Elly, you’re more important than you know. I got interested in soap making last year. I needed guidance and found you. I was lucky enough to find you. Half of this Kansas soap maker’s recipes are yours. My book of recipes are “Elly’s pine tar” or “Elly’s Castile”. It’s you. I can’t overdo my gratitude. I can’t.

Hi Elly! You were the initial inspiration for me in learning how to make soap, and I can't thank you enough! 💐Since coming to your channel, my family and I have gleaned from your presentations and recipes, and are making our own soaps now. No more harsh chemicals from store bought soaps in our home! Thanks so much Elly!🤗❣

Taking a passion and turning it into full time money takes so much of the joy away. You are wise to follow your heart. I make soap for a hobby and give it all away. If I turned it into a job, I expect the enjoyment would go. I’ve learned so much from you and appreciate your generosity ❤ so happy you’re not going away from RUclips!🎉😊

Elly, you are heaven sent! LITERALLY just received my first order of oils and soap moulds. You gave me the courage and knowledge to finally start. I recently stepped away from my own business that started as a hobby. I was so drained, I didn't want to create anymore because I stopped enjoying it. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU

Gosh, so great to see your video! I am so new to soap making, and your videos have been such an inspiration. I can't even imagine keeping up a channel like this. The thing that also comes to my mind is exactly what you said - the isolation!! I do pottery and soap, and while I do my soaping at home (alone), I have a membership to a local studio for my pottery because I need the connection to other people!! I oftentimes wish there was a "soaping studio that I could join! LOL! It can be very isolating. Thank you for sharing! Can't wait to see more - AND.... do what you need to do for YOU!!

Thanks, I get that request quite a lot, but to be honest, it's a very tricky topic! Most people give up on making/selling soap once they find out how much it actually costs them to make and sell. The best operators I've seen get very efficient and focus on luxury soap with quite high prices! Just the way it is I think, which is why I prefer to make it just for myself and my loved ones :)

As I live in a tropical environment and here majority of skin type is oily so can you suggest a oil combination that long last bt aslo cleanse skin. And i also want to ppask you about storage of the soaps. I have seen your video on storage bt i have a problem here in my country we have a lot of dust in the air. So if i leave the soaps out they will collect a lot of dust on them. So what should I do about this problem? Can you guide me? And here people like detan and skin brightening and refreshing soaps a lot as we get sun burns frequently . Can you suggest some soap recipies on them it will be very helpful.. thank you..😊

Love you too you're so sweet❤❤❤❤
Could you explain a bit about soaps using other liquids such as coconut milk or goat's milk. Is that not adding more water in the recipe and would that soap not require longer curing because of this? Also how much , say in 1000g of oils should i be using?
Another thing is additives such as clays ,walnut shell powder or oatmeal, how do we determine how much to put in. I have not come across any video to help with these questions.

Thanks :) Yes, I used a calculator but think I mis-weighed something unfortunately. I'm not sure what went wrong.

Elly, you were the first RUclipsr soap maker I stumbled upon and I am so grateful that happened! You educated me and gave me the confidence to pursue my hobby - it has been a fun and exciting journey! I am very happy that you are doing what is best for you and what fills your soul! As a retired social worker myself, it is evident that the profession will benefit from your reengagement in working in your community! Take good care and I am looking forward to see future videos! 💕💞

Oh thank you Monique! I'm not going back to social work, so to speak, but work more related to environment/food systems (related to environmental social work perhaps, it's all connected with social justice I think).

Congratulations on your new job. You go girl! You do what's good for you! Someone posted a post on RUclips today an it said something like... You be your crazy self, your friends will love you for it and those that don't, won't stick around for long. You don't need those toxic people in your life anyway! 💖🌞🌵😷

Hello Elly,I was wondering if you can use essential oils in soap making, why couldn't a person use essential oils in liquid monomer for fragrance purposes? Please Answer

Yes, you can! I have made this kind of thing over the years. It's lovely. A solid perfume made with lip balm recipe is nice too.
