I grew up on a small farm and we did it with a flial chopper and a wagon most of the time and put it in a standing silo. I didn't even know there were such things as bunker silos. Turns out a farm a few miles away from me has a bunker silo and I must say they are much bigger in person than in the game
I found out that the new snowblower mod can collect silage, straw, hay and grass and of course snow so you save a lot of time on the farm. It also fills your trailers when you use it.
The swath pick up head is used to greatly increase efficiency. Mow grass with 13.5 neter Krone big M. follow with harvester. the direct cut head is only 6 meters. Or, mow grass, rake with 19.5 meter rake. Harvest with pick up head. Added benefit of keeping the harvester closer to 100% load, with having field speeds be too high. Breaking equipment that costs in excess of a million dollars for everything you need to take silage off on a large scale makes Dad VERY upset. :) Yes i know Farm sim doesn't take this in to account, except for the efficiency really. In real life one does this to control the moisture of the product going in to the silo by allowing the grass to dry down some. It matters. Same thing applies to corn in real life. One wants a certain moisture range to facilitate fermentation without excessive spoilage or "seeping", which is a lot of liquid running out of the bottom of the silo.
Yeah I have seen guys with the hygrometers, or what every you call them - measuring the ground moisture to insure the best possible harvest yield. I figured it would be best practice to use the pick-up header so that the other equipment does most of the work and you forager is left doing just that - foraging.

Chaff comes from chopping up corn with the Forage Harvester - You take the chaff you collect and put it in a bunker - you then drive over it to compress it 100 percent - once its compressed you cover it and in the morning it will be silage - you can either sell the silage at the BGA OR use it to feed your cows.
Hey everybody. I have a question about how you get your mowers and windrower to attach like that? I’m not able too. Also, I’m on PS4 (unfortunately) so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it...
Its has to be the exact mower set I was using, and you should be able to do it on console. If you cant attach the little mower, try reversing the double mower and then see if it will connect. Think you can connect the doubles both ways, so they have to be on the right way to work.

I know this is supper late. But I have harvesting a field and the harvester stopped working. I rest everything but still the field is still not havesting. Can anyone help? Please and thank you.
a couple of things may have happened - is it raining? Are you mixing 2 different crops? Did the crops turn withered? any of these will result in you not being able to harvest. Hope that helps you head in the right direction.
I don't understand what you are asking. Are you asking what "mod"? If so, I didn't use any mods in this video - its all stuff that is already in the game
You could always just make silage bales and sell them at the red barn. Some mod maps have "dump friendly" bins and if you can find a loading ramp, you could put it in front of the tank and drive a tipper up.
PLEASE keep making these tutorials about the individual machines!

one time i saw a big John Deere forage harvester less then 5 miles from my house but just like you said it is usually trailed behind

big mower is real great cuz it saves you 3 passes cuz it mows and collects and if u did it with normal mower you'd need to mow, windrow and collect
you can force tip your grass were ever you like, just get a conveyor to pick it up

gulfmedic1 in game you can hire AI workers (robot workers lol). In multiplayer you can have your friends help you and also still hire the bot workers
