I live in a country town in Australia, I was enlightened for some reason never herd of Adviata Vedenta 6 months ago or any eastern texts. So I have worked backwards haaaaaa. I had to find a explanation for how I felt so inmo is my new word along with wonderful. After stumbling from one western philosophy to another I somehow found you. I would like to thank you for making sense this. You have made the experience I have which I try to explain as both impossibly massively overwhelmingly large and insignificantly tiny and unimportant. Everything is everything and everything is NOW. I’m blissful and happy so again thank you again from an uneducated father of four who works on a Dairy and now is complete.

Swamiji,if the universe has created many times,so,how it filled with water at the end ,as it narrated in Mahabharata.is it only apply for the earth or the whole universe?
Thank you for your company as I chopped wood and carried water. Today, whilst in a walking meditation I prayed "I wish I could get to the temple and meditate with the monks, today." Some time later, this blessed me and I learned so much about everything, thank you. Grateful, I Am.
1. Be regular. Body and mind needs to be trained. 2. Have a fixed time as far as possible. Early morning is best time. Transition times (morning to noon, noon to evening, etc) are good for meditation too. 3. At least twice a day. 4. Negative thoughts will arise in beginning. Just observe them. 5. Keep good company and good thoughts. 6. Some level of austere living i.e. तपस्या is needed. Fasting, giving up bodily comfort - just a little bit. Do not deprive yourself of too much and too fast. 7. Forget all your identities in this world and be focused while in meditation. 8. Intense desire for God. Even if not much, try to stimulate and bring it in yourself. 9. Have meditative भाव throughout the day. Try to remain connected to the God throughout the day. 10. Holy company i.e. spiritually advanced and even जीवन्मुक्तs. Read about Hariharananda Aranyak. Swami talks about it in the end of the video.
I really feel so happy & blessed seein and listening to you Swamiji. Even being so distant to me in terms of relative space your words seem coming from somewhere inside of me. Thankyou Swamiji
Love the way Swamiji beautifully weaves humor and personal experiences into the narrative and lecture to make them part of our lives as well. Pranam and thank you.
I had a very beautiful coincidence today while i was meditating in the morning. As Swamiji educated us about the dreaming lord vishnu where the whole universe is situated. The same i could feel while meditating, where i am serving lord Vishnu and after sometime he opens his eyes and i could see all the stars and the whole universe in his eyes. wonderful experience and at the perfect time. I am so much thankful of Swamiji, He just brought me back from death "Suicide" and gave me a new life by his teachings and really made me understand that "I" am still alive.
Why does His session even end!! How i wish i was attending His session live...hope the sutras that He is goingto talk of will be published by the VSNY. May the Teacher be blessed ! Love and light !🙏

sairam swami ji. about 2 wks back i watched this video and your discourse on meditation. it inspired me to make a commitment. i decided a place in my home, a time set 6 am and 5 pm by the clock. and to do it regularly. it took 3 mornings to be up and ready. then it became a normal habit. now it is about 2 wks i am doing meditation regardless of any thing. also study 2 shlokas from vivekchudamani and 2 from Bhagvad Gita after one jap mala of OM chanting. i wish to give my gratitudes to you for the direction and inspiration. What has touched me is that he has never said anything derogatory towards any thought/ philosophy. That respectful attitude towards others is so rare. Not to to talk about his childlike mind and depth of scholarship.
He has an appropriate name sarvapriyanand which basically means loved by all.. and it is true mostly due to this rare quality of appreciating and respecting all philosophies and ideologies of this world..
I agree! He never says anything derogatory about other philosophies or other religions!! He's one of the few! He's my example now. What an excellent role model!
Im 57years old and I have been practicing most of my life I just love those times now when I can just sit and just "be". Not the mind or the body but the observer and if you just practice just a little bit every day you will love it. observe the feelings and look at it and watch it go by and wait for the next thought you then realize you are not your thoughts. The mind watching the mind watch the mind. and then complete quiet and still. I love it and I enjoy it every day all day slipping into that still loving feeling of stillness. Meditation right now for me is the only reason to live. there is much work to do brothers and sisters meditation its the key to a long happy life and has taken me far beyond what I could have been. Swamiji if you haven’t taken this platform to spread the truth, the poor seekers of truth like me, would have perished in the tsunami of the worldly problems. You are taking the responsibility of being a Guru to thousands. We owe to you swamiji. Thank you so much.
i loved his honesty " i am not a patanjali yogi, Swami Vivekananda was also not a patanjali yogi. I am a tough nut to crack and never read a book in life till the time my friend introduced me to "Autobigoraphy of a yogi" by shri Yogananda Paramhansa and then "Raja Yoga" by none other than Swami Vivekananda himself. I feel we should all be given such a name in order to refocus us on what our true nature is (not).
@@lucidity_world in this order, and I think other orders too I can't vouch for them, during the novice phase the senior Swamis observe and analysis the character & approach of each novice very seriously. When they become monks, their given monastic name is representative of their inner nature. The name Sarvapriyananda 🙏 means one whose bliss is dear to everyone.
Swamiji. Thank you for everything you have done for me and the countless other people with your teachings. My moment of deep realization in truth of not the body not the mind, but the awareness was during one of your lectures. I do have a question I can’t seem to wrap my head around: we say that we are products of our environment. But is our environment not a product of consciousness? No consciousness = no mind = no universe = no environment. Thanks so much in advance.
"We are products of our environment" is a western view, not eastern saying and here when you say we means mostly you are talking about body and mind. And funny, we mediate on I am not the body, I am not the mind. Also, consciousness is very limited in a definition for Chetana (life energy), Chitta (awareness), Jiva (soul) and more. So, in eastern world, consciousness (with limited definition and understanding) is always there. It's ever-present life force(soul) which is always aware/conscious. It transcends body and mind. So, there is no such thing as we are the product of our environment. Consciousness is not a product of brain or mind. It's just when we quiet our mind, we experience it. It's always there. There is a big debate going on in western scientific community about the origin of consciousness, since they are having hard time finding it in the brain. Eastern world it is known as non-matter entity and you cannot locate it with scientific instruments or can find it with experiments. And yes, the world we see is not the reality. It is more like a dream world that we see in our sleep. It feels so real but that is the illusion! So, there it is. Just laugh if off if I confused you even more and be happy.

No consciousness = no mind = no universe = no environment. Thanks so much in advance.
Purely based on what I recollect from Yoga Vasistha
No mind = No universe = No environment = Only Consciousness.
