  • Traditional melody for the Holy Week troparion "Ιδού ο Νυμφίος" in forth plagal mode. The poem is written by Romanos the Melodist.
From Gerasimos Papadopoulos' album "Byzantine Hymns" (2022), which is an artistic reconstruction of seven byzantine hymns recorded in five-line Partes notation in the manuscript Sinai 1477 (mid-18th century), probably on the basis of chanting by an Athonite monk.

    English translation:
Behold, the Bridegroom arriving in the middle of the night, and blessed is the servant whom He shall find watching, but unworthy is he whom He shall find in slothfulness. Beware, therefore, O my soul, and be not overcome by sleep; lest thou be given over to death, and shut out from the kingdom. But return to soberness and cry aloud: Holy, Holy, Holy art Thou, O God; through the Theotokos, have mercy on us.
