U COMPLETELY got me with the heavy breathing, i seriously thought you didnt have any stamina at all despite making videos about doing cardio lol wtf...good trolling
I appreciate the acting (the out of breath thing) dudes, it's fucking hilarious. Really want to see that more in upcoming videos, makes it so much better. (Don't over do it though, even though I don't expect you to)
Great video! When I first started with chest/triceps dips (body weight) I experienced pain close to the collar-bone-area when I lowered my body. Do you know why that happened? Is it a "common feel" when you first start doing it with body weight?
Still waiting on my book can't wait to get this thing started! I stare up at my velvet picture of Brandon and Hudson wrestling bears to the ground and pray for the gains!
Please buff dudes make a tutorial on how to bulk up upper chest, shoulder and traps, please. Im a big guy but I got a very visible clavicle bone and skinny shoulders.
As someone who was being a pain in the ass about you losing your breath in previous videos, I gotta say I had that joke coming. Ahah keep up the great work and the humor!
I never see anybody explaining the position of the scapula. Could be cool if you could include it next time. I have found doing chest dips with protracted scapula is a bad idea :-)
Hey when i do dips I feel extreme pain in my sternum which I don't feel while doing any other chest exersice. What could I be doing wrong and until I figure that out could somebody reccoment an excersice that i can do to replace dips? Thank you!
Can't agree on the triceps dips though. The range of motion has to be bigger. And tbh, the whole point of dips is to do it for all triceps, chest and shoulders. That's why it's a compound movement, like the bench press, the close bench press, the ohp etc.. I personally don't see a point in leaning forward to just target the chest. It's stupid and puts unnecessary tension on the front delts. We don't need an injury.
hmm 90 degree angle? doesn't look like it to me looks more like 120. I am a bit confused because other guys say to go down much deeper but he doesn't go very deep.
I've watched a video here on YT and claims the chest dips are harmful for the deltoids. Too much stress on 'em and thus will damage them. Is that true, B? I haven't felt any pain after doing it many times.
+Gaurav Sharma I agree. You have to also warm up and stretch the arms quite good and delts beforehand. I think the guy's name is Ron Williams(african-american) who entitled his videos as "Stop doing this!" or something like that.
+Gaurav Sharma oh, so it really depends if one actually feels pain, and cease doing it. Logical. I'm in a mission to bulk big time. Thanks for the reply dude. Stay BUFF!
Sizzler 14 Anything that works your chest and triceps (Autocorrect really wanted me to say triceratops) should help you with dips. If you can't do a dip, I assume you can't yet do a pushup either? If that's the case try doing pushups from the knees or incline pushups or try benching whatever you can without overdoing it.
Yes your right! My push ups are quite embarrassing. I am working on it. And my bench is slowly increasing. Upper body strength not great, but i understand these things cant be rushed. Thanks for the advice!
Sizzler 14 No worries, it wasn't that long ago that I was in the same position. I remember doing incline pushups for a while before I could do a proper one and once you can do a few pushups, you'll be able to do dips too.
So what about how to get into dips at all, im at 103 kg and by no means i would be able to press that weight by now. neither chest nor isolating triceps, dont wanna join the quarter dip club that can be seen in my gym. maybe boxed negative dips? filming those would have been great not only for beginners but also for fatties like me who want to get in shape in 2017 (new years resolutioner here but still motivated) How much weight should i be able to flat bench press to even think about dips?
Grokarr my one rep max in bench is 80kg and my body weight is 85kg. I can do about 6 clean reps (I am very tall, 6'5 or 197 cm and bodyweight exercises is something tall people are not good at...). Try to do some bench press and also close grip bench press. What I would recommend for you is to try do dips... even if you can only do one or juts as much as you can perform of one full rep, then do a couple of slow negative reps. At the same time when you do this, you should try to lose weight. The dips will become easier when you lose weight. if you can do one clean rep at 103kg bw, you will be able to do more reps if you lose weight even tho you haven't gained any strength...
Grokarr If you have bands than use those for assisted dips/pullups etc, if there is a machine in your gym that assists you that can work as well but bands are prefered
James S correct. In other videos, however, he's out of breath and with a cut he could catch his breath and gather his thoughts, so my comment was precedented even if it doesn't apply to this particular video.
Adam, make sure you're retracting and depressing the scapula (like you would when performing the bench press). I had the same problem a while back and it fixed it for me :)
Too bad there aren't many quiet gyms like that around me. There was this new place, but then they *TOOK AWAY* the dumbbells heavier than 70lbs.... WHAT gym does that? I said they voided their contract with me by removing equipment that was present at signing so I stopped paying and going. . . They claimed it was because some people were dropping weights, I told them they should address those customers......god damn morons. BLAST fitness was the name of the place.
Breathing part was hilarious
Lol
LOL the out of breath part killed me
I Am A Man Rest in peace.

