Remember, if you're in the highveld we are 1500m / 4500ft above sea level.
You will find many stores here will stock 6.5 creedmoor. Many Hornaday as well as Sako, sellier, norma etc.
I handload my own and find the velocities are way lower than they should be according to load data.
You'll love the climate here we dont have extreme weather appart from insane thunderstorms at times
    You'll have a great time.

Hey Mr. Who Tee. You will not regret swapping to the Core Lokt. We have lot of old school game farmers here in Limpopo South Africa that don't like the 6.5 CM, but my experience is that you can put up to an Eland down with no problem. Your PH will tell you to use the 30-06 on Eland, witch is definitely more ethical, but dang those 6.5 CM Core Lokt bullets "Moer hard" (Hit hard).
Starting to warm up here and the bush veld is dry, so there are no ticks yet. I hope South Africa treats you well. Happy hunting and enjoy your time here.

I have a Bergara B-14 in 6.5 Creed. I wanted to both poke holes in paper as well as animals. It grouped Winchester match 140 grain well. It HATED any type of hunting ammo. .58" with the winny match; 1.75" with most hunting ammo. After a little bit of bedding work I finally got it to agree to group Hornady 143 gr ELD-X, but I have to talk sweet to it first and promise to buy it dinner after.

WHO-TEE!!! Yebo Yes! (some African lingo for ya!). Chrono of speeds are essential to ensure your scopes (Veracity and E6) are correct. When I had to switch to Sellier&Bellot 142gr HPBT, I used the average of 10shots out my 24" barrel and found it to be some 30ft/s slower than the stated velocity on the box. Then made the changes in the bullet profile on the Burris app and 'uploaded' it to the scope...and...viola! .... I was dead-on, ringing 3" gongs, no matter the diatance!
Dunno if the Veracity also has an "...onboard weather station" like the E6...I read an earlier post on environmentals and height-above-sea-level, etc, etc. Upon arrival at your Lodge/Farm be sure to have your scope (well at least the E6 I think) 'know' -for lack of a better word- where you are. The scope will then adjust your ballistic profile accordingly. Very important.
You seem to be settled on all-copper...sadly so it would seem, the Remington "CuT" is not available in South Africa.
I have found greater accuracy with 'heavier' bullets, especially out to distance

If you can shoot an MOA at 300yds you should be fine. You should study the anatomy of the animals you intend to hunt. I used a 162 grain ELD-X and had great success on 9 animals from 90yds on a warthog to 711yds on an Nyala. 8 of my shots were beyond 200yds, 5 were beyond 300yds. The ELD-X is great but you have to put it in the vitals and not the shoulder. I'd steer clear of lighter bullets if possible.

Kind of a room temp IQ you have there aye? 6.5cm and 30-06 is more than capable of taking down anything he's going to be hunting down there. When he starts hunting elephants then maybe he might need to up his firepower. Kids these days I swear. Clueless

That tipped bullet isn't very tough. Simple cup and core. Would not be my choice for Africa. Did you try the terminal ascent, swift Sirocco or even the fusion bullets? I understand you aren't shooting buffalo with this but if the 30-06 goes down for some reason, i would think you would want a better constructed bullet. Just my .02 cents. Have a great hunt!.........full disclosure i work at speer/cci. John
