How to REMOVE THE CENTER CONSOLE from a BMW 135i E82

- My friend Eric and I removed the center console from his BMW 135i and put together this quick tutorial on how to do it yourself. We removed it in order to get the back carpet out to put in a roll cage. Figured I would split this part out into a separate video so that those just wanting to know how to get the center console out could find it more easily. Roll cage video is coming next!
Here is the QuickJack lift that I use:

Thank you. That was really helpful.
This one was Hard To remove If I compare it to VW Lupo for example.
+Kuba F.T you’re welcome! Consider subscribing for me it you haven’t 😉
Hi, you are very good , I ask you how I can take apart the ash tray only that doesn’t close , in my 116 i bmw 2004. Looking your video first I havetake apart the plastic around the gear lever and after…..
Thank you
+@fabriziop7397 thank you, but I’ve never done that before so I don’t know
I’m here trying to just figure out how to remove my ashtray compartment… do I really have to pull the whole console for that… there’s gotta be a better way
I want to retrofit the ashtray and power socket to mine, do you think the ashtray is removable without taking out the whole console? Did you happen to notice where your power socket plugs in? One last thing, what is that awesome looking headunit you have there?
I’d also like to know if you can remove the ashtray without taking out the whole console.
Did u ever find out if it was removable without taking out the whole console?
@@8lockc4ain92 Not without removing the entire console unfortunately!!!
Hi. Any options to replace just an armrest?
Is it possible to remove the cup holders from the center console? I changed my center console into a one with an armrest but unfortunately it didn’t came with the cupholders. I was thinking to remove them from my old center console and install it onto the new one.
Kōsei Arima the cup holders next to the handbrake are molded in so you would need the whole trim piece. The “3rd” cupholder up next to the shifter is removable. You just pull up on it straight up.
Is there any way if removing the ash tray and cigg lighter without doing all that?
Thanks for your video. Are you able to take that cup holder compartment? I'm trying to install an android multimedia with a joystick but the joystick won't fit in that compartment
+Hs K I’m not following your question... I don’t have any cup holders in my car.
Oh, I mean the ones right below the gear stick.
@@와썹브로-k1u ohhh sorry! I thought this was the video for the center console on my Boxster 😂 I’m not sure if that comes out or not, it’s not my car so I can’t go check for you unfortunately.
@@와썹브로-k1u actually read the comment here from EricHo. He’s the owner and answers this question!
@@HelpMeDIY oh yeah! Sorry I feel dumb haha. Thanks!
Hey guys I know it’s not relevant at all but I can’t find any help so maybe it’s just too dumb but I’m trying to turn my 128 with n52 engine into a track car and want to know can I remove AC condenser and all that jazz or will the computer not like that
+Vibe Rider short answer is I don’t know. I would assume you should be able to remove it all though. Computer shouldn’t stop you from driving it or anything 🤷♂️
@@HelpMeDIY thanks man this is very reassuring bmw computers scare me
Juanito I’m doing the same thing to my 128 and currently stripping the interior. Just removed airbags and fingers crossed the DME doesn’t freak out. I’ve also wondered about the condenser and came to the conclusion you’d need a custom belt or fabricate a pulley bracket similar to the condensers. Other brands have brackets premade but I doubt there’s one for BMW. Good luck man!
@@derekrostock1596 I know this is old, but in case someone else stumbles upon these comments: Yes, the ECU will notice that your AC isn't functioning and write an error code. No, that code doesn't do anything to the engine and won't show up in your dashboard. If it bothers you to have a code, google a bmw coder in your area and let them disable it. There are OEM belts and sets of pullies for the E82 (E87, E9X, ...)to bypass the condensor, so you can safely buy a set of those and remove the condenser entirely.
Would this work for 128i?
+JJ Turner I’ve never seen one so 🤷♂️. Could be the same or similar
Good stuff! Thanks

+Designer R sorry, but I don’t know the answer to that. It’s not my car and we never messed with the cup holder.
