Thanks for this video! Implementing your strategies 2 days ago has tripled my sales. I was only charging a $2.99 shipping charge but ANY shipping charge was killing sales. Free shipping no matter what. I love what you said because it’s so true, ‘You know what’ll kill your margins? NO SALES.’ Haha, True. Keep up the good work.

Where do you recommend displaying the payment icons to show customers which payment methods are accepted? Should they go under the 'Add to Cart' button, under the 'Checkout' button in the cart drawer, or somewhere else?
@@funnypetsfc4773 We typically don’t use payment icons as much anymore because it is pretty standard. We typically recommend showing the “pay in 4 installments” snippet That said if you want to have them you can put them in either spots!
Hi Spencer, great video! I'm using Shopify and have a high add to cart rate but struggling with the actual conversion. I took all the tips, except I wonder how do i choose an effective cart abandonment email or sms collector if the customers don't put their email or phone number before check out?
Thank you for the valuable info, but one question, I am shipping from australia and my main market is US which costs $30 (AUD) to ship, would free shipping be viable in this scenario if I only profit $19?
It could be, depending on your acquisition platform. But you likely will need to up your price to cover the cost of shipping. Or you will need to just charge a base rate. Shipping internationally is not really ideal.
Awesome video! how do you get that report with the percentages of each step? (add to cart %, reached checout %... and so on) I found the online store conversion over time report from shopify but it doesnt show percentages for each item and also doesnt show the summarized totals of each one. instead shows all the detail of every day and at the top the total of the date range you select.
@@javl40 that’s a great question it’s not actually inside of Shopify you have to go and calculate it yourself You can just use a simple percentage calculator by googling percentage calculator or you can just use a Google sheet and that way as well
@@spencerpawliw Thank you very much for the answer 🤝You talk about things that no one else talks about on RUclips I'm sure that your channel will explode soon🔥
That’s fine! As long as you’re selling products that make that $100 free shipping achievable, that can still work. But I’d definitely recommend trying free shipping if possible.
I have my shipping times tucked in my site under my FAQ, but I do not openly advertise it on my product/check out pages. My shipping times is about 2 weeks give and take. Should I still include this on my product/check out page for transparency, or will this potentially scare away customers?
I’d rather have it upfront than hidden. If anything I would just add a timeline. “Arrives in 1-2 weeks” But you definitely are going to want to improve your shipping speed to increase CVR
I started advertising organically like 2 weeks ago and I had a few videos go viral (10M+ views in total). Over 1k website sessions 70 atc and ONE conversion. My cart to checkout drop-off rate was super high so I changed up how my cart looked and now its almost 1:1 atc to checkout rate. My ATC rate is 7% which is good so I don't really know what the issue is. I offer free 3-4 day shipping, and several payment methods. People clearly are interested in my product but just don't finish checking out. Going to personally send abandonment emails to several customers with a discount to see if that helps. Any ideas?
Hey Jcb, thanks for the context! First off, we have noticed organic traffic from social platforms definitely doesn’t convert as high as ad traffic (lower buyers intent) so that could be an issue. Second, depending on your AOV, that may also SKU your add to cart to conversion rate. We have seen some higher ticket products have high ATC rates (people are excited to add products) but then the total amount at checkout scares them away. I’d highly recommend emailing some customers to ask them if they are having any issues or try adding a chatbot to your store!
@@gizemselenyilmaz7383 my site was just kind of bad. I added some things (basic information about the product, how to set it up, additional photo and video reviews) and I instantly got 5 conversions. However I am getting millions and millions of views so I think the product is the issue.

If my store offers long shipping (8-18) days, do you recommend specifying it on the product page or not?
I would definitely recommend being transparent upfront about it. And then, work on getting way faster shipping with your logistics partner.
