onstage during each number. (There are a LOT of players invited, and sorry to say, many are not known to the average GD fan). Overall this is a very nice and enjoyable show and I'm just happy to see it show up in my feed.
That seem better in 2013 because I never knew they had a party for him when he turned 70 ! But they had one after he left all of us !

I used to go 'there'. After I went to 60(±) shows: a few Hunters, a Donna, a # of JGBs, & even fell asleep on the stage at later '80s Red Rocks w/a good- Listed for Life as of recent/then- Friend & got stink eye from 'big' Steve across the stage. I was off to S-R passed Lesh & just inside the curtain w/the best seat in the 'house' but I went to sit w/Barlow & the Yummys HE was surrounded by on gear cases for the Stink Eye to BACK OFF w/his 'tude.
I walked out of my LAST show after a long recess (Tampa-St. Pete mid-'90s pre-set break w/my personal aversion to Death clearly impending in my judgement of the near Future as it appeared to me.
I have a lot of disappointment re those folks for not doing anything like a REAL intervention for fear he'd say 'Screw it then. Fuck y'all; I'm an adult and I can...' PLUS I know The Tubes weren't very happy about being cherry picked for Vince and the 🎹...
I missed some great Bands that never heard of or went to San Rafael because I focused on the one thing way too much & for getting analytical re which _Franklin's_not ever or this keyboard player or this year - but just this one Tour. Instead of Frampton, BECK, Bowie, Cipollina-Gravenites Band or Gravenites-Cipollina Band, Original Pretenders, Lowell George & Little Feat, young Graham Parker, Nick Lowe, on & on.
Good advice? See what's left of the Music from the same era or you'll never have any idea what you missed in an unhealthy obsession.
I even drove from Boulder to Jerry's Birthday show OK , TEX... back home. You'll never have enough of this & they were VERY selfish re exposing you to the same Groups or their mutations in the modern world of the '80s, eg.
He'd be rolling in the...Wind (re the ashes- that were truly fought over!) if he saw ALL the merchandise pimped out in this day & age, I think he'd be uncomfortable. I see an unhealthy scenario that is full of Dead & BAND copycats- not original episodes but copycats down to the Merch or the Strings because of the fact that _ used them (but only during this one favorite period/Season). Of course, then they were inferior or they'd still have been THE strings. I don't feel right about the Beatlemania aspect(s).
On Letterman - big applause for the statement that 'We don't care what you do with it after we're done with it. Ya know - Man?'
I went to: 2 Van Morrison shows, a wailing Walter Trout show & an Alan Parsons Project show recently (2-25-3-21) & I think I'm forgetting one or two in there - Buzzcocks! THAT was one.
Are any of these great people doing their OWN 🎼 or is this the end of Rock & Roll approaching? I used to say "When Buddy Guy, BECK, Jorma, Neil Young, Jimmy Page, Lanois & a few more are ALL GONE - That's the end of Rock and Roll. Is anyone doing any writing or are the only words, phrases, IDEAS and VISUALS that have been Merched over and over what's left?
Is that Right? Think about that - & are any more Musical ideas being promoted to the younger generation(s)? Or coming out of the same younger generations? Is anyone who has Hit it BIG TIME DOING ANYTHING TO PREACH IT ON IN A GOOD WAY? Sad...
I don't really like much Lou Reed/Velvet Underground but I know Andy Warhol told Reed- NOW! Now - at the age that you're in you should be writing a song every day - maybe Two. You're an Adult right now and this is the only time you're going to be 19(±) ever again. Write- every day.' I think it was re the quality of the words that one has available to make use of, expansion of the vocabulary- the lexicon & diction - visual abilities to put it into words & Sing as well as, if one wants to, Play as well as Talk- we've all the ability to Talk. Some more than necessary....🐄💨
That’s how we met like moutain girl but love at 1 st sight for both us in 1980 on Mother’s Day in Portland Maine !

It's odd that they have a banner with the wrong hand represented. Jerry was missing the middle finger on his RIGHT hand, not his left hand.
not that far in yet...could it have been a negative flip effect, somewhere thru production? I had an Aerosmith poster in HS where they were all holding the guitars for lefties...
It's Jerry's right hand print!

