    I have A question. I saw video but figured i would still ask....my husband is between jobs and i purchased aspen short term insurance but I've called 5 docs and they dont know it...it doesn't cover prescriptions, dental only discounted... I felt she was pushy and wanted me to sign without reading...i found out it is not bbb accredited...paid 310...2500 thousand hospital deductible...25 for specialist...50 for wellness...the more i write the more stupid i feel...but it is a short term and she said i can cancel within 30 days...so i have to go get an endoscopy and now i am so upset i got scammed...sorry English not my first language and I really want to know if i should take it or get money back...i asked her ( insurance agent) if i went to hospital would i have to pay hospital deductible and she said i could make payments after...thank you for this video...i have to go to hospital and i refuse to go without insurance because they treat you so bad....can you recommend an insurance i can get pretty fast...?? My husband works full time at a very small company and he doesnt provide benefits here in Florida he just gives my husband 200 extra on check a month..is that even legal?? Thank you for your time

    • @JoeyGiangola
      @JoeyGiangola 4 года назад +2

      Thanks for watching and I'm sorry you have to deal with all that confusion. The short answer, I would look into a short-term plan with a large national company like United healthcare, Aetna or Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Of course, there could be a regional company in the Florida area that also offers a solid short-term policy. Also, if you're husband's company has less than 50 employees there are no requirements for offering health insurance, but they can provide a bonus or stipend to help cover the cost.

    I have been in the insurance industry for 21 years, Indemnity plans are not a scam or bad option, agents just need to present and explain the information correctly. Indemnity plans are supplemental plans. | I do agree about not being pressured to buy within one phone call, and also agree about the Ministry plans, I would not recommend those options. BTW: there are many good ethical agents out there that won't pressure you, and will give you all that you need so you can make the right choices. :) Use discernment not only with insurance, but any other services needed. Best wishes.

    • @JoeyGiangola
      @JoeyGiangola 5 лет назад +2

      Thanks for feedback I really appreciate it. The indemnity plan itself is certainly not the scam, it's the way it is presented in most of these "I filled out a form online" situations. However, I will say in my 10 plus years I have rarely found an indemnity plan that paid enough to justify the premium.

      Without knowing more details Adam that's impossible to answer. The most important coverage any policy offers is its out-of-pocket maximum. That makes sure you never pay more than that dollar amount regardless of how much medical treatment you might need. If a policy doesn't have one, then you're in trouble.

And if so, which plans would you suggest for a single person? ? I have had ACA ins. before BCBS silver 1443 and it was good but even with a $925. Subsidy It is still $158. monthly. This video is misleading and not accurate. 1. Indemnity plans serve a purpose and can pay 4k per day spent in the hospital + additional $ for surgery #unitedhealcare not a fly by night company. 2. Short term will not cover you on the 2nd term if u develop a new condition 3. You can buy health insurance outside of open enrollment however it can cost you #BCBS 4. Health Sharing companies have been around for more than 30 years and are a lot more structured the "just playing insurance" they are also nonprofits so they are under regulation..

      Why not ask your parents if they can add you to their health insurance plan. Children can stay on their parents health insurance until they're 26, everyone 25 and under should be taking advantage of this option, you don't have to be a tax dependent or even live with them. You wrote this comment 9 months ago, which would mean you have a little over four years to take advantage of this opportunity. If your parents are already covering other dependents, it shouldn't cost them any more money to add you and even if your parents don't have any other kids on their plan, it shouldn't cost much to add a child to their policy, even if you paid your parents the difference, it would still be cheaper than buying your own plan.

    All insurance is a scam! The only way to make it pay is to suffer of a tragedy. Reduce your risk, take care of yourself and if you really do have a big problem, negotiate the price and if you have assets, get a trust attorney and protect them. Us consumers might fight back with our wallets.

    • @JoeyGiangola
      @JoeyGiangola 6 лет назад +2

      I'm sorry you feel that way, James. Insurance was originally intended to transfer the risk of a catastrophic event from one person to many. Insurance was never intended to cover the small things. It's also why you don't have an "oil change" copay on your auto insurance. It's not cost effective. You might want to take a closer look at the (scam) pricing happening from the medical community that is a primary contributor to the problem. You can't lower the cost of health insurance without lowering the cost of what it insures.

    • @jamessteamerslifeadventure9695
      @jamessteamerslifeadventure9695 6 лет назад

      Absolutely! So the only way to lower the cost of our scamming, greed loaded health care system is first to be preventive and not use it and second, drop insurance because obviously insuring something increase the price of it. When I go to a doctor and tell him or her I have no insurance my MRI costs $150 yet if I have insurance they charge $2,400 so obviously insurance is causing corruption. Health care should be priced on supply and demand like any other commodity without the third party. I have spent less on my medical care in 60 years combined than ONE MONTH'S insurance premium would cost me. Also when you buy insurance you are paying for smokers, abusive drinkers, junk food junkies, the obese and other high risks I do not engage in. I don't want to pay for irrepsonsibility.

    • @jamessteamerslifeadventure9695
      @jamessteamerslifeadventure9695 6 лет назад

      Agreed. But the only way to truly lower the cost of care is to eliminate insurance because then the medical industry would not be guaranteed all this excessive cash. No other part of our economy is so insulated, why should this sector be? Health care should be market based, not insurance based. Get rid of third party payers! I don't have grocery insurance when I shop at the grocery store and if I did just imagine the $25 loaves of bread and $5.00 bananas!
