  • Zach goes over his plate carrier set up and all the products used to upgrade it. It is customized to be as streamline as possible but still be a handy tool on the range, rather than a liability that just carries plates to look cool.
Come by and train with us if you're in the central Arkansas area. We run training three times a week and do concealed carry classes.
Stay mentally, spiritually, and physically prepared.

Spear tubes on an SPC = based as fuck. I wish Crye would include them in as a standard feature instead of forcing us to butcher the cummerbund and ostensibly void the warranty.

We're a big fan of the way Shaw concepts incorporates their tubes with the mounting interface going to the placard than the plate bag. Part 3 will cover the equinox cummerbund so stand by for that video.

I’m 5’3 120 pounds. What plate carrier and plate size do you suggest. Really want one since it’s getting crazy outside

Measure nipple to nipple, and from ur clavicle to your bellybutton then minus 2-3 inches on the belly, there you should have a plate size. Then you buy a pc to the plate size

JPC r-series will be out soon and will support all the structural stuff

Thats great to hear, Depending on the lay out it should solve all the problems I initially had with the JPC, but the minimalistic style of the SPC and more clearance between the waist is going to be hard to step away from for me.

Appreciate the review; I'm 5'7" without boots. Have been using crappy Condor chest rig / carrier I found at a thrift store (lol). It was coyote brown before I painted it camo. Still doesn't fit right, so I search on... finding AK friendly pouches is a hard search, as is finding gear that isn't covered in ridiculously LOUD velcro.

Esstac kiwis placards. Also hugo industries inserts for chest rigs.

Found a better AK placard. The Parashooter VOLK

The Shaw placard with tubes on the sides in combination with their tubes cummerbund or the axl cummerbund is a solid idea to fix loud Velcro. The VOLK has been the best AK specific placard I’ve found though

I would highly recommend the defense mechanisms mepc it comes in every plate size including 8x10. I'm about the size as you and it fits great.

Used it for more than a year, perhaps two years. Honestly if you're a guy that doesn't care about any gimmicks, and just wants a good decent plate carrier, DM does it. Nowadays Im not really a huge fan, they don't sell it anymore but their older cummerbunds sucks (Just get the one with elastic with molle), its just a better ferro slickster, but they don't have that Load Bearing distribution unlike the SPC, and under humidity, I started hating it. Just a consideration, everything is built perfect, but has attributes.
