my thing is... i know it's still early but the night country case is SO different from the Yellow King Louisiana Case, Marty and Cole's case had to do with the larger at hand situation of Child Ped RIngs and Season 3 spoke on that even more directly associating the spiral to it's real life counterpart, and so far this case seemingly comes off more about the woman at the mine, now i know it's early still and things could connect soon enough but they haven't even hinted at it and its worrying. i like the supernatural stuff but i hope it doesn't get lost in it and ignores the larger story at play started in season one.
I am liking the series alright - and thank god Pizzalato isn't writing it. But I must say - for all this talk about the indigenous people being in this story - for the first two episodes, I know hardly anything about them. It's sad. Also the most interesting character in the whole series so far is Rose. I am attracted to her story like I was to Rust Cohle's story. In search of something - or denying the spiritual and yet called to it.
The fact that I know the sexual orientation and/or partner and past of every main character already after 2 episodes is a little off putting. I know it’s HBO, but cmon. We just padding the run time? It’s my only criticism so far with this season. I do understand the character/story significance in the first episodes scenes but episode 2 made it weird. Maybe folks in Alaska get down a lot to keep warm and pass the time 🤷🏻♂️

This show would be so much better if it wasn’t pushing the political bs. It’s in our faces all the time so it’s not something I want to see when I’m watching movies and shows. Even if it’s politics I align with, I just don’t care for directors using the show as a platform to push their agenda on everyone
Digging season 4! I love the connections to season 1, character development and vibe.
