IMHO, Faber Castell Polychromos should have made the list! They are by far one of the best pencils for blending (along with the luminance, and they keep their point, unlike the prismas.
If you watch my longer video where I compared 90 brands of pencils, you’ll see that I rank them super high for layering, but not for blending. They are one of the best pencils that exist, but not in this specific category.
My favorite pencils are Derwent Lightfast! The second one is Prismacolor, the third: Caran'dAche Luminance and the last is Faber Castell because they're so translucent and you need more layers to build your artwork properly. But this info is very important to me, thanks for shared ❤❤❤
I just grabbed a set of the Lightfast on clearance at my local office supply store. They were already a great deal and were 50% off. Just $10.98 🇨🇦 for 12! So excited to try them .
I have a small set of Derwent and I love them BUT Prismacolor is my favorite! I just got back into doing pencil drawings so I'm still using my original Berol Prismacolors 72 color set. I have a 150 set too.
Love Chromaflow! Although I've never tried Prismacolor, I feel like they are a great alternative. Prismacolors are hard to come by here in Europe, so I'm glad I found these
Ah i wish prismacolor was cheap here. 😅 i have a few and they are great. I do have the derwent lightfast set and i do love them. I also have the color soft set and a smaller tin of inktense. Faber castell polychromos are not too bad either.
I don’ know the difference between the garandache luminance pencils that say garandache in the drippy effect and below sayng artis+ and between the one that says garandache normally and below just Geneve, are they the same thing? Whats the difference?
Always been a loyal fan of prismacolor 😍 Sarah, I'm trying to get the color cube bundle and I'm having online issues. 😔 is it me or are they not available anymore?
Not specifically for blending, but they are considered one of the best in the world. My personal favorite. They are usually available open stock, so you can buy 2-3 and test them. Thankfully, they all feel the same when laying down, so you don't need many colors to get a grasp of them.
Finally, we hear the "Best" pencils, I think....Nope. We hear "best pencils for blending", "cheapest", "I wish I had more of", "these are my absolute favorites", "beautiful", "a good side kick" and so on. So, are Caran d'Ache Luminance the "best pencils"? Or are they "the best pencils for blending?" Sorry, but still not exactly sure which are "the best". Thanks for the video.
Her favorite pencils are the Caran D’ache Luminance. She’s said in another video that they are the absolute best pencils in her opinion and it’s also the opinion of many other professional artists around the world. However, they are also the most expensive.

Thanks for being so thorough and sharing your awesome findings.
Prismacolors being the cheapest option is so wild to me as someone in the UK. I paid nearly £200 for the full set
Same here in Australia! But these other pencils are even more pricey here too!
Jesus In USA 60$ for 72 count and 106$ for 132 count
Im intrigued by the polychromos. Think im getting those first.
I love prismacolor too! I have a small set and have always wanted a bigger one

Love Chromaflow! Although I've never tried Prismacolor, I feel like they are a great alternative. Prismacolors are hard to come by here in Europe, so I'm glad I found these

Derwent lightfast are costlier than Caran D'Ache???
I'm so sad, in my country these are all so much expensive 💀
I prefer the Caran d'ache Luminance ❤
Are the FC polychromos any good?

In India Derwent chromaflow pencils cost 10.7$ per 12 pencils and prismacolors 26$ per 12 pencils
I think their price dropped since this short was actually filmed.
❤
