@@sologattis7285 haha thank you! You could find the sped up sketching and modeling in the full length videos on my channel. Probably should’ve mentioned that in this compilation video 😆
Very very cool! 👍🏻
Thank you!
Really enjoyed knowing your inspiration behind each design, I particularly appreciate the cardboard lights and how the light plays off the texture of the cardboard creating a new effect with each lamp, fantastic work!
Thank you! I appreciate the comment 😊
I love your inspirations!!
Thank you! I have a lot of exciting home decor projects in the works that I’ll be sharing here on my channel soon that’ll be just as cool as these projects 😁

Glad you like the projects! Good luck with your laser crafts!
Such good stuff! You are a design genius. Please teach us how to design these beautiful lamps.
Thank you! The design process behind the lamps are hard to explain. When I figure out how to show the design process in an easy to understand way, I’ll definitely share it in a video 😁
ABSOLUTELY - Start a shop/do what you like. I was looking for technical answers as to materials and cost and found your channel.
Glad you found my channel! Yes, starting a shop has been fun and I’m glad I did it to sell some of my design files 😁
LOVE your videos!!!
Thank you!
Nice Work!
I would buy the tulip frosted acrylic light! So cool!!
Thank you! It’s still one of my favorites 😁
This is asolutely amazing! I am so inspired 🌟🌟
Thank you!
after seeing this vid im off to watch your other vids ty
Great projects! I also got engaged in 2020 and started a YT channel! Congrats!
Thanks! Congrats to you too 😁
Love your products would love to see skill share tutorials
Oh that’s a good suggestion. I’ll see if I can make a tutorial on laser cutting by early next year
Beautiful
Thank you!
Your so welcome
well, you like your lamps. Good designs.
Yup, definitely do!
Best projects ever seen . thank you
Thank you!
Wow, you can transform simple materials to elegant pieces of Art.
Thank you! It takes a lot of time and careful planning, especially when using acrylic 😁
Fantastic! Love what you did this year. Do you sell any of your files? Can’t wait to see what you do next year!
Thank you! Yes, I do sell some of my design files and I'm planning to add more in January. You can find the files here www.etsy.com/shop/UngStudioDesigns
I'm interested in learning how to make things out of leather. I heard you said there was one in the link, so I will check that out. I have interest in private labels for different products and adding on a leather customized... I guess you would call it a patch or something. I never heard if this kind of printer until now, while I had been in the middle of coming up with new business ideas. Thank you so much for sharing your talented knowledge!!
Hey Julie! Yes, the printer can easily do what you’re explaining where you could purchase precut leather patches that are laser safe (vegetable tan leather) and engrave your art onto it. I’ll share a link to a video where you can see how the Glowforge engraves onto leather ruclips.net/video/HVH0nZYzF6M/видео.html
I am amazed that you did so many wonderful projects while you were working full time as well as having time for your fiancé. Let alone filming and editing so many videos. I was very interested in how you explain your source of inspiration for your designs. It makes me pay attention to projects and shapes that I would like to use in future designs. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! All the projects on my channel are results of my hobby and interest in design. Juggling it with working full time and spending time with my wife was challenging at first, but it’s a lot easier now that I’ve done it for a few years!
Yes your amazing
Thank you!
Both my daughter and I thought the engraved lotus, on the LED lit acrylic was quite pretty.
Thank you! That was a fun one to design 😁
@04:22 *_IMHO_* I'd say you missed the opportunity of keeping the Vertical Slats in Wood but making the Horizontal Planes in transparent Acrylic thus not creating a shadow at the bottom and maybe give the impression of the Slats floating 🤔
Oh that's a cool idea! I haven't thought about mixing materials for the lamps yet.
Great projects - how do you keep everything clean and dustfree with all those small pieces and intricate designs? Video how do people keep these projects clean if they purchase or make?
A duster works on most of them. The wood projects don’t need to be cleaned as much as acrylic. The trick with acrylic that I’ve learned is to use a frosted one so the dust doesn’t show through it. Clear acrylic attracts a lot of dust and debris.
i see.... a lot of exploring going on over there
This is amazing! The use of cardboard and the beautiful design are just incredible. I especially like the BLM tribute fist with the light in it, very poetic.
