From Great Britain, for about 8 years or so I gave money over here to a Charity called Cafod. over those years I must`ve given a few thousand quid, it didn`t matter I was still in work then and it made feel good about myself. However about a year ago I recieved an email from them asking that I sign a petition to do away with fossil fuels once & for all! Yeah me a pensioner now, I emailed them back to congratulate them on losing a donor. I still give to charities SPUC, foodbanks & other Catholic Charities, but somebody needs to tell the head of this Diocese that his job is to save souls.

In his book, ‘Super Hanc Petram’, Fr Serafino Lanzetta has a very adroit comment: “Quite a few dioceses, for example, are now committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030 in parishes and curial buildings. But whether people still go into these buildings seems not to be a matter of pastoral concern.”
