    WOW, you broke a string and kept going completely like nothing happened!!! Awesome! Thank you for the review - extremely helpful.

    Love it that you can dial in your sound. It's like a Burger King amp.(you can have it your way).

    Great review. Like your playing style. Thank you. Will not do deep eq dives, will use the knobs on the amp, but will use a computer once to choose my boosts/ drives when I first get it. Mine arrives next week. Stay cool Jay

    All the Nextone amps are great. Beat the Fender GTX, Vox Cambridge, and frankly getting close enough to tube responsiveness. Great pedal platform also.

    This is the 1st Boss amp I'm really keen on. It's a player's amp 1st, then a bunch of computer solutions 2nd. I've never really liked the Katana which is a very personal thing. I know a lot of people like it. But the Nextone with that speaker is something different. It's not a super high gain metal amp. It's more of a classic set of amps rolled into one. I would really dig into the app settings to contour the sound to my playing style and guitars, then pretty much leave it alone. I also find I don't play with a ton of effects. I prefer my playing to do the talking. Overall a cool amp.

    Great video dude! I love all Boss/Roland gear. They’re one of my all-time favorite brands. Great job improvising your playing through the broken string, also. LOL

    Love the Nextone - it’s become my number one. It beat the Kemper, the Fractal AFII, Tone Masters and a bunch of low wattage tube amps from Fender, Friedman, VOX, Blackstar…. I was spoiled by some of the foot switch functionality of the Fractal and Kemper but with a minor pedal board tweak, I have a gig ready, appropriate stage volume, DI capable, portable rig that sounds killer.

    • @taroistok8751
      @taroistok8751 2 года назад

      I agree that it is better then a kemper or helix, mainly because it feel real because its a fully analogue circuit with no latency. All modeler rely on processor and there is latency but not this.

    Thanks bro nice review . . .I chose this for my back up amp as it sounds good (and has more options + tube tones than ze blues cube and I don't have to buy the $300 additional tone chip tube things for the blues cube extra tones) and has features, the computer thing is pretty cool.. I really love tube amps but want a SS for gigs and in the case where both the champ and twin blow tubes and I'm waiting 2 weeks for new ones to arrive.

    Good review man, nice and concise. Could maybe have covered the bass and top cut features but perhaps that's more for the real tone-hound types.. Really nice playing, great how you stayed in the moment at the end with the string break. Good stuff. Subscribed.

    I’ve just ordered this today.. I’m coming up empty on finding a cover, unbelievably Boss makes one for both the Stage and the Artist but ignores the flagship??? I appreciate that you showed some of your settings… how would you set it up for a warm blues tone on the edge of breakup?

      Hey do you like the amp? I'm torn between this one and the Katana Artist. The price tag is pretty steep for this one though.

      @@JayLeonardJ ir is and so are the nextone.
      What matter is the music, one thing i hate about my vibroverb is the background floor noise, like all tube, you need gate or denoisrr to have a ckean record, these problem are thing of the past with SS emulation if tube.
      Thrre is very few downside, but in my studio, young engeneer need to learn on the old vibro... so they .learn how yo deal with it.

    Lol this is not the first time I've seen Jay break a string during a demo. Heavy hitter indeed.
    I usually prefer to just deal with the front pannel. Whatever is in the way of me and playing just makes me less willing to sit and practice. So it's good that there's a lot of things a twist of a knob away.

    • @JayLeonardJ
      @JayLeonardJ  3 года назад +1

      Yeah, I definitely break more strings than the average cat! Thanks for writing :)

    • @shinjial
      @shinjial 3 года назад

      @@JayLeonardJ I kinda envy your picking hand. I’m too used to practicing at low volumes, trying to not bother people around, that my touch is really light. I have to work up to a mindset that allows me to hammer on the guitar. That paired with “discovering” edge of breakup sounds really push me to explore the dynamics of the guitar and amp focusing only on my picking hand.

    Great review, and I know you need to stay neutral, but how do you think this compares to the Quilter Mach 3?

    • @JayLeonardJ
      @JayLeonardJ  2 года назад

      Hmm... Very different cause one does it's tone shaping digitally and the other does it in a more analog way. You will get more sounds and expandability with the Nextone and a more old school sensibility with the Quilter

      you like simplicity? i had the original nextone for a year, and it was a fine amp. but at the beginning of 2021, i swapped it for a blackstar studio 10 EL34: a four-knob, real tube amp that is plenty loud for a 10Wer. also has an emulated output for headphones and direct recording. never looked back.
