It's 40 billion dollars but here's the beauty. If you added 1 lane between Portland and Seattle North and South, it's 108 billion dollars. And here's the drill. When you open that 1 lane you're still only going 55 mph and soon thereafter because of traffic coming and using it, it's already congested. High speed rail you can just add more train sets and it always goes 250 miles an hour...We have got to stop thinking about a car-centric society."
