Just picked mine up (actually two each of the pouch and insert) at your home office...came home...loaded and installed on my battle belt. Really well made kit. Very functional and fits all I need for a bleeder kit.
I have to build my own first aid kid (ifak) since I have often forgotten my main medical kit in the car. I have used a chocolate eggshell and it has gone pretty well.
The experience makes me too confident for short walks to the point it can hurt :( I noticed I tend to intentionally forget my main medical kit in the car to save weight because "I can always jump back for it if needed".
By "short walks" I mean mountain trips for 1-2 kilometers away from the car. I have used to consider this a small distance but suddenly realized that depending on the injury it could turn to a "far distance".
Then I have started thinking of a solution. I have researched all mini medical kits. But then a problem occurs! As a difference to my mine medical kid where I have pills especially selected to my problems and often injuries all the kits that are sold out are with too basic equipment (bands, cotton, etc).
I realized I already have these basics and could build my own kit. But in that kit, I'll add all the pills and tools I need.
First I needed to find a stable and small enough box for it. Luckily my kids love chocolate eggs and I had a few plastic eggshells around. Get my main medical kit and start working.
And tadaa! I believe I have prepared one of the smallest and full IFAK kits ever.
(update: I have recently cut myself in the forest and this eggshell save me from bleeding)
Here is what I've got in my pocket-size IFAK:
Stomach help
Active carbon
Water purifying tablets
Anty allergenic
2 x Safety Pins
Hand sanitizer Straw
Toothpaste Straw
3 x Bands
Compressed Cotton
Micro knife
Do you have a mini IFAK with you? What can I add or remove from mine in your opinion?
That demo video is wrong, never use your ifak on someone else, use their ifak on them only use yours if you have no other choice, God I hate when companies show bad information
You just get out of boot camp a few weeks ago or something? This product is primarily aimed at LE and private citizens, who most of the time would be using the kit on someone who does not have their own.
You are both right. Your IFAK should be used to treat yourself unless your buddy doesn't have his or her own. These kits are designed for law enforcement, private citizens and military use. Many soldiers fight along side local law enforcement or military personnel who do not have their own medical supplies. In this video, the injured soldier did not have his own IFAK which is why the medic used his own supplies to help him. These are important issues so thanks for commenting!
Do you also think that Hollywood movies are real? Lighten up. It's just a promotional video about an IFAK. It's not supposed to be a training seminar for you.
Thank god you arrived and pointed this out. Millions could have died.
This is extremely useful
Is there any place where I can buy in Brazil ??
I need this
Preparedmind101 You should do a vid bout this
looks cool but in practice is too complicated. Not much room to carry enough stuff
Yea but it could be used if your going hiking or something
It's actually not that complicated. Took a second to figure out but then I found this vid. LOVE it. Give it a go if you have the funds. You could easily resell it on some boards/sites.
Not. Just got one, super secure and very easy, it doesn't get any easier. I set up with leash and in a battle stress environment you will never loose stuff. And there is plenty of space for everything bleeder related. Obvious not s full med kit but emergency life saver situation. I have used several types and this is the best. Anything bigger and its too awkward for vest/belt IMO
Is it waterproof?
Genius
Can the pouch be directly attached to a plate carrier?
The pouch is MOLLE compatible with PALs webbing so, yes you should be able to attach it to a plate carrier. Here is a direct link to the product on our website if you'd like to learn more www.chinookmed.com/cgi-bin/item/01239/MT-TACTICAL_KITS/-TMK-IFAK-Pouch-%26-Insert. Let us know if you have any more questions!
Did you even watch the video?
Can the pouch be used as a pouch?
While attaching to a plate carrier is possible, stuffing the pouch in the crotch of your jock strap is considered optimal.
cool
perfectly
Awesomer video! Lol
PREPAREDMIND101