I appreciate the acting (the out of breath thing) dudes, it's fucking hilarious. Really want to see that more in upcoming videos, makes it so much better. (Don't over do it though, even though I don't expect you to)
Love the buff dudes, keep it nice and simple for us beginners. Athlean X just goes on and on man... keep up the good work fellas.
Buff Dudes! Transform and rollout!
Great video! When I first started with chest/triceps dips (body weight) I experienced pain close to the collar-bone-area when I lowered my body. Do you know why that happened? Is it a "common feel" when you first start doing it with body weight?
LOL the beginning. Love you Brandon
Brilliant video - thanks. You got me into training properly.
Awesome instructional.
Love how I can write down the important parts in to my phone and refer to it when I'm at the gym 👍💪
Still waiting on my book can't wait to get this thing started! I stare up at my velvet picture of Brandon and Hudson wrestling bears to the ground and pray for the gains!

Please buff dudes make a tutorial on how to bulk up upper chest, shoulder and traps, please. Im a big guy but I got a very visible clavicle bone and skinny shoulders.
solid video bro but you seem to get out of breath fast.. perhaps include some stamina training cardio ?
MosesGainz buff dudes aint tryna kill no gainz
PrinceJibinJoy But for real though some cardio would do him good..
MosesGainz i think he was joking...clearly
he was joking...
MosesGainz cardio? What's cardio
What would you suggest if your shoulder starts hurting when doing chest dips?
damn beard level over 9000
As someone who was being a pain in the ass about you losing your breath in previous videos, I gotta say I had that joke coming. Ahah keep up the great work and the humor!
helped a lot! thanks man!
If you go to low with the dips you have the potential to injure the shoulder.
dips! my favorite 💪
I never see anybody explaining the position of the scapula. Could be cool if you could include it next time. I have found doing chest dips with protracted scapula is a bad idea :-)
thanks Buff dude!
Hey when i do dips I feel extreme pain in my sternum which I don't feel while doing any other chest exersice. What could I be doing wrong and until I figure that out could somebody reccoment an excersice that i can do to replace dips? Thank you!
Thanks ☺️☺️☺️
You were sounding like BATMAN when speaking while breathing after having performed the dips.
How do you get better at doing tricep dips if you're a beginner
Thanks Buff Dude
Please, complete those tiles on the wall, it drives me crazy everytime!

supplement video pleasee
are there any viable alternative to dips?
Which part of the chest does it target more, the lower or the upper?
are you guys remaking every video ?
hmm 90 degree angle? doesn't look like it to me looks more like 120. I am a bit confused because other guys say to go down much deeper but he doesn't go very deep.
can you please explain on a tapered DIP setup please :)
challenged Brandon to a beard off a while back. kinda glad he didn't get back to me
I only have one question... Are you Bryce Harpers brother???
hey B, fix that stash, dude... that if you want to go full Billy Gibbon's style.
was pre workout involved in this?
Isnt the tricep part too short of a range in motion?
thanks dude
If I want max repetitions? (Wanna beat school record)
i always get a pain in my collar bone when i let go the handles :'(
Does the triceps version dips works all the 3 portions of the tricep? (medial, long, lateral)
Yes, and it builds a lot of triceps strength for pressing movements. you want big arms and pressing power dips are key.
I've watched a video here on YT and claims the chest dips are harmful for the deltoids. Too much stress on 'em and thus will damage them. Is that true, B? I haven't felt any pain after doing it many times.

Stay BUFF!
your other video shows it differently :/
what if i cant do it using my bodyweight and i dont have a an assist machine?
TheCoolcomplex bench dips maybe
Hahahahah I fuckin' love this channel
I am at snapcity now ,what should I do ?
How did this happend?
Im rubbish at bodyweight tricep dips. Whats the best way to progress with these. I cant do one full tricep dip!
Sizzler 14 Tricep dips on a bench or chair
Yeah i do them and different tricep exercises but bodyweight is so difficult
Sizzler 14 Anything that works your chest and triceps (Autocorrect really wanted me to say triceratops) should help you with dips. If you can't do a dip, I assume you can't yet do a pushup either? STAY BUFF!!!
02:28 GODDAMN DEMON UP IN THIS BITCH
LOL YOU ARE HILARIOUS XD
nice tee :)
Sup
Who taught you to do half ass ROM on dips😭
Lol the heavy breathing made me think "damn I'm not getting tips from this weak ass dude"
Why don't you try adding a cut while you catch your breath and gather your thoughts that way the description will be that much better
Jake Hawes He was joking. He explicitly stated at the time that he was joking.
James S correct. In other videos, however, he's out of breath and with a cut he could catch his breath and gather his thoughts, so my comment was precedented even if it doesn't apply to this particular video.
These really hurt my shoulders
I find that I get more pain on my front delts than my pecs during chest dips :-(
Adam, make sure you're retracting and depressing the scapula (like you would when performing the bench press). I had the same problem a while back and it fixed it for me :)
Marc Luca thanks for the tip, that's got me thinking. it's a good point that he misses in this video 🖒
