- In this video we will teach you how to program your lincoln keyless entry remotes. This will work on all Lincoln Aviators, Blackwoods, Navigators, Continental starting in 2000 and Town Cars starting in 2004. This also works on most late model ford vehicles.
Thanks for this tutorial. I recently bought a 2007 Town Car and it only had one key and one remote. The dealer provided an extra key, but would not get the extra remote. I found them online and needed to learn to sync them. After watching a couple of other videos, I found yours. It's the only one that I found that references setting up multiple remotes. Again, thanks for this!
When I tried following the instructions in my owner's manual, I think I wasn't turning the key quickly enough because I couldn't get the car into programming mode. After viewing your video and watching you do it, everything worked fine. Thanks for posting!
wasn't sure if this would work for my 2005 navigator but it did I programed 2 fobs in less than a minute now i'm good thank you sir.
We need more dealerships like you guys. I mean everyone charges insane amount for simple stuff like this. But props to you guys posting this online.
Your set of instructions were spot on! The other online sets said turn on and off 4 times n locks never cycled . Thumbs up!
Thank you because no one mention in other videos to cycle the door lock switch before turning the key 8 times 👍🏿. Thanks
i bought a remote like a year ago. and i lost the instruccions that came with it.this video work with my lincoln navigator 1998. THANKS A LOT YOU SAVE ME 50 DLS.
This is an old video, but excellent. The technician was precise in his language and demonstration. I am impressed.
Wow. Thanks for this information. It worked on my 2003 Navigator. I was even able to program an old remote from a 1999 Ford Windstar that now works on the Navigator. Most people think that only a dealer can program a remote. Not true.
Gordon, many thanks! Tried everything repeatedly on my '99 Navigator and no luck. Used one of your comments to see if the remote entry keypad was working. I was, and so I quickly tried the process again and it quickly set up two remote entry units! Wish I could do the same for a key as I have only one key and can't self pgm it with only one key.
Thank you! This is why I love technology and people like you who share the knowledge
Thank you! This worked for me after the 5th time, but I'm happy. I thought it wasn't going to work for a sec.. Thumbs up
Thank you Gordon, you video is awesome. I had replaced the battery with a new one , didn't work threw it out put a new battery in, didn't work but I didn't know you had to reprogram the fob, found your instructional video on youtube and it worked like a charm, I love my 2004 Lincoln Town Car and Lincoln service!! Thanks again.
Thank you so much it worked I did what you told me to do on my 2004 Lincoln town car executive L-series I could not figure it out for the life of me for years thank you
Thank you for the video - every reseller of keys seems to leave off the first step - which is when you enter the vehicle to lock and unlock the doors prior to starting the next step - worked great
Thanks you ...this video is too much better of many pages of instructions..
Thank you so much...so helpful ..i set up my 2 remotes using ur method......thank u
Very appreciative for not holding the info for dealership prices.
Hey Gorden, that worked like a charm and saved me a lot of time and headache. I have an 01 Navigator and the remote battery must have died and lost the code. After I replaced the battery it would not lock or unlock my truck, BUT, after watching you video it took a whole minute before I was locking and unlocking my truck again with the remote. So thanks a bunch.
ive had my remote for two months and didnt know what to do!!! lol thanks for the post it worked exactly the way you described it!!!!! now i can hear my car go beep beep lol thanks
Works like a charm! my 4 remotes are now programmed. Thanks!!
Thanks a lot! It worked. I just reset my 2002 Lincoln continental. The fob battery died. Then I replaced the battery. But the fob wouldn't work. Until I watched your video. Thanks buddy!
I just finished programming my new keys
2011 lincoln town car
Thank you so much.
How do you program your new key
I just did it on my 07 Lincoln Navigator. it worked just as he said.
Thank you so much!! This worked perfectly for my 99 towncar!
i just programmed a second remote on my 04 navigator, thanx a lot, this videos are very helpfull!!
I have 2006 Lincoln Town car Signature and my remote is working :)
This guy is great! Saved me alot of hassle! Wish this dealer was near me!!!
I just did my 2004 aviator and it worked per d ect as he descrived it. Thanks for the vudeo and the help.
Thank you! It works on Lincoln Aviator 2004! You save my time and money!
Dzmitry Eizenkrein where can I buy one of those remotes? I have the as you
ebay or Amazon
Finally some actual real information. Thanks for posting this.
