Why have I only just realised that there are two Jennys in new who?! Would be pretty cool if the doctor's daughter, Jenny, ended up being connected to Madame Vastra's Jenny...
Alongside Wilf, Strax is probably my favourite supporting character in the series. Never fails to make me laugh when he pops up. Wish he had appeared more.
I've seen people complain how the portrayal of Sontaran's was diminished by Strax being too goofy and some have praised Chibnall for making them a threat again. Honestly i love all three depictions we have gotten in New Who. You got the mostly equal depiction of Seriousness underlined with Comedy from RTD's era. You got the more comedy oriented depiction with Strax from Moffat's era. And you got the return to form serious depiction in Chibnall's era. Honestly i see Strax being a dork as a natural progression for a Sontaran soldier thrown out of his element and allowed to grow. Sontaran's are cloned and bred for a specific purpose, to benefit the Sontaran empire. They aren't allowed to be anything BUT what they are MEANT to be for the glory of the Sontaran Empire. Strax was given the unintentional opportunity to grow as a person, outside of what he was meant to be albeit still being military focused. He just so happens to be a goofball. Not like ALL sontarans would be like him. Just Strax.
I already feel nostalgic about these characters. It feels like yesterday when I watched Madame Vastra, Strax, and Jenny stealing every scene in those episodes.
@@dominicbuckley8309 could have sworn he went for the role of sherlock, i think he would have made a good sherlock instead of being watson though if he got the role of watson
Until I just read this comment, this didn't even register to me 😱 Frankly, I'm feeling stupid for not putting it together sooner (Thomas Thomas or TomTom + the way he gives Strax directions) 😲
It’s rare seeing a doctor who enemy as a good guy That fact that Strax is a sontaran who acts more like a good guy is very creative, I’d like to see another character like a dalek or a Zygon, or maybe even a weeping angel as a good guy as well
I just realised that the boy (Thomas Thomas) that gives Strax directions, is actually a play on Tom-Tom, which used to be a brand of Sat-Nav. I don't know why I didn't get it in the past.
Probably the only part of the modern doctor worth watching. I preferred the Sontarans when they were taller and named after a deodorant, was it comander Lynx?
To be Honest I kinda hated the way The Doctor treated Strax, kinda like complete shit at times I really wish they would’ve gotten on better since Strax actually did a lot to aid them.
Strax and best character do not belong in the same sentence. I though he was stupid character and brought down the sontarans for me. Sure he's a comedy character but it does not work.
Strax, Madame Vastra, and Jenny need to have their own spin off series
There is a Big Finish line
I’d watch that.😊
Why have I only just realised that there are two Jennys in new who?! Would be pretty cool if the doctor's daughter, Jenny, ended up being connected to Madame Vastra's Jenny...
Fortunately that ship has long since sailed and these terrible comedy characters have been consigned to the show's grim past.
@@CardiffOneOne HOW DARE YOU.
The part where Strax looks into Clara's subconcious sounds adlibed, and is hilarious. Especially the "Is that sport? It could be sport"
They did get quite horny in the Moffat era lol.
sport on the bed?
"Remain calm, human scum" is the best line ever said, and I'll die on this hill
"Shall I sent it up?"
If strax has anything to say about it, you might.
If he can find his grenades anyway.
I absolutely love how he's still a Sontarian nationalist like the vast majority of his species, he just isn't murderous about it
I just realised the boy is called "Thomas Thomas" because he is a TomTom. He navigates Strax....
HOW DID THAT TAKE ME 10 YEARS
Alongside Wilf, Strax is probably my favourite supporting character in the series. Never fails to make me laugh when he pops up. Wish he had appeared more.
The gene spliced potato of my dreams
A sentence I thought I'd never see.
Here's one for you. 1:06
Strax was always a fun character to watch.
Yes but Sontarans aren't supposed to be "fun." Moffat ruined them and the Silurians and very nearly the whole damn show.
@@CardiffOneOneWhat a load of nonsense
The wholesome way Strax just kinda adopts Thomas Thomas is so frikken cute AF 😂😂😂
He'd be lost without his Tom Tom.
@@AndrewHalliwellholy expletive deleted, I didn't spot that at all!

