      @LovesData  11 месяцев назад

      Thank you! If you’ve added GA4 with your measurement ID (and not linked to UA), then I suggest leaving the UA code until data has stopped being collected into your UA reports. Then once data isn’t being collected into UA you can go ahead and remove the code. I also suggest checking the GA4 real-time report after this to ensure you’re still collecting data into GA4. Just to be safe.

I don't have the option to confirm "Install Manually", I only have "Test Installation" instead of "Confirm", which fails and gives me an error of "our Google tag wasn't detected on "mywebsitename". Double-check your installation and try again. ". My website is hosted by WordPress. How to proceed?

    I didn't uncheck the box and Google automatically created a GA4 property linked to my old UA account. Do I need to delete this new property and start over? We mainly use Google Analytics for pretty basic measurements, but we'd like to start using more complicated event tracking in the future.

    Hey, thanks for your great videos. I really appreciate the time you put into them. I integrate GA4 to my website via GTM as you suggested. When loading my homepage GTM is loading for over a second, slowing down the site. Do you have any insight on how to fix this? I do not have any other tags in GTM at the moment. Thanks

    • @LovesData

      GTM will load asynchronously, so it will add to the size of your pages, but it won’t delay loading of content.

    Why do you select "Initialization - All Pages" instead of the standard "All Pages" trigger?
    Trying to find some documentation on the difference between the 2 but not finding a clear answer.
    Thanks. Love your videos! :)

    • @AdamPPC
      @AdamPPC 11 месяцев назад

      'Initialization' means it'll be one of the first things to load on the page, 'all pages' is slightly lower down the priority order. 'all pages' will rarely create issues, but they can crop up where an event is appearing before the GA4 tag loads, causing it not to be picked up at all. Again, you'll almost always be fine just doing 'all pages', but there's some 1 in 1000 where it might cause issues.

      @@LovesData I cannot find the UA set up assistant. I think it is all G4 set up now. Is "connecting" to an existing property the same as enabling data collection? After we disconnect somewhere, do we then start over with a new G4 property but this time uncheck the "enable data collection" box? Somehow? Would love a video just for fixing this issue. Very disappointing: Google app and Shopify seem to have some conflict because after following these steps, we started receiving warnings on our google ads account about Google tag issues and the tag setup being incomplete or incorrect.

    • @LovesData
      @LovesData  Год назад

      That's strange. Without seeing your accounts, my first guess is that you were already using GA4. The current version of Google's Shopify app only lets me connect to GA4, so Google Analytics might have already been migrated. I suggest finding the GA4 measurement ID you've been using and ensuring this matches the measurement ID configured in the app. Also, uninstalling and then reinstalling the app is meant to reinstall the tags (at least according to Google support). If you're still having issues, then I recommend contacting support for the app. You can contact them here help.shopify.com/support/google-channel by selecting 'Getting Started' and then 'Email Us' (after you've logged in and selected your store).

If I don't migrate to GA4 will I still be able to access things in Analytics like 404 pages I need to redirect? Hi, I created GA4 manually, as shown. I have a problem - old stats data (from UA) are not present in the GA4. How to import them? (I mean data, not settings). For other website, I let Google create GA4 automaticaly for me and it such cases - the old stats data were imported. Thank you.

    • @LovesData
      @LovesData  11 месяцев назад

      Hey there! I think you'll need to check GA4 again, when a property is automatically created it doesn't import historical data. You'll probably find that the property was automatically created in June. There is no way to import historical data from UA (aka GA3) into GA4.

      @@pappamurugesan9927 Yep. Unfortunately, that’s how it works. GA4 is an entirely new platform and Google has not provided a way to import historical data from UA. It’s simply not possible. UA-->audience->overview-->segment name

    • @LovesData
      @LovesData  10 месяцев назад

      If you're referring to segments, then you can use 'Comparisons' in standard GA4 reports (the small graph icon with a pencil in the top right corner). It's also helpful to create audience lists in GA4 so it's quicker to view sections of traffic.
