Such a great film. One of the best disaster films ever made. It’s got a good story and cast of characters. And it’s special and practical effects still look amazing.
Movies like this takes me back to the days of going to block buster with the family, buying popcorns and snacks for a movie night with the family! No cell phones to interrupt , Just good ol family bonding
After watching the trailer for the 2024 remake, I'm convinced movies will never be as great as they once were. This movie is almost 30 years old, and it's better in every single way.
As a SKYWARN storm chaser who has grown up with the original TWISTER, I can say you have made this very well. Now after 27 long years, an official sequel is coming this July 19th, 2024. It shall be known as TWISTERS. The film will be based of Bill Paxton's original idea before he passed away. Rest in peace "The Extreme" & Philip Seymour Hoffman "Dusty."
No other movie has been able to make a tornado as realistic as this 96 movie. All these tornadoes in modern disaster movies look so rubbery and shiny you dont have to try hard to notice how heavy CGI they look.
The movie turns 25 today! I remember my dad had it on vhs Even Nostalgia Critic pointed out nobody knew why this movie was such a hit....oh wait because of the effects, that's it Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton are good actors but their romance isn't as interesting as the tornado itself, there's a lot of forced awkward scenes with both of them Cary Elwes plays the right amount of slimy villain and Phillip Seymour Hoffman is amusing There's just so much implausible stuff here that no human being can survive it's kinda laughable Give em credit this movie did have more people go into the fields of meteorology and storm chasing big time
@no use for a name No I mean in the theatres when I saw this movie. With the very loud bass-heavy surround channel, the film was notorious for destroying surround sound speakers.
People: "Everything will just be CGBLEH" Almost every big movie today is has CGI, you're acting like it's something we don't know, also they could use actual tornado footage now, like in Storm Cell, most of the tornadoes in that movie were from real storm chaser footage, in fact they could maybe even make Twisters look better than Twister, remember seeing the sun light in the F5 scene? We can prevent that now, remember Twister using real chaser footage but it looked completely different than the environment? We can also prevent that now. It's not the CGI I'm worried about, it's the fact that there will most likely be green screens, the score will be different and the vibe won't feel the same. The main thing I believe people really needs to learn about judging movies is to NEVER judge a film until it come out, remember that Pixar movie "Elementals"? That went from the worst to one of the biggest Pixar movies in recent years. People thought it was gonna be bad but somehow made a huge come back because people judged it before it came out.
@@VexNovaYT effects aside, I’m confident abt the acting (main reason to watch movies) because it’s very inclusive & of good calibre based on all that have been cast so far! This particular film will heavily weigh in on the effects I agree because we’ve seen the Og one, with real footage etc, so this aspect will make it different & not carbon copy. Plus, it’s a new story not a reboot. So I’m optimistic!
@@VexNovaYT Then you will be excited to know the way the filming was done has very little of that green screen crap. The new sequel movie has a $200 Million budget & they are giving everything they have into making it wonderful. I know because I have seen with my own eyes where they have been setting up real props. El Rino, & Chickasha Oklahoma are 2 of the locations. I will not reveal any other details. The new sequel shall be known as TWISTERS based off Bill Paxton's original idea for one before he passed away & will release July 19th, 2024.
The guy that directed Oblivion and the new Top Gun reportedly wants to remake this movie. Bill Paxton also wanted to direct a sequel when he was alive with his and Helen's daughter. I'd prefer a sequel vs messing with an original personally...
I'd love for that to happen, but I'm fairly certain it'll never come to pass. The CGI was rendered in an SD format, so unlike raw film footage, they aren't able to enhance the visual effects all that much. To do so would likely ruin the image quality and throw everything out of balance. My guess is that they'd have to remaster the visual effects manually and that simply isn't cost effective for them.
It had 2 EF-0s, since you're saying the "EF" scale there would be 2, the F-2/3 tornado and the waterspouts. The F-2/3 tornado did not cause any damage, there for it's an EF-0, and the waterspouts could've pushed bills truck but it didn't and just spun it around, there for it's also a EF-0. The first tornado F-1 was a EF-3+ since it picked up a truck like nothing and completely destroyed a barn & silos in seconds. Hell it could even be a EF-4 to be honest.
I really liked this movie but I've just seen Twisters today wow I think this one is better Suspense but I was a little disappointed with the ending kissing scene lol great movie tho 😊
Excuse the grammar and spelling. I used voice to text and heavy a heavy Canadian country bumpkin accent I came back to the watch this trailer and compare it to the trailer for the sequel and oh my God I really want to Smith & Wesson special right now because the new movie is just horrible. They took this movie switch the genders on every character and took the script through it into an AI, had the muse of the thesaurus to change all the words that have the words mean, the exact same fucking thing, and then made a new movie out of it, adding in the comedy style of Sharknado. This everybody is how you completely destroy a series. Here’s a 15 second thought that I have to start a new movie. OK last movie they got really rich because they finally got their machine to work and they can maybe start their own proprietary meteorological software system that does the 15 minute warning and from there their warning system picks up on this really massive storm that’s going to be coming up in a couple weeks and because of it they have to evacuate every single person in a certain town because it’s going to be exactly there is gonna be the biggest tornado of all time Helen hunt. The rest of the crew video starts out at a funeral for Bill Paxton’s character because he was killed, will storm chasing the previous week. How am I a mechanic? He just likes tornadoes in meteorology and Chase as tornadoes for fun sometimes in the summer how am I able to write a better movie script in 15 seconds then the writers Guild of America ?
To this day, still one of the best films ever made.
You are right
Agreed 👏🙂
Couldn't agree more.... I was obsessed as a kid, watching it again in hbomax made me feel like a kid again.