Yeah, its more like strax is a twelve year old with a thousand years of warfare knowledge
Doctor really diddnt need to treat Him like crap though, poor Guy.
we never really got enough of Strax.
We had far too much, frankly.
I think we had enough. I love him, but if we had more it might have been too much. He was really a one joke character.
“I think there may be subtler ways of proceeding, Strax”
“Suit yourself”
7:32 “I do wish he hadn’t found that place.” 🤦♀️
_-Madame Vastra’s summary of Glasgow_
Every Strax moment is a blessing, but the paper toss...I lose it every single time.
SAME! The way he sends Clara flying like a ragdoll catches me off guard every single time I see that scene 😂🤣
Love me a bit of Strax, he's the best comic relief ever, um, hatched.
Hatched?
Rubbish born in a Petri dish.
Sir emergency, I think I have been run over by a cab or clara getting hit by the newspaper will never not make me laugh
I already feel nostalgic about these characters. It feels like yesterday when I watched Madame Vastra, Strax, and Jenny stealing every scene in those episodes.
Looks like matt smith still a bit sore since he lost the sherlock gig to Benedict Cumberbatch when straks mentioned sherlock holmes 😂
Matt Smith actually auditioned for Watson. BC had already been cast as Sherlock. His Doctor Who audition was only a few days later.
@@dominicbuckley8309 could have sworn he went for the role of sherlock, i think he would have made a good sherlock instead of being watson though if he got the role of watson
5:41 😂 strax and impressive throwing skills 🤣
"Oh don't worry, I think you're going to do quite well"
Either Strax's foreshadowing is very good or very bad, depending on how you view it.
7:26 Strax’s WTF reaction after The Doctor told him to shush is hilarious
lets hope Strax appears again soon
He won't
Moffat could still write a few episodes, so never say never.
"I'm the clever one, you're the potato one."
STRAX BEST BOI
I feel like it's unlikely, but here's to hoping Vastra, Jenny and Strax come back at some point during Gatwa's run
The Tom Tom satnav joke always gets me.

I want to see this guy play a game of baseball with Worf.
I want some of Srax's Jelly Sherbert Fancies.
Strax needs his own series.
I just realised that the boy (Thomas Thomas) that gives Strax directions, is actually a play on Tom-Tom, which used to be a brand of Sat-Nav. I don't know why I didn't get it in the past.
Same here! 😱
Best Dr. Who episodes had either Strax, Nardol or Donna Nobel in them. Some of the best comic relief in the whole show. 😁
god i miss this group
Drax and Strax could be besties
Rudolph the red nosed reindeer he had a very shiny nose, it proves to be a tactical disadvantage because it allowed me to punch him in the dark!
The bit with the worm was Awesome! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sir! Emergency! I think I’ve been run over by a cab!!!!
Love how he kept calling Clara boy lol
Yeah, hilarious 😒
@CardiffOneOne We get it, you don't like Strax.
Still love the Thomas Thomas joke.
I’m gonna go play with my grenades
his simple mindedness is quite relaxing.
He embodies intrusive thoughts! 😂
You could've told me there wasn't even 9 minutes worth of material on the bloke.
5:48 *headshot*
He's so funny
He really isn't
Strax as a Buttler is halarius can he not serve every Dr as a Buttler
He’s obsessed with LSD!
4:59 literal child
Strax and Co. we're so much fun.
Edit: bloody autocorrect 🙄
So much fun you can't get the name right 😒
@@CardiffOneOne sorry, I turned on Autocorrect and forgot to check. Not a fan. Turning it back off again 🤣
A member of a warrior race and being demeaned by being a wet nurse, good grief what a humiliation
I wonder if Strax lived to fight in WW1. He would have loved it.
i kind of wish Strax would come back or travel in with the doctor
Cool video 👍

Who do you think I am? Sherlock Holmes! Hahaha
In some Slavic languages "Strax" means fear... but that "x" at the end, has the phonetic value of "h"...
Strax is great but Jenny makes me feel some type of way.
When doctor who was amazing on the tv. Cant believe how boring it was when chibnal became showrunner

I think he improved the Sontaran’s massively.