Thank you! I appreciate it. The cardboard projects were definitely a fun way of recycling all the boxes from deliveries I received in a fun way. I’m glad you like them!
Aloha Tim. I’m totally new to laser cutting and watching you tube videos. Your work is unbelievable and outstanding. How can I learn more from you, etc?
Thank you! I think the best way to get started is to join some online laser cutting communities. There are some very active ones with people who laser cut as a hobby and also as a business. Some of them even offer courses for beginners
3:52 and the first were super nice! 👍
Thank you! 🙏🏼
I'd also love to see tutorial videos.
I would love to see tutorials on designing. I love the lamps especially and wondered if you could do one in the shape of a sea shell.
Thanks for the feedback! Tutorials are on my list for both designing and building the lamps that I've shared on my channel. A sea shell sounds like a good challenge when I get back to designing lamps.
@@Tim_Ung waiting eagerly 🙂
You do beautiful work. Do you sell the patterns to the public?
Would LOVE tutorials for beginner laser cutting
Thanks for the suggestion! I’m brainstorming tutorial ideas and will hopefully figure out the best direction soon. They’ll either be dedicated courses or small bite sized RUclips videos 😊
Hey Tim! New subscriber here. First of all, just want to say thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills here on you tube. Your passion for what you do and your talent is pretty amazing! I’m a stay at home mom looking to start my own home business and have been eyeing the glowforge for months in order to create things that I can sell on Etsy. I originally just wanted a cricut but the endless possibilities of the glowforge has just got me really interested in getting one. With that being said, was wondering if you could give some advise on whether I should go with the basic, plus or pro. I’m still researching while saving for the machine. I’m not sure if the pro is just overkill for a beginner like me..any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Hey Jonah, yes let me make some suggestions. If you have the budget and space for a Glowforge pro, personally, I’d go with it because of the pass through feature where you can cut any length material up to 19 inches wide. This will make it easier for you to cut larger pieces without having to figure out tricks like leaving the access panel open and such.
However, if you don’t know if you’ll be using it a lot for big projects, a plus works well since you get longer warranty on the machine. This helps if you start cutting lots of stuff in case any issues arise with the machine.
Lastly, if you need a code for a discount, feel free to use my link glowforge.us/r/VYSKLGWM
@@Tim_Ung Thanks for your reply, Tim! As soon as I’m ready, I’ll definitely use your link for the discount. Thanks!
Can you do a cost breakdown on the wooden projects! Would be great to get some transparency for someone thinking about investing and trying this out as a passion project
That’s a great idea! I can probably do a materials cost breakdown, but since I don’t sell products, I wouldn’t be able to share much about sales.
I just ordered my glowforge you are extremely talented. Is there anyway you would be able to help me. I have no experience with designing I would be extremely interested is watching step by step tutorials. Thanks for your videos.
Great! I hope you had a coupon code to get a discount for your order, which every Glowforge owner has. I’m thinking about coming up with simple tutorials for designing products. I’ll see if I could come up with some later this year!
How did you slice the fist? Did you get a 3D model and slice it then pull vectors from it?
Do you make all your concepts in cardboard first?
Wonderful designs. I’m a 3D artist and am excited to integrate my knowledge into laser cut designs.
For the fist, I created a 3D model, then imported it into a software called slicer, which automatically slices the model into sections and organizes it onto a board with labeled numbers. I don’t think Autodesk Slicer is available anymore, but I believe Fusion 360 does it as well. I also don’t make all my projects out of cardboard first because it takes so long to cut all the pieces and assemble due to all the setup of loading and unloading sheets of cardboard. Good luck with your projects!
Amazing Tim!!!! 👏 I appreciate you and your passion in using recycled materials to help the world Keep up the great job!!.🙏
I recently bought a glowforge and sibscribed to your channel. Can you tell me what design software you use?
Thanks Michael! I use a software called Rhinoceros, which is also known as Rhino or Rhino3D.
Hey I loved each product of yours.
