- For some reason, I feel like this concept and comeback is the most TWICE has ever TWICED? If that even make sense? This felt so complete and so … them? So evolved and so developed? I don’t even know how to explain it but this is the most evolved version of TWICE we’ve ever had and this makes me so incredibly proud! Not only that but the MV was so incredibly well made and thought out. From what I gathered: their outfits first of all don’t fit the concept and the song and so it shows a disconnect, Sana is removing her makeup, Mina is trapped, Tzuyu is also trapped in the ropes etc. everything leads us to believe that they’re not being themselves, they’re being forced to be a certain way, be someone they’re not. And by the end of it though, there is this sense of liberation, freedom, inner peace because they’ve finally found themselves, set themselves free from this shell that they were forced to be in. They're smiling at the end, the look so overjoyed and finally the outfits look like they match the concept! It felt so empowering once I got the meaning behind this whole thing!
Like yes, of course, they look so gorgeous and they sound so good but what’s new here?! What I enjoyed most here is the element of surprise because I was not expecting this song to sound the way it did and ultimately it might be one of their most catchy song as of late! BUT what I enjoyed most is how profound this was compared to what we’re usually used to!
Bottom line, I loved this concept and I love how this came out near women’s international day!

TWICE have shared that the individual scenes are their own versions of being SET FREE! Now I really wanna know the interpretation for all!
Nayeon - escaping the pressure of walls closing in and choosing to walk her own path
Jeongyeon - breaking free from pressure of constantly being watched
Momo - taking control by being behind the camera
Sana - breaking free from the pressure of beauty standards
Mina - feeling trapped and being able to be free to speak for her own
Jihyo - breaking free from societal standards of how she must look and act as an idol
Dahyun - being confident and walking through the chaos
Chaeyoung - painting a different picture and literally flying away
Tzuyu - burning the strings thats binding her on keeping a certain idol image
These are beautiful and reminds me so much of some of their other title track songs like Perfect World, Fake and True and especially Feel Special who have personal meanings for each member!

I never knew i needed a dahyun and jihyo harmony until now. Realizing now it’s actually so obvious that their voices would go together so well since dahyun’s voice is softer while jihyo’s is fuller and more powerful
For me, the song makes me sleepy. It has a calming effect and I feel at ease listening to this song. Like everything is gonna be ok, so you can chill all you want. Almost feels like being contented. I like it so much. I'm glad Twice makes me feel through music that they are truly happy right now.

I think their confidence as artist has come full circle , they're so comfortable in anything they do now, vocals,choreo and of course they'll always be visual goddesses. Set me free is definitely twice’s best title track, it just hits different and the girls all look so good, btw jeongyeon is so pretty. Her and Sana got my attention throughout the song and m/v. The album is no doubt 10/10. Wallflower b-side of the year.
I’m sure as hell a lot of people are reacted the same way as me, thought that after DaMoChae rap part finished, the song and mv are really end there lmao. (On my first listen, I have to check the video length twice to see if is really finish, this is a nice twist lol)

Im pretty sure All of them can be come actresses but The reason I respect Twice is they really like doing stuff Together even with Nayeon doing Solo last year she present herself as a Member of Twice in interviews. And doing Dramas too makes members miss Stage performance due to scheduling conflicts. I Know they had Hiatuses from Jeongyeon and Mina. But they instantly went back to group activity once they are Ok.

Perfect for Women's History Month! The song has a nice message of a relationship where both mutually empower each other. Personally I think Twice is a great example for women in Kpop their growth and progression as a group and individuals is holistic. They've been through many stuff but still come out persevering and presenting their best.

and I saw some theory on Twitter and now my mind connected the concept of this MV? maybe I'm reaching but in the beginning you hear the sound of the camera rolling and the film starts and this is twices pave or way from the beginning to now, then you see jeongyeon with the "set me free tape" and then we hearing the camera roll closed sound and the ending credit scene which stands for the end of the "controlled" twice? so that's why they watched themselves and then the explosion and then they running away and this is a new beginning/ Era of free twice???

Hmmm after i heard your thought about twice being "complete" this comeback ,,, i feel like twice finally acting according to their ages(?) if that make sense . Yk according to standard girl group route first they will have cutie pie concept and slowly transition to mature concept , i think twice made no diff but the final transisition (this mv) was done sooo beautiful and not like rushed to make them like sexy revealing mature concept.