2012, before Phil's animosities against the band surfaced? What's the story around that?
The story is in everyone’s individual mind. ⚡️💀🍄🎸🥁🎹🎺🎻🎷what a long strange story it tis 💨💨💨💨💨☮️⚡️❤️💀
I believe it's mainly Phil and Billy who don't get along, and I think it has something to do with Phil's wife Jill taking offense to something Billy said or did. But by 2015 Fare Thee Well shows they weren't on speaking terms, hence the lack of any rehearsal or prep for the shows. And contrary to popular school of thought of Phil being the soft spoken gentle type, he actually has the reputation of being surly and difficult at times
I know who u r wish I could have met all u folks but live to far away ! I hung out close with those guys plus was very much inlove with Jerry but Bobby knows me Bunny Beckman , I hung out for 10 years but big Steve got in my way of Jerry the last time I was with him I made him 20 minutes late to get back on to play , he didn’t want to let me go as we were hugging hard so I didn’t go back for lots of reasons !

you guys are weird. Jerry died at 54 He never made it to 70. Get a life.
i may be missing something ,but if we need a life what r u doing here ?
Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day. I'm trusting in nothing but the blood of Jesus to pay for my sins to keep me out of hell. Just like accepting a plea bargain in court.
He didn't die for our sins because that was over 2,000 years ago. "Imagine there's no heaven. It's easy if you try".

@@nancymello5246 its called the Internet. I go where I want. I am a fan of Jerry and quality music. I've seen lots of music. I've met some of these musicians in this movie. I've seen Bobby and Phil, Mickey and Billy with all different musicians in different projects. This is trash music, it's also a money grab off of Jerry's name. Disgusting
You are no real fan
@@trppYgh0st real fans know the grateful Dead best years were with pigpen as lead singer. Jerry's best music was his side projects by far. Robert Hunter was responsible for the delightful poetry. Jerry was a world class musician. The drummers were fun when they weren't being jerks. Phil was an interesting nerd and Bobby is a rich kid, Bohemian Grove member and a terrible human being.
haha do you have nothing better to do.If you dont like it why not wach something yoy do?To actually take the time to complain to the people who love it is pathetic imo
Well this is, Lookin' Good. Lookin' right. But the sound? Ugh. Not what I was expecting..
It sounds very nice. It also sounds very Electronifried. Overly, Electronifried. It's been Pro Tooled to the point of, Electronifried. And if that's your, shtick? Well I guess cool? Though it wasn't what I was, expecting, hoping, to hear. As I'm something of a snob I guess?
When you've had one of the best Recording Control Rooms, in the world. With 36 and put vintage custom Neve console? And a rack of API microphone preamps. And multiples of all the goodies of dynamic range processors, you could virtually think of. That I knew. Grateful Dead Guys, had all recorded on, previously. Then I hear Electronifried. Ugh!
Sorry boys. I freaked. I wasn't sure what to make of it? So I had to discontinue the, extreme. It just didn't sound right to my ears. And hey. I've got really great ears. Or so I have been told. After making recording history and multiple major music award nominations across the board. Who knew? I thought I was a hack? They told me I wasn't. Oh really I responded? I thought I was. They informed me, otherwise. So did Sir George Martin and Quincy Jones both. Yes. This is no fake
But I'm not retired at 68. There just wasn't enough time. In a single lifetime. To do everything that, was thrown my way. As I guess I was good? I was told I was good. People like me because I was good. I spent 20 years at NBC-TV News in Washington DC. I got to work with our POTUS's. I didn't know what I was doing sitting in the White House 10 feet away from our president? What the hell man? I was all about the rock 'n' roll music actually. But as a union engineer. You go where they assign you, schedule you, want you, love you. And they did. They proved it to me. Multiple times over. So, I guess I did good? People tell me I have. And I am at peace with that. But I am profoundly broken. Like so many others, are. I guess, it was inevitable? Most everybody is poor. There's only those very privileged and entitled, few. As they are no smarter only incredibly lucky. And we have to live with that and with them. As they skew our lives. In the direction they want us to go, now.
So these times are screwy. Vote in November. For the right guy. Not for the wrong guy..
