I just got my black '94 Rhoads EX back together after about 10 years in the case. Took the bridge apart to clean it. It's all original. The PuPs are hotter than I remember them. More so than my PS-4.
Yes, ALL of the guitar and bass building facilities have made consistent, gradual improvements over the last 20 years, with particularly strong gains in quality and consistency in the last five years.
Personally I love my rhoads with the bevels. I'm a sucker for the good old plain colors with colored bevels. Not a fan of the 2021 line up so i managed to order the RR24Q winterstorm. I can't wait to see it live.
This is sick dude....I was just searching about rr vs for random thoughts and opinions then you pop up with this video on my notifications. We must be linked in the brain today dude. I'm about to play my rr24q winter storm on my evh 5150iii 50w 6L6. Fun times \m/
I love my 94" ex professional, completely modified and refinished with a deleted neck pickup, an EMG 81' in the bridge, and a rust paint job. I got it for 190$ and it needed some serious tlc and after it played amazing I still have it after 13 years.
I've got quite a unique one I picked up from my local shop a year go. its got 2 Duncan Designed humbuckers, a Jackson style floyd rose, 22 frets, and the unique part is it has 2 volumes and a tone, which I cant find anywhere else. no idea the history of it, but its a killer guitar.
early 2000s rr3 if bolt on and serial starts with 9, if neck thru post 2011 x series, however maybe late 90s if it only says jackson on front of headstock and plain trussrod cover, i dont the model names of rhoads mjd to late 90s, some people say some bolt on rr3 were made in korea and indonesia, i have only seen 4r3 bolt on mij
I remember when I was a kid I went to the store with my father and I had been left 1k so I was gonna buy a Jackson Rhoads. I saw one with a holographic finish whish was flames when you looked at it one way and skulls when you look at it from another. My father told me not to spend all my money so I just bought a cheaper black one. I can't find anything about the holographic one that I almost bought anywhere. I probably would've been rich if I didn't listen to my father. Thanks dad. 😒
I have a Jacskson RX10D and Im really happy, the neck is super comfortable, you can slide your hand down and up over the neck very quickly, the only thing is the pickups, i think ill change for the Dimarzio pickups
Super stable. #bestinthejungleoflicensedjunk. As long as their knives are clean. Not had problems with any of the Jackson branded JT580 straight tremelo's or the lo pro variant. One time i bought a 2nd hand guitar wich had one bended stringscrew, and after replacing that and its saddle..the bridge was in perfect order again.@@antoniogd21 Only few things to keep in mind with lo pro's is, Intonation/stringlength is slightly limited, and one has less room for clean palm muting(!). Love the LP bridges though, because they keep the allen wrench away from the body. They are worth to equip with a phatter tremelo block since they offer lovely sustain.
P.s. check the floyd of the green "rx10d" in this vid. That is a horrible schaller 590 imitation. Only has lo pro stringsaddles on it, those are ok. But the unmarked spot there tells you enough. horrible crapmetal bridge. Exactly the one to avoid. @@antoniogd21
Just bought a jjr94 with that thin neck. Sounds sick but electronic is not the best my ex 98 japanese was better. I'll change all the electronic it will rock! Bought it 150$ with SD pickups set. Great deal.
Hey man cool video! I'm thinking of getting the RR24Q Transparent Purple as it looks gorgeous. But I'm worried that upper fret access (like the last 4 frets) will be really uncomfortable. Could you tell me your experience and how you found upper fret access to be? Should I not be worried?
Wow that's the rarest RX10D .... in green?! woow beautiful! Bought a beatup rx10d to transform into this example here. Yet it's tremolopocket is square and not winged. And i see that horrible brandless Floyd copy (some unmarked schaller 590 imitation) that is exactly as those on Indian JS series guitars from around 1999. Horrible bridge, its tremolo arm screws directly in a treaded bus that comes loose from the baseplate. Horribel crapmetal version. While all normal jackson branded bridges have a trem-arm with a overscrew bus. And the wingpoints are thicker and its body heavier than all other RX10D's... hmm weird. Quite remarkable. Must be a Indian RR. Look the MIJ rx10d has a bigger headstock logo reaching up to the truss rod cover, whilst the indian smaller logo is a few centimeters from it. And MIJ rx10d's have darker rosewood fretboards. And the tremolopocket is routed closer to the edge than this green Indian Js20 rr. Does the neckplate only have a serial number, and are the tuners nameless? Is the neckjoint under the neckplate inclined or is it bolted flat straight? Hated it to realise that shops took advantage from Jacksons move from India to Japan, fooling young players with letting their indian overstock go for MIJ jacksons! And letting the kids overpay. And imprinting that profiteering is more important than support, and dealing honest good products! Hope ya'll live in a nation where not all music stores are run by piano and violin creeps.
depends on year ,the modern ones are almost identical, color is main dif on newer ones, and one has ,electronic access from the back the other does not, that might depend on year or which factory made it, might not be because of which model, mij rr3 and mij rr5 totally different than late models
Rx10d. Got it in blue I love it but the input jack is in the wrong spot it's hard to sig n play or prop it on your leg to lead. I also have an rr3. It's more comfortable with the jack in the top wing. But I like the pickups and 1 knob on the rx10d which is made in india.stkllbgreat quality. Rr3 is mij. Considerin
hmm i can resist that. Weird how some can't. But it is the better point to plug in when upright playing. Tucks better and locks tighter behind the strap.
No rx10d was ever made in india. Those are lost JS20 rr's. Our entrepeneurs have tricked the kids by selling the ol indian batch for MIJ ones, as RX10D's. So we pay full bill on what for them is a cheap import. bstrds i know. I was so mad, that a shop run by adult rather profits from a kid than wanting to support it. Then it took untill Fukugima that i could buy a half nuclear full-on MIJ KV5fr. 🤘😈Bingo and basta...now very happy with a great and lovely guitar with no compromise. Only reason to ditch the FRT2000 is to honour the guitar with a gotoh or lockmeister, but the frt2000 is performing splendidly, so happy to be out ov the woods now.
Does your rx10d have a Japanese serial number ? I’ve picked one of these up used recently and have been working on finding more about it bc the guys that sold it said it was just a Jackson rhoads from 1997 as far as they knew
RX10d's are all post 2000. Any similar looking RR body is from India. Jackon re-used the serials, hence you have to "crack the neck to check". Unless one bought it back then....