"Twister"(1996) is an excellent and very spectacular disaster action adventure movie!
Such a great film. One of the best disaster films ever made. It’s got a good story and cast of characters. And it’s special and practical effects still look amazing.

Who's here after the announcement of " Twisters"?
It's been over 20 years and we are finally getting a sequel!

Best trailer for this movie EVER!
Thinking about Kentucky while watching this. God bless.
And he's back with another one that's just as good.
It's this movie that made me love storm chasing, and I absolutely love this take on a modern trailer for this film.
Idgaf what anyone says. Outside of the dialogue, acting, and plot.. it’s STILL THE BEST MOVIE IN THE LAST 30 YEARS. #THESUCKZONE
Hell yeah, my favorite movie of all time
@@TSL73 classic
I love this movie too, but I have to point out who the real nemesis was in the film: FARM EQUIPMENT!

I love this movie. I remember when I watched it years ago. and it's still one of the best movies in my list.

The audio from El Camino’s trailer really fit this wow
Bill's and Jo's trucks are sooo badass
Holy shit this trailer is better than the original. The music is perfect
25 years? I was a kid when this came out now I'm fully grown. Damn I'm old.
Same! I was 10 when this movie came out and I loved it so much I saw it a second time when it was still in theaters
@no use for a name Same! The rumbling that you heard in theatres when the tornadoes were on screen where something else.
@no use for a name No I mean in the theatres when I saw this movie. With the very loud bass-heavy surround channel, the film was notorious for destroying surround sound speakers.
Best weather disaster movie to date. 30 years old now and still have ptsd from it, thanks Twisetr lol
Mi película favorita, tengo pendiente visitar Wakita. Soy de España pero pronto podré cumplir el sueño.
Best tornado movie I watched

Nicely curated and produced!

A cover song of 'The Last Time' by The Rolling Stones
Best movie ever 😃😀
Hope it comes on 4k blu ray

this still looks better than the new one coming out
I owned that on VHS 😂
Love dis movie watched it when I was little 💀💀
Goosebumps!
I love it ;)
I think I have seen it; very long time ago though. 😌
Name of song used?
Nono im not dumb this is the same twister and the movie is from 1966
This is a 2020 edit of a film from 1996. The title and video description are very self explanatory.
Do you know what my favorite Helen Hunt movie is?
Fine trailer
One of the best movies
I don’t remember that music in the trailer
Awesome
I just saw TWISTERS trailer
Awesome!!!!
The day after tomorrow, tidal wave, into the storm😍🥰😘😎
What songs are used in the trailer?
1) The Last Time (Rolling Stones) - cover song by Classic Rock Kid
2) El Camino - Trailer song
soo Annoyed that they are not releasing this movie in 4K for the 25th Anniversary
Twister had a ef0 like INTO THE STORM

The 1989 Trailer is much better