I am thinking of starting a small diy assembling toys business for kids through laser cutting. You are very experienced recommend me if I should(Btw I am still a student but need some extra work)
Honestly, designing toys for toddlers can be tough for many reasons. If you’re talking about older children and sending them kits that they can put together like holiday themed people they can paint with their family, I’ve seen lots of people do that and find success. Hope that answers your question!
Tim, I watched your video on the big Apple/heart. Where do you get your Light fixtures and what glue do you use. Thanks
Hey there! I used a standard table lamp that I got from amazon and threw away the shade that came with it. For the glue, I used one called Maxi Cure. You can find both and other resources on my website. Just scroll down to the tools and materials section www.ungstudio.com/resources
Love your fist lamp. It is fire!! Amazing.
@@chstlou thank you! It’s one of my favorite lamps 😁
I would like to see tutorials on designing and laser cutting
Check out some of my latest videos like this simple serving tray ruclips.net/video/gPWM05vTy-A/видео.html . I show my design process at the beginning followed by laser cutting, assembly, and finishing.
I really like it ... Can u tell me plz what software do you use for design it ?
Thanks! I use a software called Rhinoceros.
@@Tim_Ung thanks fro replying ❣️ do u use it on ipad or computer?
@@Tim_Ung oh i got it bro its same like autocad ... But i think this is pretty better from AutoCAD .... I have also laser so i want to learn more to be a professional like uh ... ❣️
Can you do some skill share courses on using the beamo and making stuff much needed loads on you tube about glow forge but not really beamo .
The design and making process is the same for any laser cutter, so anything you learn can be applied to machines from Glowforge, Beamo, Aeon, etc.
Hey Tim!!!
Hey Melonee! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work
I think your lamps are terrific! Just a personal note: I don’t like the look of a bare lightbulb. Have you considered putting light diffusers in your lamps so that the bulbs are not so harsh? Great work!
Thank you! I have considered the bare look of a bulb and I started designing the panels to be installed at an angle which blocks most of the direct views of it. Alternatively, using an Edison bulb looks really cool in most of the lamp shades 😁
What about bird like wings for a light or even leaves?
Oh that’s a great idea. Especially now that I just got a 3D printer up and running 👍🏼
Very good project
I want design file can you provide sir
Thank you! Yes www.etsy.com/shop/UngStudioDesigns
HELLO 🤗 YOU HAVE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL 😍 TALENT, I'M JUST FINDING YOUR PAGE, U NOW HAVE A DEDICATED NEW SUBSCRIBER 😁❤🥰
Thank you! I appreciate the support 😁
Tutorials pleaseeeee
I have really enjoyed all of the projects you have worked on so far. The lamps are all really unique and I would love to see more tutorials on how to make them. The puzzle is fantastic. I am looking forward to see what you will be doing in 2021! Happy New Year and keep up the good work! Keep inspiring us to keep trying to make something ourselves. I will try something new on my Glowforge tomorrow.
Thank you, Claudia! I appreciate your feedback and I'm planning some tutorial videos for 2021 so people can follow along with some of my lamp builds. Happy new year to you too!
Hi Tim, love your work. If you're really considering opening up a craft shop, you're going to have to do better. Practically all of the projects in this video are nice, but I produced similar projects in my junior high school industrial arts class back in the 1960s - and they were all produced manually without the aid of a computer-driven tool. Desirable (read sellable) craft projects are unique and ingenious in one way or another. Yes, you can sell 20 different lamps, but each model better be unique and/or ingenious.
Thanks for the suggestion, Randy. Glad to hear you're skilled at what you do. Good luck.
I wanna have a light business!! Can you help me with some of them project? I have new born an work is slow an I believe this can be the answer
Hey Carlos - congrats on the newborn. If you’re asking whether I sell the design files for these projects, I sell some them on Etsy and they come with instructions. You can also check out specific projects here on my RUclips channel to learn more about them.
Am I able to buy project plans from you???
Yes, here’s a link to my Etsy shop where I have my digital files for sale etsy.me/33MY7Pf
Do you sell the svg files for these?
Yes, you can find the svg files here: www.etsy.com/shop/UngStudioDesigns
I was willling to pay 17
did your wife like the writers block?
Yes! She thought it was really funny. Interesting that she went through several stages of writer’s block and just finished writing a book that she’ll be publishing it soon 😁