I’m currently patiently waiting on my Jackson RR3 pinstripe to get to the crib, can’t wait
oooh lovely. Then take it somewhere to have it Flame Maple topped and splashed in deep forest green. 🤤

Same here haha
I have a Japanese RR3. Got it new at Guitar Center in the mid -early 2000's. Very well made. mine has a Jackson Floyd.
lo pro huh...? Look at if the tuningscrews are brass .... Congrats you've secretly got yourself a Schaller Ⓡ . 🥰

the white one would look awsome with red pickup covers.

IIRC none of those have MOP inlays. They are pearloid inlays. RR1 has MOP inlays.

I also have a RR94 Black satin
Rhoads seems to have a very wide spacing between bridge and neck humbucker, any advantages about that?

Did you just tape off that tiger stripe then cut random patters in the tape?
I have a jrr 94 concept, I'm wondering if you can point me in the direction of what size nut I need. Thanks

What was the 2007 model, that is what mine is
Have been trying to understand what the difference is from a RR5 and RR3? Anyone can help me understand difference?

Actually the made in india body has robuster points. And has a OFR tremelo pocket :) Love that neck as well, its thinner than the MIJ.

date in neck pocket stamped on neck and body
definitely not a 97, post 2002

97XXXXX poeh that can be a 2006 build.@@tankdarla637
Does the RR3 stock come with coil splitting one not
No
Ok thank you I did not know
He said a 24 fret Rhoads, "you don't see that often ". Aren't the Rhoads models all 24 frets?
No, most aren’t. RR-1, RR-3, RR-5, JRR-94, Ex Pro series, RX-10D and many more are all 22 frets.
Also the RR4 is also a 22 fret neck
yeah although seems different for the Custom Shop ones... @@GuitarGuts
There's only 1/4 inch between the strings and pickups.....
First view, cool vid :)
I have RR ex .. You can see on my videos
Got an $800 red model in 2008. IT WAS GARBAGE!!! Went out of tune, from just looking at it!
probably did not know what you were doing
@@tankdarla637 No! I did not!
