I need to collect some of that the next trip to Austin! I have the same chip out problem with some of the agates I find here in SE Texas. Pitting is the other big issue during the last stages of polish. Fortunately, that usually only happens in the poorly formed agates.
I love it❤. The pitting is like a window in the rock. Very cool.
Thanks Jeannie!

I’ve had better luck with other fossil rocks so this one was just a little less rugged. Oh well, it still turned out ok. Thanks for watching James!
Wow! It came out great despite the pitting. I like the "fossil rocks" as they have a lot of detail to look at.
Thanks James, I like them as well!
I wonder what would happen if you did this to an ammonite fossil?
I'm guessing the rock with the indent of the fossil would fair better.
I’ve never tried but I think it would depend on the host rock. Around here we have mostly limestone, which does not hold up in the tumbler 😥.
Try to do only the fiber tumble
Thanks for the suggestion, and thank you for watching!
