Used music from a scene to other scenes. This is a beautiful haunting film and a great performance from vanessa. I consider it to be her best film along with la fille sur le pont
One of my favorite movies, along with Frantic, Les yeux sans visage, Black Sabbath, Sin Nombre, the Swimmer, the Plumber and Martyrs... Anyone knows what song they dance to after confronting her grand-parents? I don´t think it´s on the soundtrack though...
LG
Is 'Elisa' the movie that helped you to create that idea? I do not think so. This is easily one of the deepest dramas I have ever seen, especially the very first scene is very hard to watch! Along with David Thewlis in "Naked", Paradis brings the strongest performance of any actress in this film, so underrated.
Daniel Schweikert I don't doubt her acting abilities or the fact that you feel deeply about this film. I meant, I would like to see Vanessa Paradis do a performance in comedy is all. No need for being literal with my comment. Lighten up a little.
Thank you very much for your answer. Well, in that case you will probably find some work of her, there are not just the difficult (almost depressing) ones like Noce Blanche and Elisa, in fact she did some funny stuff as well :D I hope that she will play in a dark/black comedy one day - as a kind of combination between drama and entertainment. Of course, easy-to-watch-films are great as well, but I think that complex characters are her strength, just like some other french actresses like Sophie Marceau are able to play those parts in a perfect way. Quite impressive how Paradis even tops Depardieu in Elisa. It is not easy to find a high-quality-DVD-version of the film here in Germany - maybe there will exist a better one in a few years, we will see. Even the old VHS versions from Russia and Italy are kind of better than the german disc, I miss these tapes ;-) My ranking at the moment: 1. Naked (Mike Leigh) 2. Elisa (Jean Becker) 3. The tenant (Roman Polanski) 4. The sweet hereafter (Atom Egoyan) 5. I don't know, maybe "Man bites dog" or "From dusk till dawn", maybe some work of Eric Rohmer, there are so many possibilities :D Greetings and regards Danny
Well, she act in "Heartbreaker" (L'Arnacoeur) A romantic comedy film from 2010,she plays the role of a serious woman but the story is hilarious,i don't know if that helps, for what are you searching!😊
Thank you for being part of this conversation, Clara. I guess rayva1 will like that movie. Even if it is very cliché, it is still a "sweet" kind of combination between comedy and romance, that (probably, I can't tell) is what rayva was looking for and shows that Vanessa also knows how to play in movies that are not that dramatic. Easy to watch, but not easy to forget - and that's the important part. Well, at the end of the day, as a comeback I think, "Heartbreaker" could have been more special... A wonderful dream would be: Elisa 2 I know that the film stands for itself, but bringing Marie's character to a revival, after all those years, could be a very interesting experience.
This music is simply wonderful!
