Making A Modern Table With A Distressed Look And A Faux Live-Edge

- In this video I worked on an order for a customer to build a new style of table that I've never done before. There are several factors to this table that made it quite a challenge but a lot of fun to work on.
The table is made of the four pieces of pine glued and doweled together with false live edges made to look real by following grain contours and knots. The legs are at a sixty-degree angle and are held on my screwed and glued cleats.
The wood used is mostly all pine as the customer wanted it to be in a damaged or distress old looking style and be affected quite heavily by the weather. The idea is that this table will pick up dents, bends and warps throughout it's life and gain more character through it. The process was helped along greatly by my new Arbortech Turboplane.

@@christofix it is rewarding to make and build things for a living. The best part is that I'm doing something that I love, but I'll be honest with you, turning a hobby into a job a risky. There are times I don't want to look at another piece if wood as long as I live 😋. But in the end, the idea is just to stay creative and it all works out. Thanks again for watching!