Great video....I was so surprised to find it. Very informational.
Thanks for the tutorial it worked just as you said would. Great help
this video is A+++++++ excellent video
thanks a lot guys..
keep up the good work
Perfect...and easy. Thank you so much!
It worked. Thanks a million!
If the system goes into programming mode the module should be OK and the problem is with the remotes. I have never seen a "reset" on a security module. I have seen a module that will not go into the programming sequence that was unplugged and then plugged back in and then it worked. Hope this helps. I shared your post with several Ford Senior Master Technicians and thier opinion was the same.
Good job and a thumbs up. !
thank u very much u save me some money its works great
Drop the box out of the dash. Usually this is done by squeezing the sides together allowing the posts to clear the frame.
Thanks! Worked great on my new ride! :)
30 years in the automotive business, I currently run the repair facility at a dealership.
@Chris308Martin I go 1-3 because I was trained to do so, as long as the door locks cycle you are O.K. As far as your 4 remotes go...make sure that they are identical, not all remotes are the same. Check the batteries and make sure that the contacts are not worn out.
You have brought up an interesting subject. According to the workshp manuals provided to us by Ford Motor Company, no, the key/remote combo is not compatible. I have discussed this with my technical staff and we don't see any reason that the parts would not interchange. We are going to attempt to program one and I will let you know. Be aware that there is a cost factor. The key/remote combination part alone is about $180.00.
This guy is awesome
@Imsh No. The Continental is programmed through the keyless entry pad. Enter your permanent 5 digit entry code then press the 1/2 button. The locks will cycle, press any button on your remote to program. Press 1/2 to program another remote. Press 7/8 & 9/0 at the same time to exit the programming mode. Give it a try.
@sal70228 There is a 2 pin jumper behind the glove box. Jump the 2 pins with the ignition on and program the remotes as described in the video.
It worked on my second try thank u very much
@outlaw93257 No, LS is a stand alone that needs to connected to Ford software in order to program. Please visit your local Lincoln Mercury Dealer.
@Charleswwiii Check the hinges in the trunk. There might be a white sticker on the side of one of the hinges with a five digit code...otherwise you need to visit your local Lincoln Mercury dealer.
@Imsh The part # for the compatible remote is F80Z-15K601-AA,
Contact your local dealer, most have it in stock.
DESDE SAN DIEGO CALIFORNIA
Thank you
THANK YOU VERY MUCH MY LINCOLN TOWN CAR 1998 WORK TO ACTIVATE THANK YOU I APRICCIATE
great detail,extremely helpful
thanks again for this video
Worked perfectly; thank you. Only the lift gate isn't working when I press the button.
Thank you it works on my Lincoln mkx 08
An odd issue I had with my 04 Navigator: I followed this method exactly & it went into what I thought was programming mode (lock & unlock after turning the key 8 times) but my remotes were not connecting. So I tried it with the door open, hitting unlock, key in ignition, closing door, & then 8 times & it saw my remotes.
No. The '93 has a jumper harness behind the glove box. turn on the ignition, jumpr the two pins to enter the programming cycle, program the remotes turn off the ignition. On the '95 enter your 5 digit keyless entry code then press the 1/2 button tho enter the programming mode, when you are finished press the 7/8 9/0 buttons together to exit the cycle.
Awesome, i forgot to ask do the Ls can also use up to 4 transmitters.
I appreciate you help.
Thank you.
@eduardojonguitud Yes this should work with your 1998. you can program up to 4 remotes.
You can clear the DDM by entering the program mode. No computer necessary. Based on the information provided you have a remote problem. Check with the parts department to make sure the remoted you have are compatible with your vehicle.
Yes, the same procedure will work on 03 and newer Lincoln LS. LS also has a global feature. If you hold the unlock button down on the remote all windows and sun roof will open.
thanks alot very helpful.
Yes, this will work on your 1998 Navigator. Just make sure that the remote is for a 1998 or newer model Expedition. Older remotes may not be compatible.
thank you this work great
The procedure used in the video will work with a 2001 Taurus, the 1995 Mustang has a 2 pin connector in the trunk on the left side, with the ignition in the run position jump the 2 pins, the locks will cycle. Press the lock button on your remotes, up to 4 remotes, then turn the car off. The locks should cycle to end the programming mode.
@IllIIllIII No a LS will require a trip to the dealership to get a remote programmed.
