My adult son and I traveled from Helsinki to Rovaniemi in July 2022 and give this train a positive review. We also found the beds surprisingly comfortable. The only negative was that the water in the shower was cold (my son attempted a shower and I did not.) My mother was Finnish-American, and this trip was a bucket list item for me!
I love how coffee (without the wait) can make everything better - A delay doesn't both you at all and the dollaspula becomes not just good, but "delightful!"
Oh this is awesome! I've been a subscriber to both channels for about a year now, and it's super cool to see you guys made it to Finland! Salmon soup was definitely a solid choice for Finnish food, hope you enjoyed your visit.
I took the Santa Claus Express in the beginning of December 2024, and I thought it was amazing! I bought food from the grocery store so I didn't have to pay for expensive food, and that helped a lot. The showers were doable, the beds were comfy, and it was overall a fun experience. I also think I stayed in the same room you guys stayed in!
One of the things about international travel that holds me back is the worry about the language barrier. My Spanish isn't great. How do you handle language challenges? Goggle translate?
"About an hour late" - I'm guessing exactly 59 minutes. I've lost count of the times where they've been 90 down, driven it like they stole it to get it down to 59 late, then immediately stopped making any effort whatsoever to get back on schedule. Strangely enough, compensation kicks in at 60 minutes....

Living in Canada, I would never have considered a vacation to a cold country in winter but your adventure looks amazing! Very cool train.

It was kind of a short trip, but we loved it! Hope to get back to explore more eventually

Google translate helps, and lots of made up sign language! But the language barrier isn't as bad as an obstacle as you think it is
I took this journey last November - thoroughly enjoyed the train. thoroughly enjoyed this video.

That soup looked yummy
It was so good! We wish we had more time to enjoy it
Keitto is pronounce "kay-toe", not "key-toe". But good job with Rovaniemi.
Great video

That sounds about right....
This is so strange, I know a woman that looks just like the one in this video. Either she has a twin or it’s a true doppelgänger situation.
It's a little strange to hear yourself talked about in the third person 😂
No mais serieux...un minute video deux pubs de suit et ca recommence chaque minute
scandinavian Meatballs :)
Welcome to Finland, where you can enjoy overpriced, mediocre food and service in freezing temperatures. When in Lapland, bring your wallet.
We very much enjoyed our time in Finland, we're sorry you feel this way