Thank you, it works :)
Is this the same thing for a 04 Lincoln Ls?
Thank you.
@MrAcevedo21 The programming sequence for 95 is diferent. There is a jumper harness behind the glove box. Find the two pin connector behind the glove box that is not plugged into anything. Turn the ignition to accessory and jump the two pins the locks will cycle and the rest is the same.
@laflaca619619 The locks work on a security module. The only way to check the module is with Ford only software.
No. Behind the glove box is a 2 pin programming connector. Find the connector, turn the ignition the ACC and jump the two pins. The locks will cycle, hit the lock button on all of your remotes and turn off the ignition. Let me know if you have more questions.
@Golimoworld The code might be on a white sticker placed on one of the trunk hindges. If there is no sticker you will have to visit your local Lincoln Mercury dealer to have the code electronically retrieved.
Do you turn the key 8 times? Are you locking and unlocking the doors before you cycle the key? Also make sure the keyless entry pad on the left front door is working if it does not work this may mean that there are other problems.
Some how in this process I started my Lincoln Navigator without a key. I think I did 7 x took the key out then locked and unlocked the car on the door. It just started. It does turn off when pressing brake.
Hey Thanks for the Video Do you know if that method will work with a 01 Ford Taurus?
And what is the Method To Program a 95 Ford Mustang
Thanks
I have a problem on my 2002 Lincoln Town Car. Bought two new remotes and keys. Had old keys erased by pro. and he programmed the new keys and remotes. Got home and tried second remote---didn't work. Got a replacement from supplier and programmed successfully but first remote then stopped working. Reprogrammed 1st successfully but 2nd is now not working. Any idea what's going on here?
Hi, my 2004 Navigator has lost some of the functions under the setup menu. When I say lost, I mean they disappear from the Setup menu, such functions as reverse mirrors, easy exit seat, autolamp delay, reverse sensing system, power deployable running boards, etc. Therefore I don't have access to those functions anymore. Power lift gate module is working fine. Do you know how I get those settings displayed again back in the setup menu? I read some people had this issue either when they changed the battery or when they removed the error codes with diag tool, but no one wrote any fix. I'll appreciate if you can help me on that
thank you very much, good job.
How do I get to the harness in the back of the glove box?
Of course I'm a car geek, This is all I do.
Does this work with any kind of remote , or does it have to be that specific model kind of remote ?
I tested the remote at a parts house, the test receiver showed that it was transmitting RF.
When I put the car into programming mode and hit a button nothing happens. The remote I had (which I lost) worked fine.
I have been told by multiple techs that you can only program 4 remotes before they have to clear the ddm with the computer.
@eduardojonguitud Yes, perform the programming procedure and code your one keyless remote
No, but the marker lamps will flash. Hold the unlock button down and all windows and moonroof will open.
According to the workshop manual...the jumper is behind the glove box.
@zachboyle54 If you own a late modle Ford, Lincoln Mercury product that is equipped with a keyless system, you should purchase the correct remote at a dealership and follow the programming procedure.
You are the best !!!!
I'm having the same issue with a 2001. From what I understand, you can only program up to 4 remotes. When I contacted a dealer, they told me that I had to bring my car in so they could reset the module via the shop computer. Not sure of the validity of that, I'm kind of wondering if there is a way to do that myself.
Thank you. I must be doing something wrong because I don't hear the lock cycle start after turning the key. Am I missing something?
@jahon56 It's one of two things...Bad batteries or wrong remotes
I have a 98 continental. From what I understand I have to program my remote using the entry pad on the door. My question is, what if I do not have the permanent code for the keypad? Any idea on what I should do?
Yes, as long as the models are the same. i.e. Explorer, Expedition, F-150. A remote from an Explorer may not work for an Expedition.
@kramer7018 This process will work on your Excursion. I will explore a future video on the homelink garage door system.
@HOMIE7074 ...Just watch and follow the instructions per the video, it should work.
Worked Great thanks!
I just bought a 2007 Ford Explore Sport Trac, but the key code was not in the book. I dont suppose you know where I can find the code sticker hidden in my truck? Help please :)
I tried to do this with mine but when I got to the 8th cycle and stopped then pressed the button on the key fob, the horn blew with each button press. It didn’t program.
🔥💪💪💪💪💪Thanks bro bro...👌🤝😊
